While the opportunities to provide fantasy-relevant value have been inconsistent, Clayton has shown the ability to step up when his name is called. The rookie didn’t miss a shot on Saturday, with the 17 points being three shy of his season-high. Clayton isn’t at the point where he can be relied on in redraft leagues, but there could come a time later in the season when that changes.

Markkanen continues to light it up as a scorer, having tallied at least 26 points in each of his last five appearances. The Jazz forward shot the cover off the ball in San Antonio, and he’s made nearly 52 percent of his attempts over the past two weeks. During this stretch, Markkanen has provided top-5 per-game value in eight-cat formats. At this point, the only thing that could stop him is Utah’s front office prioritizing its draft lottery odds over team success.

One night removed from capping a 31-point game with a game-winning shot, George came through with another excellent performance. Over the past two weeks, he has provided top-10 per-game value in eight-cat formats according to Basketball Monster. Playing on a team that has a poor record can make it difficult to work one’s way into the postseason awards conversation. However, George’s name should come up when discussing the most improved players in the NBA this season. Utah begins a three-game Week 11 at home on Tuesday against the Celtics.

On the heels of a historic 56-point, 16-rebound, 15-assist triple-double earlier this week against the Timberwolves, Jokić finished the first half just three assists shy of a triple-double and accomplished the feat by the end of the third quarter. The 30-year-old generational talent reached the 30-point plateau for the 13th time with a floater in the final two minutes. He sank a pair of free throws in the final seconds to put Denver ahead momentarily in the back-and-forth affair. Jokić leads the NBA in rebounds (12.4) and assists (11.1) and ranks fifth in scoring (29.9) through 31 games. Unreal. The Nuggets are back in action on Monday when they open a four-game week on the road against the Heat.

Murray shot the lights out in the first half, draining 7-of-13, including 2-of-5 from beyond the arc, to finish with a game-high 16 points. He hit a driving floater with 37 seconds left to put Denver back in front but wound up missing a fadeaway at the buzzer. The 28-year-old guard has been excellent of late, averaging 28.6 points, 4.1 rebounds, 6.7 assists, 0.7 assists and 0.1 blocks across seven games over the past two weeks, delivering second-round fantasy value during that span.

Hardaway, who drew the starting assignment with Aaron Gordon (hamstring), Christian Braun (ankle) and Cameron Johnson (knee) out of action, drained a go-ahead three-pointer with just over two minutes left in regulation to put the Nuggets back in front during a back-and-forth affair. The 33-year-old journeyman has scored at least 19 points in four consecutive games, offering some appeal for fantasy managers in deeper leagues.

The Jazz won’t have Ace Bailey for Saturday’s game, as he suffered a left hip flexor strain during Friday’s win over the Pistons. He’s been replaced in the lineup by Sensabaugh, who scored 20 points against Detroit. Bailey left Friday’s win over the Pistons with a left hip flexor strain and will subsequently miss Saturday’s game against the Spurs. If the injury turns out to be serious, Brice Sensabaugh, who dropped 20 points Friday, is worth rostering in deeper formats.

While Sensabaugh has logged consistent rotation minutes since mid-November, his role may expand in the aftermath of Friday’s victory. Ace Bailey exited during the second quarter with a left hip flexor strain, and that may rule him out for a bit. If so, Sensabaugh is well-positioned to provide additional value. The third-year wing matched his season-high with 20 points and finished a blocked shot shy of a complete stat line. If he starts on Saturday against the Spurs, Sensabaugh would be worth the streaming risk in deep leagues.

While Nurkić has recorded a double-double in each of his last two appearances, he had a day off on Tuesday because it was the second game of a back-to-back. With the Jazz visiting the Spurs on Saturday, there’s a good chance the veteran center won’t play. With Kevin Love (14/5/3/1/1 with three three-pointers) playing 16 minutes off the bench, Saturday’s game may be one in which Kyle Filipowski, Taylor Hendricks and even Kyle Anderson figure more prominently in the frontcourt rotation.

Markkanen has recorded 30 points or more in 11 of the 26 games he’s played this season, including Friday’s two-point victory. Production isn’t the concern right now, but availability is. Markkanen has missed four of Utah’s last eight games, including Tuesday’s loss to the Grizzlies, which was the team’s second game in as many nights. That’s important because the Jazz visit the Spurs on Saturday. Fantasy managers should consider him questionable, with Kyle Filipowski (two points, four rebounds and one steal in 11 minutes) in line to benefit if Markkanen sits.

George has been one of the most improved players in the NBA this season, with Friday’s performance rating among his best. Not only did he shoot over 50 percent from the field, but the third-year guard only committed two turnovers. And George’s last play was his most important, as his runner with 2.3 seconds remaining gave Utah the victory. He’s providing third-round value in eight- and nine-cat formats and has shown no signs of slowing down. The Jazz won’t have much time to celebrate their win, as they visit the Spurs on Saturday.

Bailey exited Friday’s game during the second quarter and has been diagnosed with a left hip flexor strain. While Taylor Hendricks entered the lineup at the time of Bailey’s exit, Brice Sensabaugh may be the Jazz player who benefits the most if the rookie has to miss time. At a minimum, Sensabaugh offers a higher offensive ceiling than Hendricks.

There are two changes to the lineup that began Tuesday’s loss to the Grizzlies. Markkanen and Nurkić are back after not playing against Memphis, with Kevin Love and Kyle Filipowski heading to the bench. The stars shine bright on Christmas Day, so it shouldn’t be surprising that Jokić got off to a dominant start to this game. He finished the first quarter with 18 points, five rebounds and four assists, which led to him making history by the end of the night. He became the first player in NBA history to finish with at least 55 points, 15 rebounds and 15 assists in a game. 18 of his points came in the extra frame to secure the win on Christmas Day. Jokić has once again been the best player in fantasy basketball, but even he won’t be able to replicate this performance. This was otherworldly.

Murray’s breakout season continued with another strong performance in this game. He had at least 30 points for the ninth time this season, with six of those coming over his last 10 games. This was also his second straight 30-point double-double, and he fell one three-pointer shy of matching his season high. Murray’s progress this season can be overshadowed by Nikola Jokic’s dominance, but he has provided first-round value this season and should be considered one of the premier options in fantasy basketball for the remainder of the season.

In Denver’s first game without Cameron Johnson (knee), THJ slid into the starting unit. He provided floor spacing and buckets, which is what he will continue to do as long as he is starting. Aaron Gordon (hamstring) and Christian Braun (ankle) will likely return long before Johnson, which could impact THJ’s place in the lineup. However, he can be considered a decent streaming option in points leagues, though he has never been a consistent producer.

Johnson hyperextended his right knee during Tuesday’s loss to the Mavericks and was diagnosed with a bone bruise. With Christian Braun and Aaron Gordon still out, the Nuggets will be down three starters for the foreseeable future. Johnson’s absence opens the door for Bruce Brown and Tim Hardaway Jr. to step up. Hendricks’ offense has prevented him from making an impact for fantasy managers this season, which makes a performance like this one so encouraging. He set a new season high for scoring, which allowed him play a season-high 27 minutes, which led to a new season high for steals. With Lauri Markkanen (groin) and Jusuf Nurkić (rest) sidelined, Filipowski returned to the starting unit for this game. It wasn’t enough for Utah to get a win, but he led the Jazz in scoring and matched his season high for both points and rebounds. Hardaway has put together back-to-back strong games off the bench. He’s typically a streaky shooter, but after scoring 21 points on six triples on Monday, he matched his season high for points and three-pointers in this one. Cameron Johnson injured his knee in this game, which could open up a starting spot for THJ if Johnson ends up missing time. If it doesn’t, it will at least open up more minutes and shots for him.
