Holiday and Sharpe will remain out, which will open up opportunities across the roster. Sidy Cissoko and Caleb Love should see extra playing time at guard, while Jerami Grant and Kris Murray should see more run at forward. Deni Avdija should operate as the Blazers’ de facto point guard, and he finished with a 32/11/11 triple-double on Wednesday. Grant should get a boost in offensive usage as one of the team’s go-to scoring options.

Williams was held out of Wednesday’s game against the Bulls, as it was the second game of a back-to-back for Portland. His availability does not have a significant impact on fantasy basketball, but it does impact Yang Hansen’s place in the rotation. Hansen played eight minutes on Wednesday, which matched Williams’ tally in Tuesday’s loss to the Suns.

Sharpe did not play in Wednesday’s loss to the Bulls. However, it was Sidy Cissoko who received the starting nod, with Kris Murray coming off the bench. Murray offers a higher fantasy ceiling if Sharpe remains out, but neither player is a must-add in this scenario.

Holiday has missed Portland’s last two games with a strained right calf. With Shaedon Sharpe also out for Wednesday’s loss to the Bulls, the Trail Blazers turned to Deni Avdiaj to run the show offensively. Avdija will have high fantasy value regardless of Holiday’s availability, but his ceiling is higher when he’s effectively the lone playmaker.

Adams was inserted into the starting lineup for Wednesday’s win over the Cavaliers, bumping Josh Okogie to the bench. Clingan was dominant on the glass against the Bulls, recording a career-high rebound total. Even better for fantasy managers was that the second-year center recorded a complete stat line with solid percentages. So far, Clingan has exceeded his Yahoo! ADP (84) in eight- and nine-cat formats, closing in on the top-50 in the latter. With Robert Williams’ availability still being an issue and rookie Yang Hansen not ready to contribute consistently, Clingan’s value will increase if he’s able to play 30 minutes or more. Wednesday’s game was the second this season in which he logged at least 30 minutes.

After enjoying an excellent first season in Portland, Avdija has been elite to begin his second campaign in Rip City. He finished Wednesday’s crushing defeat with his first triple-double of the season and third of his career, all of which were recorded since Deni was traded to Portland. No Jrue Holiday or Shaedon Sharpe on the court meant more was expected of Avdija, and he was up to the task. He’s rostered in 99 percent of Yahoo! leagues, so he won’t be found on many waiver wires. The question now is whether fantasy managers should sell high or ride the wave.

Back in the starting lineup after sitting out Tuesday’s loss to the Suns, Grant enjoyed his best offensive outing of the season. However, the season-high 33 points were the only highlight. Grant also provided solid value in the rebound and assist categories, a good sign for a player whose production in those categories has been deficient in prior seasons. He’s still providing top-100 value in eight- and nine-cat formats and can benefit from Shaedon Sharpe’s absence if the guard remains sidelined.

Holiday has hit double figures in three straight games, with Wednesday’s total being a season-high. He didn’t provide anything beyond the points, three-pointers and percentages, so there’s no need to consider rostering Holiday. Reed Sheppard (12/2/2/1/1 with two three-pointers) remains the superior option for fantasy managers, especially with Tari Eason out due to injury.

Şengün was outstanding on Wednesday, outplaying Cleveland’s tandem of Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen while recording his ninth double-double of the season. The Rockets center, who was effectively the starting power forward with Steven Adams (6/11/3/0/1) in the lineup, is providing top-25 value in eight- and nine-cat formats. That aligns with Şengün’s Yahoo! ADP, so those who have him rostered are in a good place.

Durant was on the proverbial “struggle bus” Wednesday night, shooting poorly from the field and committing four turnovers. Thus far, while his numbers remain solid, KD’s fantasy value has not met the expectations of most managers. Ranked just outside the top-50 in nine-cat formats, he has been two rounds more valuable in eight-cat. Given Durant’s track record and skill set, there’s no need for fantasy managers to lose any sleep over his most recent performance.

Grant, who did not play in Tuesday’s loss to the Suns, is back and will start due to Shaedon Sharpe (calf) being out. The other change is Cissoko, who replaces Kris Murray. Grant is back after sitting out Tuesday’s loss to the Suns. With Shaedon Sharpe unavailable, Grant could slide into that spot, which would mean Kris Murray gets another start. With Shaedon Sharpe and Deni Avdija being the most heavily used players within the Trail Blazers’ offense, Clingan managers are going to get most of their value from him in the rebound and blocked shot categories. The second-year center was highly productive in those areas on Tuesday, establishing a new season-high in the latter. Due to the Trail Blazers being without multiple guards, Love logged a season-high 31 minutes on Tuesday. And the rookie played relatively well, shooting 50 percent from the field and notching personal highs in points, rebounds and three-pointers. Love’s fantasy potential moving forward depends on the health of Jrue Holiday, who has missed the last two games with a sore calf. Sharpe led the way offensively for the Trail Blazers, who have lost five of their last six games. Injuries at the point guard position have begun to take a toll, with Scoot Henderson and Blake Wesley facing extended absences and Jrue Holiday missing a second straight game on Tuesday. As a result, Sharpe has had the ball in his hands more as a playmaker, but this has not boosted his assist totals very much. Henderson suffered a torn left hamstring during a workout just before the Trail Blazers opened training camp. While he has progressed in his recovery, the lack of clearance to run, jump or engage in other explosive movements indicates his return to action is not imminent. “I can walk around to spots, but no jumping, no exploding,” Henderson told The Athletic on Tuesday. “I shoot free throws, some ballhandling, but without moving much.” With Jrue Holiday and Blake Wesley also injured, Portland has relied on Shaedon Sharpe, Deni Avdija and Caleb Love to take on playmaking responsibilities. Holiday’s injury is not expected to be long-term, so he’ll assume the starting point guard duties once again when he’s cleared to play. As for Henderson, fantasy managers with an open IL+ slot can continue to stash him. However, those working with injury-riddled rosters may need to move on and seek alternatives.

Clingan has not been a consistent double-figure scorer, so the double-doubles have been few and far between. He recorded his second of the season on Sunday, finishing a steal shy of a complete stat line. With Jrue Holiday out due to injury, Grant made his first start of the season on Sunday. Thompson notched his second double-double of the season on Sunday, but he had a difficult night shooting-wise. Over his last two games, the third-year wing has shot 10-of-30 from the field. The good news for Houston is that Reed Sheppard picked up the slack, coming off the bench to score 16 points with seven rebounds, two assists, one steal and two three-pointers. Şengün has been a force all season, but this was arguably his best performance of the year. He fell one assist of a triple-double, but it was the defensive production that really made this an elite performance for him. Such well-rounded stat lines are the new normal for Sengun in his fifth NBA season, having firmly placed himself on the short list of upper-echelon centers.
