Siakam and Sheppard sat out Sunday’s win over the Nuggets, with the former’s absence being more impactful. Obi Toppin replaced Spicy P in the starting lineup and was excellent, hitting four three-pointers and scoring 22 points. He’ll remain in that role if Siakam cannot play on Tuesday. As for Sheppard, his absence led to Johnny Furphy playing a few rotation minutes, but that was not enough to impact fantasy basketball.

Murray sat out Sunday, and he’s in danger of missing a second straight contest due to a back injury. If he’s unavailable, Trey Lyles could remain with the first unit. Ellis’ appearance on the injury report could be precautionary for the second leg of Sacramento’s back-to-back set, and if he’s unavailable, Malik Monk could slot back into the starting five. Devin Carter would also be a candidate for additional minutes.

With Tyrese Haliburton (9/3/14/1/1 with one three-pointer) struggling to find his groove as a scorer, Nembhard was one of the Pacers who picked up the slack. Rostered in 30 percent of Yahoo! leagues, the third-year guard has been a ninth-round player over the past two weeks. Nembhard’s fantasy ceiling remains low as Haliburton’s sidekick in the backcourt, but his floor has been relatively safe this season.

Turner did not provide much value as a rebounder, but category league managers will continue to value his points, blocks and three-pointers. The Pacers center has made 10 three-pointers and blocked 11 shots in his last three games, which has made him a third-round player in nine-cat formats over the past two weeks. For fantasy managers whose leagues will be active, Indiana plays four games during Week 23, starting with the Wizards on Tuesday.

Due to the Pacers not having Pascal Siakam, Toppin was tabbed to make his second start of the season on Sunday. And he was productive overall, shooting 50 percent from the field. However, Toppin did most of his damage before halftime, scoring 19 points on 8-of-12 shooting. He was 1-of-6 from the field in the second half, but other Pacers stepped up to help Indiana keep alive its hopes of catching New York for the three-seed in the East. The Pacers play four games during Week 23, and Toppin will have value in deeper leagues that remain active, especially if Siakam remains out.

DeRozan has scored 21 points or more in six straight games, providing consistent offensive value to fantasy managers. However, the defensive production has limited his value, with Deebo being a sixth-round player in nine-cat formats over the past two weeks. For DeRozan managers whose leagues run through Week 23, the Kings play four games, starting with Monday’s road trip finale in Detroit. He’ll be especially valuable in points leagues and for managers who don’t need defensive production.

LaVine’s entire stat line did not provide much value to category league managers, but his points, three-pointers and field goal percentage were outstanding. The 37 points are the most he’s scored in a game since February 24, and the opponent on that night (Charlotte) was far less formidable than the Cavaliers. LaVine will look to build on Sunday’s performance when the Kings end their road trip in Detroit on Monday.

Sacramento’s “big three” of Sabonis, Zach LaVine and DeMar DeRozan combined to score 92 points on Sunday. And with Phoenix’s loss to the Knicks, the Kings moved closer to locking down a play-in spot. The lone negative for Sabonis managers was the turnover category, as he was responsible for six. He’s averaged three turnovers per game over the past two weeks, so Sabonis is ranked outside the top 60 in nine-cat formats. Siakam was questionable with an elbow injury, but ended up having one of his better games of late Friday against the Jazz. The 31-year-old power forward impacted the game in a number of ways. He had 22 points on 16 shots including two made three-pointers. Siakam also chipped in with five rebounds and five assists. After enduring a two-game slump in which he scored 14 points on 6-of-23 shooting, Monk got untracked Friday night. Facing one of the worst defenses in the NBA, he shot over 50 percent from the field, and the 17 points were the most in a game for Malik since March 20, before he missed three games due to an illness. Turner went off for 26 points Friday against the Jazz. It’s the most points the 29-year-old center has had in a game since January 16, when he dropped 28 points on the Pistons. Turner was 9-of-17 from the field including three made three-pointers and got to the foul line eight times and made five free throws. LaVine’s fantasy value has tailed off considerably over the past two weeks, as he’s ranked outside the top 200 in nine-cat formats. The combination of limited defensive production and 3.1 turnovers per game have done him no favors during this stretch. While LaVine did not record any steals or blocks on Friday, the stat line was one of his best. In addition to the double-double, he racked up seven assists without committing a turnover. Fantasy managers will hope for a similar effort on Sunday when the Kings visit Cleveland.

Sabonis recorded his 57th double-double of the season and fifth in as many games on Friday. During this five-game run, the Kings center has provided third-round value in eight-cat formats. While Sabonis remains a top-25 player in eight- and nine-cat formats for the season, he’s ranked outside the top-75 in both since the trade deadline. LaVine had a rough second half on Wednesday, shooting 1-of-7 from the field, and the Kings lost a game they could ill afford to lose in their quest to earn a play-in spot. While shooting 44.6 percent from the field over the past two weeks isn’t terrible, LaVine doesn’t have as much margin for error, fantasy-wise, due to his limited defensive production. During this stretch, he’s ranked outside the top 250 in nine-cat formats and the top 150 in eight-cat. Not only do the Kings need him to be better in their final two games of Week 22, but the same can be said for fantasy managers who have LaVine rostered.

As is usually the case, Sabonis again provided reliable value in points, rebounds and assists on Wednesday. Unfortunately, a combination of limited defensive production and poor foul shooting have made him a sixth-round player in eight-cat formats over the past two weeks. Sabonis has been a top-20 player in eight-cat formats for the season, which aligns with his Yahoo! ADP of 15. If anything, the additions of DeMar DeRozan and Zach LaVine may negatively impact how Sabonis is viewed in drafts next fall if the Kings keep this core together.

Usually fourth or fifth in the Kings’ offensive pecking order on most nights, Murray’s had to provide value in other areas. He finished Wednesday’s defeat with two steals and one blocked shot and has averaged 0.8 steals and 1.6 blocks over the past two weeks. That production is one of the reasons why he has offered top-25 value in nine-cat formats during this stretch. Shooting 50.5 percent from the field doesn’t hurt, but Murray’s willingness to consistently take on challenging defensive assignments has boosted his fantasy value after a slow start to the season.

After scoring 31 points in Monday’s loss to the Pacers, DeRozan put up another 29 on Wednesday. He’s scored at least 20 points in 11 of his last 12 outings, except a March 25 loss to Oklahoma City. Over the past month, DeRozan has provided eighth-round value in nine-cat formats. That’s three rounds lower than his season-long value, with slight dips in his defensive stats being a factor.
