Jones Jr. went perfect from the field before finishing as one of the Clippers’ three best scorers on the evening. He repeatedly stepped into his three-point shots confidently and proceeded to knock each catch-and-shoot triple down one after the other. Jones Jr. eventually concluded with the most threes in a game that he’s made as a Clipper. The two produced stocks were the cherry on top for what was a productive night for him overall.

Leonard bounced back from a poor 10-point, 3-of-9 shooting performance in the Clippers’ blowout loss to the Jazz on Wednesday by nearly scoring 30 in a one-sided win over the Suns on Friday. The two-time Finals MVP ramped things up in the second quarter on the offensive end, which gave him the boost that ultimately led him to finish as one of the two highest scorers in the game. Leonard performed well on both ends of the floor and remains capable of having dominant outings on a nightly basis.

Harden needed only 28 minutes to reach 30 points on Friday, using high efficiency on low volume, and production from the free-throw line to do so. The 14-point first quarter did the heavy lifting, while solid work on the glass and usual productivity as a facilitator rounded out his performance. Harden didn’t play during the fourth quarter due to the lopsided score, but still concluded with a productive game.

One of the bright spots for the Warriors’ offense on Friday was their ability to produce from the three-point line. Green trailed only Stephen Curry in total made threes on the night and has now made six threes this season. He also functioned well as one of the main facilitators, although his five turnovers are notable in regard to fantasy basketball. Still, Green had a solid outing in his 21 minutes, which could have been even better if the lopsided score hadn’t limited his time on the court.

Butler logged his least productive outing of the season thus far in the loss to the Blazers. He set season-lows in points and rebounds, didn’t make a three-pointer for the first time through three games, and only got up seven shot attempts in 27 minutes of game action. Notably, the Warriors were on the second night of a back-to-back after going to overtime against the Nuggets the day before. Regardless, Butler’s final line isn’t one that fantasy managers will likely be celebrating.

Father Time does not appear to have a hold on Curry just yet. On the second night of a back-to-back, the former league MVP dazzled from beyond the arc and scored efficiently overall before finishing with his second straight game of at least 35 points. Curry’s production came in just 27 minutes of play, likely due to the large deficit the Warriors sustained deep into the second half. Nonetheless, the veteran guard was productive on both ends of the floor and logged another strong fantasy basketball performance.

Post replaces Brandin Podziemski in the starting lineup on Friday to mark the first starting lineup change of the season for the Warriors. The second-year big man will bring additional frontcourt size to the opening unit on the second night of a back-to-back as the Warriors look to remain undefeated and move to 3-0 on the season.

Moody, who injured his left calf during the preseason, missed the first two regular-season games. His return gives the Warriors additional depth on the wings, possibly resulting in fewer minutes for Will Richard. The rookie played 17 minutes in Thursday’s win over the Nuggets. While Richard’s playing time won’t impact fantasy basketball, Moody’s return will, especially as his minutes increase.

Horford didn’t do much in his debut for the Warriors, but he was able to turn in a solid line in his second game for the team, which included a clutch triple in overtime to give the Warriors a lead. This was the first night of a back-to-back, so Horford won’t play against the Trail Blazers on Friday. That should open the door for Quinten Post to fill in the backup center minutes.

Butler was the standout of Tuesday’s win over the Lakers, and he was solid in this one to help the Warriors start the year 2-0. Butler missed one of his eight free throw attempts, so he’s now 23-of-24 this season. He’ll continue to provide well-rounded stats this season, and if he can stay healthy, his Yahoo! ADP of 50.3 is going to look like a steal. He’ll look to keep things going in Portland on Friday.

Curry got hot like only he can late in this game. He scored 15 points in the fourth quarter, which included a game-tying triple with 22 seconds left to force overtime, before adding seven more points in the extra period. His first outing of the season was fine, but this is the type of performance that we’ve seen so often from Curry that solidifies him as one of the all-time greats. He’ll look to stay hot in Portland on Friday on the second night of a back-to-back.

Harden didn’t exactly lift his team up in this one. While he didn’t play as poorly as Kawhi Leonard, The Beard had just 15 points on 12 shots and was 2-of-9 from behind the three-point line. The Clippers will just have to move past this embarrassing season opening loss to the Jazz and hope it’s not a harbinger for the rest of the season.

In one of the biggest upsets of Wednesday’s NBA action, the Clippers didn’t show up for the season opener in Utah. Leonard wasn’t without blame in this one. The 24-year-old forward had just 10 points on 3-of-9 shooting in 29 minutes. Kawhi was 1-of-5 from behind the three-point line, turned the ball over twice and was -25 in the 21-point loss to the Jazz. Given all the injuries in his past, fantasy managers shudder to think that this is one of the healthy games they’ll get from Leonard this year.

Horford not playing both games of a back-to-back is unsurprising, as that became the norm during his second stint with the Celtics. That will carry over to the Warriors, with the veteran center already ruled out for the second game of Golden State’s upcoming back-to-back. While the Clippers brought in Bradley Beal and Chris Paul this offseason, Beal is the one who moves into the starting lineup for the season opener. After being under restrictions regarding his availability for back-to-backs in recent seasons, Horford was limited to 20 minutes on Tuesday. That factored into the Warriors’ decision to start Jonathan Kuminga, shifting Draymond Green (8/7/9/1/2 with one three-pointer) into the starting center role while Horford came off the bench. The approach worked against the Lakers, but fantasy managers invested in Horford aren’t in a great spot. One has to assume that his availability for back-to-backs will remain in doubt, but the playing time may be something that few bargained for. Horford averaged nearly 28 minutes per game last season; hopefully, he can get close to that as the 2025-26 campaign rolls on.

After scoring five points and making one three-pointer in the first half, Hield knocked down four triples in the third and fourth quarters to help the Warriors gain control of the season opener. He didn’t provide much value beyond points and three-pointers, but that’s the expectation for Hield, especially in his current role. Category league managers needing triples can consider rostering Buddy Buckets if he’s sitting on the waiver wire, but his fantasy ceiling is limited.

Following Jimmy Butler III’s addition to the Warriors’ roster in February, the prevailing thought was that he and Kuminga could not be on the court together very often due to spacing reasons. They looked comfortable in Tuesday’s season opener, especially with Kuminga shooting 4-of-6 from beyond the arc. However, it’s fair to question if that is sustainable for a career 33.2 percent shooter. Last season, Kuminga made a career-low 30.5 percent of his three-point attempts, making multiple triples in 14 of his 47 regular-season appearances. Tuesday’s effort was encouraging, but more production is needed before buying into Kuminga as a perimeter shooter.

Due to a 2-of-10 night from beyond the arc, Curry’s field-goal percentage took a hit in Tuesday’s season opener. However, he frequently visited the foul line, which boosted the veteran guard’s point tally. Add in a complete stat line, including three steals, and there wasn’t much for fantasy managers to complain about regarding Curry’s performance. Last season, Curry only had five games in which he recorded at least three steals, so Tuesday’s effort should not be considered the norm.

Adding Butler to the Warriors’ roster just before the February trade deadline changed the equation offensively due to his ability to get to the foul line. The influence continued into Tuesday’s season opener, as the veteran forward attempted 16 free throws. The Warriors outscored the Lakers by a 26-17 margin at the foul line in a game they would win by 10 points. Butler finished the victory a blocked shot shy of a complete stat line, and the offensive efficiency was impressive. As long as Butler is consistently available, this could be a big season for him fantasy-wise.

Kuminga (ankle) and Butler (ankle) were initially probable for Tuesday’s season opener, so the starting lineup announcement means they’re good to go. The Warriors will go without a traditional center to begin Tuesday’s game, with Green moving to the five while Al Horford will come off the bench. If Kuminga can retain the starting role, his fantasy value should improve after a lackluster 2024-25 campaign.

The Curry brothers will have to wait a bit before they can share the court as teammates for the first time in their basketball careers, but it’s expected to happen at some point this season. ESPN’s Anthony Slater reports that the Warriors’ decision to waive Seth is solely because of the team’s need for salary cap flexibility. Golden State is right up against the second apron and doesn’t have the financial room to take a full 15-man roster into the regular season. However, that will change next month, when Curry is expected to rejoin the team. The Warriors will have 14 players on standard contracts when they open their season on Tuesday against the Lakers. Seth will provide additional three-point shooting off the bench once he rejoins the Warriors.

Curry logged 30 minutes in the Warriors’ final tune-up game before the regular season begins. In his time on the court, he was productive from beyond the arc, as usual, and made contributions as a facilitator along the way. The veteran center’s late offseason signing gave him little runway to get acclimated with the team prior to the start of the regular season.
