Banchero went 0-for-4 from beyond the arc but still finished just two assists shy of a triple-double. Orlando’s perimeter struggles continued, shooting 25 percent (5-of-20) from deep in the first half and falling behind by 17 at the break. The 23-year-old franchise cornerstone has underwhelmed early on relative to fantasy managers’ lofty expectations, averaging 23 points and 10 rebounds through eight games. The Magic will attempt to turn things around on Friday against the defensively-challenged Celtics in a tasty home matchup.

There weren’t a ton of bright spots in this one for Orlando, but da Silva came off the bench to inject some much-needed life, knocking down four of five shots from downtown. The Magic continue to be one of the worst three-point shooting teams in the league, which gives da Silva a chance to carve out a larger role moving forward. He’s scored in double figures five times in eight games to open the season.

Any slow start to the season is certainly behind Cunningham at this point. Over the last three games, he is averaging 28.0 points, 5.7 rebounds, 12.0 assists, 2.0 steals, 1.3 blocks and 2.0 three-pointers while shooting 51.7 percent from the floor. He set a career-high for assists in his last game and set a season-high for points in this one. Cunningham is on a tear, which has led to Detroit’s three-game win streak. It wasn’t a big scoring night for Thompson, but he was still able to make a big impact on this game by setting new season-highs for both steals and blocks. Thompson’s production on the defensive end is what will set him apart in fantasy basketball, and this is the type of performance that fantasy managers hoped for when drafting him. They have three more games this week, with the Jazz up next on the schedule on Wednesday. Utah currently leads the league in turnovers per game, making this a strong opportunity for Thompson to have a big night.

Beef Stew replaced Tobias Harris (ankle) in the starting lineup against Memphis, and it resulted in a monster night for him. It was Stewart’s first start of the season, and he finished with season-highs in points and rebounds while tying his season-high for blocks, assists and three-pointers. Robinson enjoyed his best game as a Piston on Saturday, shooting over 50 percent from the field and notching a season-high point total. The issue thus far has been inconsistency, with Robinson shooting 42.9 percent from the field. Harris had a challenging night in Mexico City, injuring his right ankle during the first half. The good news is that he returned, starting the third quarter, and played 35 minutes. That said, Harris never looked entirely comfortable after the injury and struggled with his shot throughout. While he isn’t too far off from his Yahoo! Saturday’s game in Mexico City was the “Cade and Jalen Show,” as Cunningham and starting center Jalen Duren were dominant for the Pistons. Cade matched his career-high with 18 assists and only committed one turnover. Cunningham’s two issues from a fantasy standpoint thus far have been turnovers and field goal percentage, as he’s averaging 3.8 turnovers and shooting 40.2 percent from the field. Neither was an issue on Saturday, allowing the Pistons to pull away down the stretch.

Unsurprisingly, a Mavericks team playing without Anthony Davis and Dereck Lively II due to injury had no answer for Duren in Mexico City. The fourth-year center spent the entirety of his time on the offensive end in the restricted area, where he attempted all 16 of his shots. In addition to recording his third double-double in six games, Duren notched his second career 30-point game. Shooting 63.8 percent from the field and 84.6 percent from the foul line, he’s providing top-50 value in nine-cat formats, exceeding his Yahoo! ADP (56). The Pistons play four games during Week 3, starting with the Grizzlies on Monday.

Carter recorded his second double-double of the season on Saturday, finishing one rebound shy of his season-high. Over his last two games, the Magic center has scored 34 points on 9-of-12 shooting from the field. Back in the Magic lineup after sitting out Thursday’s win over the Hornets, Suggs had a rough night from beyond the arc. He missed all seven three-point attempts, sinking his overall field-goal percentage. However, Suggs did rack up five steals, which was an excellent development for category-league managers and DFS players, as he salvaged something from Saturday’s effort. While Orlando plays three games during Week 3, it ends with a Sunday/Monday back-to-back, potentially limiting Suggs to two games. The Magic were without starting point guard Jalen Suggs on Thursday, as the game was the team’s second in as many nights. While Tyus Jones (five points, one steal and one three-pointer in 14 minutes) started the first game that Suggs missed, Black was tabbed to fill the void on Thursday, taking on the task of defending LaMelo Ball. While solid defensively, the third-year guard had his best offensive night of the season, scoring 20 points and shooting 3-of-6 from beyond the arc. Franz Wagner and Paolo Banchero handled most of the playmaking for the starters, but this did not negatively impact Black’s production. Could Duren be in for a breakout season this year? The easiest path to a breakout would be an injury to Isaiah Stewart, which would mean more minutes on a regular basis for Duren. On Wednesday, the 21-year-old center played 33 minutes, though. Another way Duren could breakout is that the Pistons simply need his scoring to win games this year. The Pistons have three wins after five games. In those wins, Duren has scored at least 20 points twice and in the other game he was ejected after playing 12 minutes.
