Hyland didn’t move into the starting lineup with Anthony Edwards (knee) set to miss at least one week, but he did see extra minutes off the bench and took full advantage of the opportunity. This was his fourth 20-point game of the season, and he fell just short of his season-high 23-point performance in January. Gobert didn’t do much scoring, but he matched his season high for rebounds and had a solid game as a shot blocker. This came two days after he was held to two points and seven rebounds against the Thunder, so this was a strong response. Mathurin came off the bench on Monday and concluded as one of the Clippers’ highest scorers on the evening. He was somewhat inefficient from the floor, got to the line often, and struggled from beyond the arc, things that have been consistent during his brief tenure as a Clipper. Garland was likely tasked with doing even more on offense against the Spurs with Kawhi Leonard sidelined (ankle), and he mostly delivered.
