Sabonis was able to practice on Wednesday, but he still isn’t ready to return to the lineup, which will make Thursday’s game his sixth-straight absence. Jonas Valanciunas should continue to shine at center, though Golden State’s smaller lineups might not be the best matchup for him. Sabonis could return Friday in Phoenix on the second night of this back-to-back.

Murray struggled from the field with 12 points on 15 shots Wednesday. The 28-year-old point guard missed all but one of his five 3-point attempts against the Timberwolves. Valanciunas held his own on the glass again, grabbing a game-high 13 rebounds on Monday. The veteran center has hit double digits in that category in four straight and five of his last six appearances. The increased rebounding production is why Valanciunas has been a top-25 player in nine-cat formats over the past two weeks. He’s already rostered in 85 percent of Yahoo! leagues, and JV will continue to have increased value while the Kings are without Domantas Sabonis.

LaVine only attempted 10 shots on Monday, his lowest tally since joining the Kings a few days before the February trade deadline. While the percentages were good, he wasn’t particularly impactful in the Kings’ 133-104 defeat. However, LaVine has been a top-50 player in eight-cat formats over the past two weeks. The only negative for LaVine managers is Sacramento’s schedule, as they end Week 19 with a Thursday/Friday back-to-back against the Warriors and Suns.

Monk returned from a three-game absence on Monday and was not under any restrictions. However, there was a quick trip to the locker room during the second half, and the Kings getting blown out ensured Monk a few more minutes on the bench than planned. Monday’s game was his first with 20 points or more since before the All-Star break, and Monk’s scoring has taken a hit since the De’Aaron Fox trade. After averaging 18.0 points per game before February 1, he’s recorded 16.7 since the trade. With the Kings fighting to reach the postseason, they’ll need Monk to be more impactful as a scorer.

Watson wasn’t in the starting lineup Monday night, but he gave the Nuggets valuable minutes off the bench with Aaron Gordon (calf) unavailable. The third-year forward shot 4-of-4 from beyond the arc, and the 16 points were two shy of his season-high. This performance isn’t enough to get Watson on the radar in most fantasy leagues. Still, it should earn him another opportunity to play rotation minutes after recently falling behind Zeke Nnaji in the pecking order. Nnaji didn’t provide much value on Monday, going scoreless with three rebounds, three assists and one steal in 11 minutes.

After scoring 17 points on 6-of-17 shooting in Sunday’s loss to the Thunder, Murray redeemed himself in Monday’s rematch. The 34 points are the most he’s tallied in a game since Denver’s first game out of the All-Star break when Murray hit that number in a win over the Hornets. Since the break, Murray has provided top-15 value in eight- and nine-cat formats. He’ll look to build on Monday’s exemplary performance when the Nuggets host the Timberwolves on Wednesday.

If Jokic’s right elbow was an issue for him on Monday, he certainly didn’t show it. The three-time MVP only missed five of his 20 field-goal attempts and was two assists shy of a triple-double. According to Basketball Monster, Jokic has been the top-ranked player in nine-cat formats over the past month, which surprises no one. Westbrook filled the void in the starting lineup left by Aaron Gordon, who sat out Monday’s game with a calf injury suffered on Sunday. And the veteran point guard had a solid night in Oklahoma City, shooting 60 percent from the field and 3-of-5 from beyond the arc. Add in the rebounds and assists, and this was a good night to have Westbrook rostered. While Murray’s offensive output has been modest on most nights, he has hit double figures in seven of the eight games he’s appeared in since the All-Star break. The combination of consistent scoring and solid percentages is why Murray has been ranked just outside the top 50 in nine-cat formats since the break. Even with Domantas Sabonis and Malik Monk out due to injury, Murray’s fantasy ceiling is limited, with DeMar DeRozan and Zach LaVine dominating the shots. DeRozan hit multiple key shots down the stretch on Sunday. Unfortunately for the Kings he didn’t have the ball in his hands last. Kawhi Leonard did, and his left-handed shot as time expired gave the Clippers the win. DeRozan has scored 30 points or more on 11 occasions this season, three shy of his 2023-24 total, continuing to provide reliable fantasy value in eight- and nine-cat formats. In recording his second double-double in three games, Porter’s 15 rebounds were a season-high. However, rebounding has not been the issue for the Nuggets forward since the All-Star break, field-goal percentage has. Westbrook started the third quarter of Sunday’s game for Aaron Gordon, who exited during the first with a right calf injury. While the former MVP did not shoot the ball well, Westbrook did provide value in the rebound and assist categories. If Gordon cannot play against the Thunder on Monday, look for Westbrook to start and for Zeke Nnaji (three points, one rebound and one block in 23 minutes) to see more action off the bench. Jokic had a tough afternoon from beyond the arc and at the foul line, and the problems may have begun after landing on his right elbow during the second quarter. On a night when Nikola Jokic made history, Murray performed well in the Nuggets’ overtime victory. The points, assists and steals were solid, and the Nuggets point guard only committed one turnover. Since the All-Star break, Murray has provided top-20 per-game value in eight- and nine-cat formats. As a result of this surge, he’s a top-25 player for the season. Since his Yahoo! If Jokic’s performance against the Suns wasn’t the greatest in NBA history, it’s pretty high on the list at the very least. The Nuggets center became the first player in league history to record at least 30 points, 20 rebounds and 20 assists, and his 22 helpers were a career-best. Jokic now has seven games with at least 15 points, 15 rebounds and 15 assists in a season, tied with Oscar Robertson during the 1961-62 campaign for the most in league history.
