Post only played eight minutes in Monday’s loss to the Nuggets, with Denver’s decision not to play Nikola Jokic factoring into the rookie’s lack of playing time. Post is dealing with a right ankle impingement, and the Warriors could choose to start Draymond Green at the five if the rookie cannot play. As for Podziemski, Tuesday is reportedly the day the Warriors have targeted for his return from a strained back. If available, he can absorb some of the minutes that would have gone to Stephen Curry, who will not play on Tuesday.

Curry has been dealing with a back injury recently. While the injury hadn’t forced him to miss any time yet, Curry has been laboring in recent games. He’ll sit out Tuesday’s game, Golden State’s second in as many nights. Buddy Hield and Gary Payton II will have added importance within the Warriors’ rotation, and Brandin Podziemski is expected to return from a strained back.

With Stephen Curry struggling, Butler picked up the slack on the offensive end to lead Golden State in scoring. However, he had his own uncharacteristic struggles at the free throw line, which prevented him from having a better night. Steve Kerr said that they will consider resting Curry against Milwaukee on Tuesday, which should mean extra usage for Butler. However, there is a chance that Butler also gets a rest night. Keep a close eye on the injury report.

Green did a bit of everything in this game and came close to recording a 5x5. Aside from his four turnovers, this was an excellent night in the box score for him. Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough for Golden State to maintain their winning ways and take advantage of Denver missing Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray. Steve Kerr said that Stephen Curry could rest against the Bucks on Tuesday, and it’s unclear if that will extend to Green. If he plays, Green should continue to be a strong option in the box score.

Curry struggled during Monday’s loss to Denver; he shot 6-of-21 from the floor and turned the ball over seven times against a shorthanded Nuggets squad. Kerr described Curry as both “tired” and “exhausted,” which is certainly a reason to consider resting him on the second night of a back-to-back. This would also line up with the expected return of Brandin Podziemski (back), and Gary Payton II has played well in recent weeks, which would help make up for the potential absence of Curry. Jimmy Butler III and Draymond Green would likely take on extra playmaking responsibility.

GP2 was one of Golden State’s best sources of offense in the first half, which was a factor in him starting the second half over Quinten Post. 11 of his 18 points came before the break, and while he wasn’t able to match that production in the second half, he was still able to have a productive night. GP2 isn’t known as a reliable option in fantasy basketball, but he has provided fifth-round value in nine-cat leagues. That is enough for him to warrant consideration as a streaming option, especially if Stephen Curry gets a rest night on Tuesday.

Just before the All-Star break, Clingan had two monster performances that had fantasy managers scrambling to add him off the waiver wire. Unfortunately, he hasn’t been able to live up to those expectations, but he has been better as of late. He failed to block a shot in this game, which was uncharacteristic, but he recorded his second double-double since the All-Star break. The rookie still has plenty of upside, and there is no threat to his place in the starting unit at this time. He’ll have games where he struggles, but Portland will prioritize his development and allow him to play through those.

Aside from a dud against New York last week, this has been an excellent stretch for Simons. He has scored at least 20 points in four of his last five games and at least 30 points in three of those. What made his performance on Monday even more impressive was that he only played 23 minutes. This was a second-straight win for Portland, and they currently sit just three games out of the Play-In Tournament. As long as there is a chance they can sneak in, Simons should continue to be a viable option.

With Toumani Camara (calf) sidelined on the second night of a back-to-back, Murray was part of the starting unit for the third time this season. While his first two starts were disappointing, Murray played well in this game. He didn’t do much scoring, but he set a new season-high for rebounds and finished with four steals for the second time in his last three appearances. Murray was solid in the increased opportunity, but it is unlikely that he remains in the starting unit moving forward, which will prevent him from contributing any value.

In addition to Jerami Grant, the Trail Blazers are without Toumani Camara for Monday’s game. Warriors coach Steve Kerr said before Saturday’s win over the Knicks that he hopes to get Podziemski back on Tuesday, and the second-year guard remains on track to return then. Dealing with a lower back strain, Curry’s availability will significantly impact the Warriors and fantasy basketball. Thybulle, who struggled with knee and ankle injuries, made his season debut on Sunday. While he only played six minutes, the Trail Blazers wing didn’t take long to show why he can be valuable to fantasy managers. Thybulle recorded two steals during his first stint on the court, and his block of an Orlando Robinson three-point attempt in the final seconds preserved the victory. There’s no need to consider adding Thybulle due to the playing time, but seeing him on the court was good. Clingan did not provide much value as a scorer on Sunday, but that has been the norm for the rookie center. However, he’s most valuable as a rebounder and defender, so fantasy managers should be pleased with the production. Clingan has grabbed nine rebounds or more in five straight and six of his last seven outings, with Sunday’s 14 caroms the most in a game since February 12. He has also recorded 10 blocked shots in his last three games. Fantasy managers seeking rebounds and blocks can do much worse than Clingan, who’s rostered in 32 percent of Yahoo! leagues.

Camara’s name may not come up in conversations regarding the NBA’s most improved players, but the Blazers must be pleased with what they’ve seen from him.
