Eason was ruled out with an oblique injury, though his return to the court for the first time since November 14 isn’t far off. He could be available for either or potentially both of the Rockets’ games this weekend. Once Eason is back, he’ll likely take some minutes from Jabari Smith Jr. and Josh Okogie.

Harden played through the calf issue on Monday but was a shell of himself in a blowout loss to the Grizzlies. Bogdan Bogdanović could be the replacement in the starting lineup, which would raise his fantasy ceiling. Also, Kris Dunn’s usage should increase slightly with Harden unavailable.

This is the second straight game that Eason has been listed as questionable, but he was ruled out for Monday’s game. Still, as he gets back up to speed, he’ll likely take away some minutes from Jabari Smith Jr. and Josh Okogie.

Harden played through a calf issue against the Grizzlies and had one of his least productive offensive outings of the season. He was held under 15 points for the third time all season failed to reach his season average in assists. The former MVP did add fantasy value by collecting at least three steals for the third game in a row. But needless to say, Monday’s performance didn’t meet the standard he’s set.

Dunn’s scoring production hinged largely on whether he could make open three-pointers in this game, which he did. As a result, he logged his highest scoring total of the month and, additionally, recorded his third straight game with at least four assists. Surprisingly, the savvy on-ball defender didn’t record any steals or blocks for the first time since October. Still, he had a solid performance overall and will likely continue to start at shooting guard.

Leonard led the Clippers in scoring on Monday, as he was the only player on the team to reach the 20-point mark. He didn’t provide much fantasy value outside of his scoring, though, which isn’t usually the case. Still, the 20-point outing allowed him to extend his streak of such games to eight. The Clippers need Leonard’s scoring to win games, and he continues to be one of their best options. Expect him to remain an efficient scorer so long as he’s healthy and on the floor.

For the first time since November 14, Okogie hit double figures in a game. Also, his 16 points on Monday were a season-high for the veteran wing. The Rockets don’t rely on Okogie for offensive production, which explains why his nine shot attempts were the second-most in a game for him this season. Starting gives Okogie the opportunity to provide some value, but he still isn’t worth the risk in fantasy leagues. Leave him on the waiver wire.

Thompson dropped his fifth double-double of the season in Monday’s overtime defeat, and the six assists were a nice bonus for fantasy managers. The negative was that he did not record any steals or blocked shots, the second time in four games that Thompson has failed to post any defensive stats. However, he’s still averaging 1.6 “stocks” per game over the last two weeks, which is one reason he has been a third-round player in eight-cat formats during this stretch.

Şengün’s first triple-double of the season wasn’t enough to get the Rockets the win, but fantasy managers won’t care about the game’s outcome. Over the past two weeks, he has provided top-10 value in eight-cat formats. As a result, Şengün’s season-long value aligns with his Yahoo! ADP (19). Houston closes Week 9 with three games, starting with the Pelicans on Thursday, which is excellent for those who have Şengün on their rosters.

While Durant produced solid numbers in multiple categories, the blocks category is where he truly stood out. The five rejections were a season-high and the most in a game for him since February, and two shy of his career-high. Over the past two weeks, Durant has been close to a first-round player in eight-cat formats. As a result, his season-long value is edging closer to that threshold. The Rockets have one of the busier Week 9 schedules, as they’ll play three games over the final four days of the week.

On a night when their starting backcourt of Amen Thompson and Josh Okogie combined to score 15 points, the Rockets received solid contributions from Holiday and Reed Sheppard (12/2/3 with two three-pointers) off the bench. The 19 points were the second-most in a game this season for Holiday, who has reached double figures in six of his last seven appearances. However, his fantasy value remains extremely low. Smith took advantage of Alperen Şengün’s absence due to an illness, recording a complete stat line while shooting better than 50 percent from the field. While he has reached double figures in scoring in 13 straight games, Saturday’s defeat was the third in which Smith scored at least 20 points. Of the 71 points scored by Rockets starters, Durant and Jabari Smith Jr. were responsible for 49 of them. The limited production from the other starters was too much to overcome in Dallas, as Houston desperately missed Alperen Şengün (illness). Leonard has scored at least 20 points in six straight and seven of the eight games he’s played since returning from ankle and foot injuries. He has provided second-round value in eight-cat formats since returning, and he has not missed a game. Harden finished Saturday’s defeat with a robust stat line, and he made some personal history. The Clippers guard moved into tenth on the NBA’s all-time scoring list, passing Carmelo Anthony. Zubac’s production on Friday was minimal compared to what he has shown over the past couple of seasons. The veteran center didn’t find many scoring opportunities on Friday, and was surprisingly unimpactful on the glass in his 35 minutes of game action. As a result, his streak of double-doubles ended at three games, and he failed to secure double-digit rebounds for the first time since November 22 against the Hornets. Harden’s numbers were down on Friday across the board, as he put forth one of his least productive outings of the season. He finished with fewer than 20 points for just the 15th time this season, which didn’t appear would be the case after scoring 13 first-quarter points. He was also unproductive on the glass and didn’t provide his usual level of impact as a passer. All in all, it was an unspectacular performance from the former league MVP, relative to what type of numbers he’s usually putting up. Fantasy managers will hope Harden can bounce back against the Timberwolves on Saturday.

Leonard led the Clippers in scoring on Friday, but did so without scoring efficiently from beyond the arc. He shot 2-of-9 from deep and struggled with his shooting in the fourth quarter as the Grizzlies took control and eventually won the game. From a fantasy basketball standpoint, Leonard was solid — he did well on the glass and tallied more assists than his season’s average while chipping in a couple of stocks. Most importantly, the two-time Finals MVP has played 35 minutes in consecutive games. He appears to be off his minutes restriction, which could potentially lead to greater fantasy production going forward.

Durant put on a very balanced performance on Friday in the first game of the season against his former team. He was accurate inside the arc, as well as beyond it, but also dished out a game-high in assists while being active on the defensive end.
