After playing 11 minutes in Monday’s loss to the Rockets, Potter was held out of Tuesday’s loss to the Jazz. Richards was rerouted from Milwaukee after initially being traded from Phoenix. The initial trade was expanded to include Dieng, with the first deal sending Richards and Nigel Hayes-Davis to the Bucks for Cole Anthony and Amir Coffey. Chicago traded Nikola Vucevic already, so Richards will be in the center rotation alongside Jalen Smith and Zach Collins. Smith should start, but he may not be the coveted option for the rest of the season that managers were hoping he would be if Richards takes away some of his minutes.

The 2023 first-round pick will be an add-on as part of the trade that was centered around Ivica Zubac being sent to Indiana. Brown was only playing 8.7 minutes per game for the Clippers this year, but with the Pacers now needing to finish with a top-four pick to avoid sending it to the Clippers, Brown should get an opportunity to play big minutes as the team tanks.

Even though the Pacers are not in contention this season, Zubac is signed through the 2027-28 season with his three-year, $58.6 million deal. The 28-year-old is averaging 14.4 points, 11.0 rebounds, and 2.2 assists in 43 games this season. He will slide into the starting center role for a team in desperate need of a big man, and then will form a strong core with Tyrese Haliburton and Pascal Siakam next season. This trade is also good news for the Thunder, who own the rights to the Clippers’ first-round pick. With the Clippers trading away Zubac and James Harden, that pick figures to be pretty high in the upcoming draft. The Pacers are also sending their 2016 first-round pick to the Clippers, but that pick is top 1-4 and 10-30 protected. Given that the Pacers currently have the third-worst record in the NBA, it would be a huge risk for them to play their best lineup going forward and risk picking in that 5-9 range. As a result, we may see a lot of rest days for their better players, including Zubac, in the days ahead.

The 2023 second-round pick has been viewed as a high-upside piece for a few seasons, but he hasn’t been able to turn that into consistent production. That was on a contender. In Chicago, he’ll be the tallest player on the roster, though there is still time for the Bulls to change that with more moves. Miller should be get a chance to at least play rotation minutes this season, which could lead to some production during silly season, but that doesn’t justify him as a player worthy of a roster spot in standard leagues at this point.

Minnesota gave up an unprotected first-round pick in 2031 and a pick swap in 2030 to acquire Dillingham on draft night, but they’ll cut their losses early. Dillingham was able to show some flashes as a rookie, but he hasn’t been able to do much in year two. Buzelis became the first Bulls player in franchise history to have five three-pointers and five blocks in a game. In an exaggerated parody of Michael Jordan’s shot over Bryon Russell in the 1998 NBA Finals, clearly shoved a defender to the floor with no foul called before making a three-pointers toward the end of the third quarter. And the second-round pick out of Marquette had a solid night overall, dishing out eight assists and committing just one turnover.
