George entered Thursday’s game in a slump, having shot 8-of-28 from the field over the previous three games. He got back on track against the Celtics, but it wasn’t enough to help Washington avoid a 45-point defeat. The recent slump dropped his fantasy value just outside the top-100, but the second-year wing should be fine. He remains someone who has to be rostered in all 12-team leagues, and George will be more valuable later in the season.

Due to the nature of Thursday’s game, with the Wizards losing 146-101, Middleton only played 25 minutes. In a more competitive game, he likely plays more, especially with Bilal Coulibaly and Tre Johnson sidelined due to injury. Rostered in 14 percent of Yahoo! leagues, the veteran forward has been a 12th-round player over the last two weeks. That doesn’t move the needle much in fantasy basketball, especially for a player who isn’t playing both ends of back-to-backs.

McCollum once again led the way offensively for the Wizards, who were on the receiving end of one of the worst beatings in franchise history. And before the NBA season reaches the point where a shutdown is a realistic possibility, the concern for McCollum manager is nights like Thursday. He still played 31 minutes against the Celtics, so all wasn’t lost. But the Wizards being without multiple players capable of trimming the veteran’s workload in a blowout likely ensured that McCollum surpassed 30 minutes.

With the Cavaliers regaining control of Monday’s game early in the fourth quarter, Siakam lost out on a few minutes due to Pacers head coach Rick Carlisle pulling the plug. Given how many games the Pacers have lost, this has to be a frustrating season for Siakam and, by extension, those who have him on their fantasy rosters. Having entered the season with a third-round Yahoo! ADP, he’s ranked outside the top-75 in eight- and nine-cat formats. Jackson was bumped to the bench for Friday’s game, and he wasn’t effective in that role. However, he was able to make a large impact in this one. Both Pacers bigs had success, as Jay Huff, who started at center, contributed 14 points, four blocks and four triples. Through their first nine games, he shot at least 50 percent from the floor just once; over their last nine games, he has shot below 50 percent just twice.
