Both Tristan Vukcevic and Bub Carrington started in place of Middleton and Kyshawn George (knee) on Wednesday, but they will likely return to the bench with both Middleton and George not on the injury report. However, Washington is focused on lottery odds, so it’s unclear if Middleton will play a significant role.

George will be back after missing Wednesday’s game against Utah. Tristan Vukcevic moved into the starting lineup with George sidelined, while JT Thor, Colby Jones and Jaylen Martin all played significant roles off the bench. George’s return should push Vukcevic back to the bench, and Washington really balanced out the rotation against Utah to help improve their lottery odds. They shouldn’t have to do that against Orlando.

Jones played 25 minutes in his second game with the Wizards on Monday and had just two points against the Trail Blazers. The 22-year-old shooting guard was much better this time around. He dropped 24 points on 11 shots and made all four of his 3-point attempts. While Jones benefitted from Kyshawn George being out with a knee injury, it’s possible he’s earned himself more minutes with this performance. He could have value in deeper formats if that’s the case.

Sarr has now scored at least 20 points in three straight games and now has seven games with 20 points in his rookie season. The 19-year-old center is starting to come into his own down the stretch of a lost season for the Wizards. Sarr has been a 10th-round player in eight-category leagues since the All-Star break. The Wizards have upgraded Poole’s and Smart’s statuses for Wednesday’s game. While the former was initially doubtful, the latter was ruled out on the team’s first injury report. Things are starting to click for Sarr. After scoring a career-high 34 points on Saturday, he had the sixth 20-point game of his career on Monday. Four of those have come in his last 10 appearances. The No. 2 overall pick may not be in conversations for Rookie of the Year, but he is reminding the world of why he was such a coveted prospect last summer. He won’t turn 20 until after the season, but he is already showcasing elite talent in multiple areas of his game. Washington still has three more games this week for him to keep it up.

Vukcevic hasn’t been a consistent part of Washington’s rotation, but after not seeing the floor for three games, he was able to pick up where he left off in his previous appearance. Vukcevic has scored in double figures in each of his last two games and has at least seven rebounds, one steal, one block and two triples in three straight games. For the first time in his career, the rookie was part of the starting lineup. He didn’t turn in a monster stat line, but Johnson was productive during his 35 minutes on the court, even if he was inefficient. Johnson just turned 20 years old in December, and Washington will make sure to get him plenty of development reps down the stretch of the season. This was an important milestone for him, and it wouldn’t be surprising if it wasn’t the last start of the season for him.

In comparison to some other rookies in this class, Holland has flown under the radar at times during his first season in the league. Detroit has been too competitive for him to play a significant role, but he has been productive when given the opportunity. This wasn’t a monster performance by any means, but it was an encouraging one for dynasty managers. Holland won’t turn 20 years old until July, so any glimpses of upside at this point are great to see.

The lopsided score in favor of Detroit helped Fontecchio set a new season-high for scoring in this game. He did an excellent job during cleanup time and scored 18 of his 23 points in the second half. Fontecchio also made all five of his attempts from deep. It was a fantastic night for him, but this isn’t something that managers should get used to. He has averaged 6.3 points, 3.1 rebounds and 1.1 triples per game this season, which has him ranked outside the top-300 in nine-cat leagues.

While the rest of the starters’ production was capped by the lopsided score, Cunningham was still able to turn in a strong line in the massive win. It certainly could have been a bigger night if New Orleans was able to keep this game somewhere close. Blowouts have limited Cunningham at times over the past month, but he was still able to be on the floor long enough to make up for Saturday’s 11-point performance that ended early following an ejection. After a four-game run in which he averaged 9.8 points per game on 41.9 percent shooting, George was considerably better on Saturday. He’s scored 19 points or more twice since the All-Star break, but offense isn’t where the rookie has been most valuable this season. Sarr was outstanding in Denver, as he recorded a season-high point total and an overall line that many fantasy managers will be pleased with. Duren extended his double-double streak to four games on Thursday, though it wasn’t enough to get a win. What a monster night it was for Cunningham. This was his sixth-straight game with at least 25 points, and he added another double-double, along with plenty of defensive production. Cunningham isn’t known for having a generous whistle, but he lived at the foul line on Thursday. He shattered his previous career-highs of 13 free throws made and 13 free throws attempted in a game. Though he only played 25 minutes because of the lopsided score, Duren was able to record his third-straight double-double on Tuesday. He continues to be a double-double machine with an excellent field goal percentage, and the blocks have been hit-or-miss. Prior to having two swats in this game, he went three straight games without one. Before that stretch, he had 10 in two games. Still, Duren ranks inside the top-50 in nine-cat value over the past two weeks and will look to keep that up over Detroit’s final two games of the week.

Sunday’s game was his 11th with at least 20, and he’s providing top 75 value in eight-cat formats since the All-Star break. While he shot the ball well on Sunday, turnovers were an issue for Cunningham. One night removed from committing nine turnovers in a loss to the Warriors, he was responsible for eight against the Trail Blazers. High-turnover nights have been rare for Cunningham, which has been one of the areas of significant improvement for him this season. A top-10 player in eight-cat formats since the All-Star break, Cade is ranked just outside the top 25 in nine-cat.
