Dončić is away from the Lakers for personal reasons, and Thursday’s game is the first of three that they’ll play on their upcoming road trip. What his absence means for games against Boston and Philadelphia is unknown, but it leaves a massive hole in the Lakers’ lineup. LeBron James and Austin Reaves will see their usage rates increase, which is especially important for the former, given his production in Monday’s loss to the Suns. As for the spot in the starting lineup, Gabe Vincent is the most likely replacement.

Haynes’ initial report said the Clippers were “severing ties” with Paul, and the team released a statement confirming that. Paul also posted on Instagram at 2:40 a.m. in Atlanta, where the Clippers are playing on Wednesday, that he is being sent home. Paul announced previously that this would be his final season, so this could give him an opportunity to join a contending team to close out his career. That was likely the idea with the Clippers, along with Paul enjoying some of the best seasons of his career with them, but the team has started off 5-16. CP3 has played a small reserve role this year, so his departure may open up a few minutes for Kris Dunn and Cam Christie, but it won’t significantly alter the rotation.

Reaves finished with fewer than 20 points on Monday for just the second time this season. He was efficient both inside and outside the arc, but low volume kept his production down. He also committed five turnovers in his 33 minutes of game action, which was more than the handful of assists he produced. The Suns held several key Lakers in check and ended Los Angeles’ seven-game winning streak. Reaves will have a chance to bounce back on Thursday against the Raptors.

James was one of several key Lakers who couldn’t get going on the offensive end on Monday. He took only 10 shots, had his most inefficient shooting performance thus far, and recorded a season-low in points as a result. The versatile forward had little impact in another area of the game — he failed to grab a rebound, only produced a few assists, and didn’t register any stocks for the game. Overall, it was a forgettable performance from both the Lakers and James. He’ll look to turn the page and bounce back against the Raptors on Thursday.

Dončić was the only Laker to score north of 20 points on Monday, as he more than doubled the next highest-scoring teammate, Austin Reaves, who finished with 16 points. He also led the Lakers in rebounding and finished the game one turnover shy of double digits. The extreme positives surely outweigh the negatives from a fantasy standpoint, as the superstar guard continues to put up the best statistical season of his young career. He’ll have a chance to log his eighth 30-point game in a row against the Raptors on Thursday.

Finishing as a +8 in 30 minutes in a game your team loses by 17 is impressive. Leonard was able to have an excellent night, though 19 of his points came in the fourth quarter, when the game was practically already decided. Zubac was once again a bright spot in a loss for the Clippers. They’ve lost five straight, and he has grabbed double-digit rebounds in each game. Zubac’s production has only dropped slightly from last season, and he’ll continue to consistently produce, even if things aren’t going well in LA. Next up is Atlanta on Wednesday, and they’re one of the worst rebounding teams in the league.

Clippers coach Tyronn Lue subbed him out a little over a minute into the third quarter, and he didn’t check back in. Ayton, who missed the Lakers’ November 25 win over the Clippers with a right knee injury, may have aggravated the injury during the fourth quarter of Sunday’s victory. He banged knees with Derik Queen, and while Ayton returned to the game after the first timeout called to get him off the floor, he didn’t last long before needing to ask for a sub. With the Suns hosting the Suns on Monday, this could be a spot where Jaxson Hayes (8/6/2/0/2 in 21 minutes) receives the starting nod, with Ayton getting the night off. However, Ayton did not sound concerned about the injury while in the locker room after the win, which may bode well for his availability for Monday night.

Reaves and Luka Dončić combined to score 67 points on Sunday, and they also shot 23-of-26 from the foul line. Reaves has scored 30 points or more in three straight outings, his most consistent run of the season to date. The lone concern in the short term is the Lakers’ schedule, as they play the second game of a back-to-back on Monday and will have another one later in Week 7. The Pelicans could not find an answer for Dončić or Austin Reaves, and that has been the case for many teams this season. The tandem combined to score 67 points, more than shouldering the load as the Lakers played without LeBron James. Dončić has scored at least 33 points in six consecutive games, one reason why he has been the top-ranked player in nine-cat formats over the past two weeks. Given his injury history since joining the Clippers, Leonard’s playing both games of a back-to-back is encouraging. After logging 29 minutes in Friday’s loss to the Grizzlies, he matched that number on Saturday and recorded another 30-point game. After failing to hit double figures in scoring for the first time since November 4 in Friday’s loss to the Grizzlies, Zubac began a new streak on Saturday. The double-double was his 12th of the season, and the playing time remains high. Zubac has played at least 32 minutes in four straight and nine of his last ten games. The concern after Saturday’s game was the collision with Dallas’ Dwight Powell, which caused Zubac to hit the back of his head on the court. He stayed in the game, but with the Clippers visiting Miami on Monday, we’ll have to see whether the 7-footer’s name appears on the injury report.

Harden recorded his second double-double in as many nights on Saturday, but the efficiency was missing. In addition to the poor shooting from the field, The Beard was responsible for seven of the Clippers’ 18 turnovers. Harden has only been a top-75 player over the last week, and the average of five turnovers per game has a lot to do with that. That said, fantasy managers know what they’re getting into when they roster Harden. The Clippers play four games in Week 7.

After scoring 25 points in Tuesday’s win over the Clippers, LeBron took a back seat to Austin Reaves and Luka Dončić on Friday, as they combined to score 73 points. However, he still provided solid value in rebounds, assists and three-pointers as the Lakers finished NBA Cup group play undefeated. The explicit goal for LeBron and the Lakers is to ensure he’s healthy for the stretch run, and they can afford to take that approach with Dončić, Reaves and Deandre Ayton on the roster. While that may lower James’ fantasy ceiling, his floor will be fine.

After playing 26 minutes in his first game back from foot and ankle injuries that sidelined him for nearly three weeks, Leonard’s playing time received a slight bump on Tuesday. Offensively, Tuesday’s performance was Collins’s best since moving into the starting lineup on November 10. His assist against the Lakers was the first for Collins since moving into the starting lineup, a stunning lack of production, even if he isn’t a point guard.
