Butler was a game-time call for Monday’s game with a sore lower back, but he’s good to go. Butler played 38 minutes in Sunday’s overtime loss to the Raptors; the Warriors could take steps to reduce his workload. If so, Gary Payton II could figure more prominently in the rotation after playing 12 minutes on Sunday.

Curry reached 39 points for the third time in seven contests since returning from a five-game absence back on December 12 and could’ve had an even bigger night in this one since he shot an uncharacteristic 36.4 percent (4-of-11) from three-point range. He made up for it by getting to the charity stripe for 11 free-throw attempts, his highest single-game total since November 12. The 37-year-old sharpshooter is averaging 28.9 points, 4.1 rebounds, 4.3 assists, 1.3 steals and 0.5 blocks through 23 games this season. The Warriors are back in action on Monday to complete a back-to-back with a showdown against the Nets before closing out a four-game week with matchups against the Hornets, Thunder and Jazz.

Green’s offensive abilities have never been his signature calling card. However, he managed to come through in this one with a surprising 20-point effort where he knocked down eight of his season-high 14 shot attempts, including 4-of-8 from three-point range. The mercurial 35-year-old defensive specialist isn’t much of a fantasy option at this stage of his career, averaging just 8.5 points, 6.0 rebounds, 5.1 assists, 0.9 steals and 0.8 blocks through 26 games this season.

Black continues to shoulder more of the scoring workload for the Magic with Franz Wagner (ankle) still on the shelf, scoring 20-plus points in five of his last six games. He poured in 16 first-half points, hitting 3-of-5 from downtown, while the rest of the Magic went an absurd 0-for-13 from three-point range. He converted a clutch layup with 1:06 left in regulation to put Orlando in front during a back-and-forth slugfest that came down the wire. He also played phenomenal defense against Jamal Murray on the game’s final possession forcing him into a tough fadeaway that clanged off the iron. The Magic are back in action when they kick off a four-game week on Monday against the Raptors.

Black was one of the few bright spots for Orlando in this one as they continued to struggle offensively without Franz Wagner (ankle) in the lineup. He drained 6-of-12 shots, including 3-of-5 from three-point range, scoring a team-high 15 points in the first half. He cooled off a bit in the second half but was the lone Magic starter to cross the 20-point threshold. He’s put together a nice stretch over the past week, averaging 21.3 points, 5.5 rebounds, 4.5 assists, 1.0 steals and 0.5 blocks over five games during that span. The Magic wrap up a back-to-back on Saturday night against the Nuggets before kicking off a four-game week that includes two games against the Pacers along with the Raptors and Bulls.

Yikes. Banchero’s ice-cold stretch continued in this one as he was held to 13 points or fewer for the second straight contest. The 23-year-old franchise cornerstone has been stuck in a rut offensively for the better part of the last two weeks, averaging just 19.7 points, 9.3 rebounds, 5.7 assists, 0.7 steals and 0.5 blocks over that six-game stretch, delivering abysmal 13th-round fantasy value during that span. Orlando’s persistent offensive struggles aren’t going to vanish overnight but they’ll get Franz Wagner (ankle) back at some point soon which should help elevate the rest of their secondary scorers. However, they need Banchero to elevate his game if they’re going to be a true contender in the Eastern Conference.

Thursday’s performance was a reminder that Melton does not need to be a starter to provide tangible fantasy value. He played 24 minutes off the bench against the Mavericks, recording a complete stat line. Melton’s field-goal percentage wasn’t the best, but his getting up a season-high 14 shots was encouraging. Hopefully, he can build on this effort, as the Warriors guard averaged 3.4 points on 14.3 percent shooting in the five games prior.

Thursday’s game was the first for Horford since December 4, and the veteran center did not wait to make a positive impression. He hit his first four three-point attempts, scoring 12 points in the first quarter. Horford did not provide much beyond the game’s first 12 minutes, logging only 11 minutes on the day. Butler’s all-around game was on display Thursday afternoon, with the veteran forward finishing one rebound and one assist shy of a triple-double. For the season, he has been a third-round player in eight- and nine-cat formats. Curry has traditionally struggled on Christmas Day, and he had a rough evening shooting the basketball. However, the Warriors guard still led the team in scoring, with a perfect night at the foul line boosting the final point total. After totaling eight points on 3-of-14 shooting in his two previous games, Moody enjoyed one of his best nights of the season on Monday. This was his first game with at least 20 points in over a month and fifth of the season. Butler got off to a good start on Monday, scoring 16 first-half points. With Stephen Curry shooting 3-of-13 from the field, the veteran forward stepped up at a good time. With Curry getting hot in the third quarter, Butler took a back seat, so the final stat line was a bit underwhelming when considering what could have been. On a night when Draymond Green only played eight minutes due to his ejection, Richard stepped up and gave the Warriors valuable contributions off the bench. The rookie’s 20 points were the most in a game for him since November 5, when he dropped a season-high 30. Scoring-wise, Butler has kicked things up a notch, totaling 56 points in his last two games. Unfortunately for category league managers, his production in other categories has slipped.
