Leonard shot the ball well in Saturday’s series opener, but the issue is what happened when he was not shooting. The Klaw committed a game-high seven turnovers, and the last thing a team can afford to do in the postseason is give away possessions. However, there should not be too much concern if Leonard’s regular-season production is an indication of what’s to come. He only had five games with at least four turnovers. Leonard will look to bounce back in Game 2 on Monday.

Zubac had his hands full defending Nikola Jokić in Saturday’s series opener. That task did not prevent him from doing his job offensively, with the Clippers’ center shooting 66.7 percent from the field and recording an efficient double-double. Zubac has been one of the most improved players in the NBA this season, and his play on both ends of the floor will be critical in this series. The Clippers and Nuggets meet again in Game 2 on Monday.

Despite getting into first-half foul trouble, Harden had an excellent afternoon in Denver. While the production did not net the Clippers a victory in Game 1, The Beard made 50 percent of his shots and only committed two turnovers. Regardless of who the Nuggets assign to him defensively, this has the potential to be a massive series for Harden numbers-wise. He and the Clippers will look to earn a road split when they face the Nuggets in Game 2 on Monday.

Batum practiced fully on Wednesday, so it isn’t surprising that he will be available to play in Game 1 against Denver. The Clippers haven’t released an official injury report yet, but Batum should play his usual role off the bench, which was 17.5 minutes per game during the regular season.

After injuring his groin during an April 9 game against Houston, Batum did not play in the Clippers’ final two regular-season games. Wednesday’s practice was the team’s first time on the court since their overtime win over the Warriors on Sunday, and Batum was among the participants. The veteran forward, who will reportedly be re-evaluated on Wednesday, was a full participant in the session, which bodes well for Batum. The Clippers won’t begin their first-round series against the Nuggets until Saturday, so there’s still time for Batum to recover from his injury.

Green did not provide much value as a scorer, which is par for his course. But he was impactful in other ways, including recording a team-high 10 assists and four “stocks.” With Stephen Curry and Jimmy Butler leading the way offensively, Green’s mastery of the “little things” will be critical in Golden State’s first-round matchup with Houston. Game 1 is on Sunday night.

While his injured right thumb remains problematic, it did not keep Curry from showing up when it mattered most on Tuesday. The Warriors guard scored 15 of the team’s final 19 points, as Golden State avoided blowing a game they led by as much as 20. Curry shot 3-of-4 from beyond the arc during the fourth quarter, and his two free throws with 3.4 seconds remaining sealed the outcome. Golden State’s reward is much-needed time off and a matchup with the Rockets. Game 1 is scheduled for Sunday in Houston.

Tuesday’s Play-In tournament matchup was not an official playoff game, but it was the Warriors fans’ official introduction to Butler as a postseason weapon. While he did not record the best free-throw percentage, racking up 18 attempts cannot be ignored. Butler has added a needed dimension to the Warriors on both ends of the floor, especially offensively. His ability to work out of the post and get to the foul line will be vital in the playoffs, which the Warriors will begin on Sunday in Houston in a 2/7 matchup.

Batum missed the Clippers’ final two regular-season games after injuring his groin on Wednesday, not even traveling up the coast for matchups with the Kings and Warriors. Butler injured his thigh during Sunday’s overtime loss to the Clippers. Butler’s final stat line on Sunday was outstanding but came with some pain. He took a Kawhi Leonard knee to the left thigh during overtime but stayed in the game. That injury, combined with Stephen Curry’s right thumb, is why the Warriors could have used the time off that would have come with a victory over the Clippers. Instead, Butler and the Warriors will host the Grizzlies on Tuesday. Following the game, Butler said he was fine and will be in the lineup, but don’t be surprised if Jimmy is on the initial injury report.

While the addition of Jimmy Butler has negatively impacted Jonathan Kuminga’s (DNP-CD on Sunday) playing time and fantasy value, that has not been the case for Podziemski. The second-year guard has played well since the February trade deadline, providing eighth-round value in eight- and nine-cat formats. Podziemski’s emergence will be key for the Warriors, as they’ll need to beat Memphis on Tuesday to earn the seventh seed in the West. Houston will be the first-round opponent for the winner of that game, while the loser plays the Sacramento/Dallas winner for the eighth seed.

Curry has been dealing with a right thumb injury, the severity of which has not been made public. With that in mind, it would have been nice for the Warriors to win Sunday’s game, as they would have avoided the play-in tournament. Instead, they’ll host Memphis on Tuesday, with the winner being the seventh seed in the West. The good news for Curry and the Warriors was that he shot the ball well on Sunday, but he must clean up the turnovers after committing eight against the Clippers.

Leonard was outstanding on Sunday, as the Clippers’ overtime victory gave the team the fifth seed in the West. His workload was just as encouraging as Leonard’s production, as he played 47 of 53 minutes without issues. Harden recorded the 80th triple-double of his career and made a few big plays late to help the Clippers secure the win. He also had a few rough plays down the stretch that nearly cost them, including two missed free throws and a turnover that gave the Kings the ball with two seconds left and a chance to win. It has been an excellent season for Harden, and he has really picked up his play recently as the Clippers push for a higher seed in the playoffs. This was the 14th-straight double-double for Zubac, which is the longest active streak in the league and the fifth-longest streak this season. Only Domantas Sabonis (24, 18), Giannis Antetokounmpo (19) and Karl-Anthony Towns (18) have had longer double-double streaks this year. Zubac has had a fantastic season and has only improved as the year progressed. Hield isn’t going to surprise anyone at this point of his career. The 32-year-old shooting guard only played 23 minutes, but he took as many shots as anyone on the Warriors with 14 attempts. Curry made the wrong kind of personal history on Sunday. The three points are the fewest he’s scored in a game in which he’s attempted at least 10 shots in his NBA career. The Rockets used multiple defenders on Curry throughout Sunday’s game, and they were able to shut him down. Houston’s success may be bad news for the Suns, who will host the Warriors on Tuesday. After scoring 54 points across his prior two appearances, Podziemski was not as prolific against the Rockets. That’s unsurprising, as Houston boasts one of the best defenses in the NBA. With Stephen Curry having a historically poor night, Hield was one of the Warriors who attempted to shoulder some of the workload. The 20 points were the most he’s scored in a game since March 10, when he hit that number in a win over the Trail Blazers. Harden recorded his second points/assists double-double in three games on Saturday, with the 14 helpers being the most he’s recorded in a game since March 4. Zubac may not be a popular name in most mainstream conversations regarding the Most Improved Player award, but he deserves to be mentioned. Saturday’s game went as well as the Clippers could have hoped regarding Leonard. For the first time this season, he played both games of a back-to-back. Also, Leonard was effective while on the court and only needed to play for 25 minutes. Kawhi has been on fire over the past month, providing top-10 value in eight- and nine-cat formats. The Clippers’ four-game Week 23 begins with a Tuesday/Wednesday back-to-back, and one of those games is against a team headed to the lottery in San Antonio.
