His absence factored into Brooks Barnhizer playing eight minutes off the bench, while starter Aaron Wiggins logged 32. Having recorded back-to-back 20-point games for the first time since mid-December, Butler could not extend that run to three on Friday. While the rebounds and assists were solid, this is part of the issue for fantasy managers. While capable of doing a lot more, many nights feel as if he hasn’t done much more than what’s required. The fantasy ranking may be good, but one can’t blame managers for lamenting what they’re missing on most nights regarding Butler’s production.

A big part of Melton’s fantasy appeal is his ability to record complete stat lines. That didn’t happen on Friday, but the Warriors’ guard had one of his best offensive performances of the season. The 19 points were three shy of his season-high, which was recorded on Wednesday against the Bucks. Melton has been a safe bet for assists and defensive stats in the past, so there isn’t too much need for concern following Friday’s lack of numbers in those categories. And he played 19 minutes; if Melton can consistently get closer to 25 minutes, he can be a game-changer down the stretch in fantasy leagues.

Curry and the Warriors pulled away with a dominant fourth quarter, outscoring the Kings by a 40-19 margin and winning by a 137-104 final score. And he didn’t make a shot during the final frame, missing both of his attempts and then watching the final four-plus minutes from the bench. Curry did enough before the fourth quarter to offer solid value, and he finished with a season-high 10 assists and his second double-double of the season. Over the past two weeks, Curry has been a top-10 player in eight- and nine-cat formats.

Chet Holmgren joining Isaiah Hartenstein and Jaylin Williams on the sidelines did not push “Kenny Hustle” into the starting lineup, but it did guarantee him more playing time. Williams made the most of his opportunity, recording season-highs in points, rebounds and three-pointers. He’s rostered in less than one percent of Yahoo! leagues, so there weren’t many fantasy managers willing to roll the dice. Williams’ night should only influence the thinking of fantasy managers if the Thunder are just as shorthanded for Sunday’s game against the Heat.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander was unavailable for Friday’s game, which led to a spot start for Mitchell. Despite coming off the bench on most nights, the second-year guard has been productive enough to merit being rostered in some 12-team formats, so Friday’s output was unsurprising. Over the past two weeks, Mitchell has offered top-75 per-game value in eight- and nine-cat formats. If SGA remains out for Sunday’s game against the Heat, fantasy managers should not hesitate to stream Mitchell if he’s sitting on the waiver wire.

Playing without Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Chet Holmgren, among others, Friday’s game was one in which the Thunder appeared to be at a serious disadvantage. And they would trail by 21 points during the third quarter, seemingly underlining that assumption. However, Williams and the other available Thunder didn’t accept that, going on a 14-0 run to take the lead in the final minute. J-Dub didn’t score any of those 14 points, but his 26 beforehand helped Oklahoma City stay afloat. The Thunder end Week 12 with a home game against the Heat on Sunday.

Melton’s season-best performance wasn’t highlighted by any extraordinary takeover moments. The veteran guard never scored more than eight points in any quarter; instead, he picked his spots en route to setting a new season-high. Melton got a late start to the season due to a knee injury that kept him out until December. But since returning, he’s had several good scoring performances to boost this Warriors bench. Butler notched back-to-back 20-point games for the first time since mid-December, making use of the free-throw line to accomplish such. His scoring did the heavy lifting for his fantasy production.

One game after fouling out against the Clippers, Curry went without a foul on Wednesday and logged 34 minutes against the Bucks. On the court, the two-time MVP shot the ball very well from the floor and posted a 13-point third quarter to help ultimately reach the 30-point mark on the evening. Williams had a solid outing, functioning as OKC’s main facilitator on Wednesday. He led the Thunder in assists before finishing just shy of the 20-point mark in the overtime victory. Fantasy managers will hope for better shooting going forward, especially from the three-point line, to pair with the current level of playmaking he’s displayed for a second straight season. Finding his rhythm from deep would also help get his overall production up to where it was a season ago.

Holmgren delivered his best performance of the calendar year, putting on a two-way clinic to help end the Thunder’s two-game skid. In his season-high 40 minutes of game action, Holmgren led his team in blocks, was the only OKC player to collect double-digit rebounds, and finished as one of two to score at least 20 points. Struggles from the free-throw line and from beyond the arc prevented him from finishing with greater scoring totals. Still, he had an impactful night and should be in line for another good outing on Friday against the Grizzlies.

Gilgeous-Alexander was exceptional in the overtime win, going for 40-plus points for the first time since November. He scored efficiently after a couple of bad shooting performances, which helped OKC end a two-game losing streak. Oklahoma City led by as many as 18 but faltered down the home stretch as Phoenix rallied late to pull out a comeback win.
