LaVine’s shot attempts have fluctuated wildly recently. After attempting five shots in a December 3 loss to the Rockets, he got up 24 in Saturday’s win over the Heat. In Indianapolis, LaVine attempted 13 shots and finished with a final line that won’t make much of a dent in fantasy leagues. Over the past two weeks, he has provided ninth-round value in eight-cat formats, ranking just outside the top-100. The Kings play twice more in Week 8, starting with the Nuggets on Thursday.

DeRozan has scored at least 20 points in three of his last ten games, a surprising return from a player long known for his ability to put points on the board. The Kings’ lineup may be a factor, as it includes three ball-dominant players: DeRozan, Russell Westbrook, and Zach LaVine. While Domantas Sabonis (knee) being out may help alleviate some of the usage concerns, Westbrook is the only one who has benefited recently.

Add another triple-double to Westbrook’s tally, and he was excellent despite the Kings coming up short on the scoreboard. The veteran point guard recorded a complete stat line with just three turnovers; the lone negative was the foul shooting. Over the past two weeks, Westbrook has provided third-round per-game value in eight-cat formats. The combination of his play and Dennis Schröder’s hip injury has put Westbrook in a position to be rostered in 12-team leagues.

Achiuwa has not started a game since November 20, but the absence of Domantas Sabonis (knee) has freed up additional minutes for him, among others. The former first-round pick has reached double figures in five of his last seven appearances, but the overall production has not been good enough to merit being rostered in most leagues. Maxime Raynaud (13/9/3 in 23 minutes) made his second straight start on Monday and remains the superior streaming target while the Kings await Sabonis’ return.

Monday’s game will be the sixth that Schröder has missed with a strained right hip flexor. Russell Westbrook had already claimed the starting point guard job before Sacramento lost Schröder, so his continued absence affects the bench more. Nique Clifford has seen his playing time increase recently, while Keon Ellis’ role has been inconsistent. Neither is a must-stream in this spot.

Murray is dealing with soreness in his right trapezius muscle, so he’s on the Kings’ initial injury report for Monday. Schröder has missed Sacramento’s last five games, most recently playing on November 24. With Russell Westbrook seemingly locked into the starting point guard role, as he replaced Schröder before the injury, rookie Nique Clifford stands to be the player most likely to lose out on minutes if the veteran guard plays.

On a night when their starting backcourt of Amen Thompson and Josh Okogie combined to score 15 points, the Rockets received solid contributions from Holiday and Reed Sheppard (12/2/3 with two three-pointers) off the bench. The 19 points were the second-most in a game this season for Holiday, who has reached double figures in six of his last seven appearances. However, his fantasy value remains extremely low. The recent run does not change the fact that managers should leave Holiday on the waiver wire.

Smith took advantage of Alperen Şengün’s absence due to an illness, recording a complete stat line while shooting better than 50 percent from the field. While he has reached double figures in scoring in 13 straight games, Saturday’s defeat was the third in which Smith scored at least 20 points. While he is providing top-100 value, Smith has a limited ceiling due to the presence of Şengün and Kevin Durant.

Of the 71 points scored by Rockets starters, Durant and Jabari Smith Jr. were responsible for 49 of them. The limited production from the other starters was too much to overcome in Dallas, as Houston desperately missed Alperen Şengün (illness). Over the past two weeks, Durant has provided top-15 value in eight- and nine-cat formats. Houston plays once during Week 8, and they’ll have a total of five games in leagues that will combine Weeks 8 and 9 to account for the NBA Cup.

Yes, Westbrook committed six turnovers. However, he also recorded his eighth double-double, continuing to offer greater value than many anticipated when the Kings signed him at the end of the preseason. Westbrook will continue to possess increased fantasy value while Dennis Schröder (hip) is out, and there’s also more room in the rotation for rookie Nique Clifford. He played 18 minutes off the bench, finishing with 15 points, six rebounds, one steal and one three-pointer. The Kings are one of the few teams that play three games in Week 8, boosting the values of Westbrook and Clifford in leagues that don’t combine Weeks 8 and 9.

Coming off the best game of his rookie season, Raynaud was rewarded with his first career start on Saturday. To say the 7-foot-1 center held his own would be far, as he recorded a double-double and blocked two shots. Drew Eubanks, who Raynaud replaced in the lineup, logged 11 minutes and finished with four points and two rebounds. As long as the Kings are without Domantas Sabonis, Raynaud will have value in deeper leagues, especially if he continues to start.

Since scoring 26 points in a November blowout loss to the Grizzlies, LaVine had just two games of at least 19 points. There were no such struggles in Miami, as the veteran guard recorded his first 40-point game of the season. Sacramento’s slow start led to trade rumors, with the veterans (including LaVine) as the focus. December 15 is an important date, as most of the league will be eligible to be traded at that point. What the Kings’ decision-makers decide to do will significantly impact LaVine’s fantasy value moving forward.

Smith Jr. tallied another double-digit scoring performance, marking his 18th in 19 games this season — he didn’t get many looks at the rim on Friday but made the most of his opportunities. He made use of the charity stripe but also dominated inside the arc, making 11 two-point shots before reaching the 30-point mark for the first time all season. Durant put on a very balanced performance on Friday in the first game of the season against his former team. He was accurate inside the arc, as well as beyond it, but also dished out a game-high in assists while being active on the defensive end. Thompson finished with at least 20 points for the third time in the last five games, with his production inside the arc being key on Monday. Despite the loss, his scoring was significantly higher than the five points he posted the night prior against the Jazz. Sengün was fantastic in Monday’s loss, reaching the 30-point mark for the third time this season while providing much more production as a rebounder and facilitator than the previous night against the Jazz. And as if his near-triple-double wasn’t enough, the fifth-year center had his most dominant defensive performance of the season from a fantasy basketball standpoint, tallying seven stocks for the game. If his defensive production can remain consistent, his floor and ceiling will rise even further in fantasy leagues.

Durant was one of two Rockets to pass the 30-point mark on Monday in Salt Lake City. He tallied as many free throws as he did made field goals in this game, with high volume allowing his inefficient shooting to make enough scoring production to lead Houston in points. Monk finished Sunday’s defeat one point shy of his season high, shooting just under 50 percent from the field. Even better for fantasy managers was the veteran guard recording a complete stat line, something he’s done on four other occasions this season. Rostered in 22 percent of Yahoo! leagues, Monk sits just outside the top-150 in nine-cat formats. After poor showings in games against the Timberwolves and Suns, LaVine has been more productive in the Kings’ last two games. In Sunday’s defeat, the veteran wing’s stat line included a season-high three steals. In fact, this was LaVine’s third game of the season with multiple steals. In other words, fantasy managers should know not to look to him for consistent defensive production. The hope is that he can knock down shots at a decent clip. The Kings play only two games in Week 7, starting with the Rockets on Wednesday.

DeRozan led the way offensively for the Kings, who had three players score at least 19 points on Sunday. Their issue was one DeRozan couldn’t help with: the inability to slow down Memphis center Zach Edey. Over the past two weeks, DeMar has provided fifth-round value in nine-cat formats, sitting just outside the top-50. Unfortunately, Sacramento has a bad Week 7 schedule, as they only play twice. Adams only logged 17 minutes in this game, but that was enough time for him to record his third double-double of the season. He was able to dominate down low, but also at the free throw line, which is typically a weakness for him. Adams is shooting a career-best 73.3 percent from the line after shooting 46.2 percent last year and 36.4 percent the year before. Sheppard moved into the starting lineup with Kevin Durant (personal) unavailable for two games, but with KD back, Sheppard remained a starter, with Josh Okogie returning to the bench. Sheppard played 31 minutes in the blowout win, and while he didn’t do much scoring, he was able to make a big impact on this game. Even when he is written off, Westbrook continues to fill up the box score. In this game, he was able to record the 206th triple-double of his career, which extends his lead over everyone else that’s ever played in the NBA.
