Morant told reporters after Tuesday’s loss to the Warriors that he expects to play Friday. Nevertheless, the 25-year-old point guard missed practice Thursday and is officially listed as questionable with a right ankle sprain. While it’s hard to envision Morant sitting out a game of importance like Friday’s, his ankle is clearly bothering him. If Morant is out, Santi Aldama and Luke Kennard will be in line for extra minutes with Kennard potentially moving into the starting lineup.

Morant finished out Tuesday’s game against the Warriors after injuring his ankle during overtime and said after the game that he will play on Friday. It’s difficult to imagine him not suiting up for a win-or-go-home game, but the ankle is clearly bothering him quite a bit, which could impact his performance on the court. If something changes, Santi Aldama and Luke Kennard will take on extra minutes, with Kennard potentially replacing Morant in the starting unit.

Morant rolled his right ankle with a little over four minutes remaining in the third quarter of Tuesday’s 7/8 play-in tournament game. He did return to action but was labored in his movements, ultimately logging 35 minutes. Following the defeat, Morant left no doubt about what he expects regarding his availability for Friday. “I’m playing. That’s basically the answer I’m giving,” Morant said. “It ain’t nothing different.” Memphis will host the winner of Wednesday’s game between Dallas and Sacramento on Friday. This game will determine the eighth seed in the West, with the winner advancing to face Oklahoma City.

While he struggled with his shot on Tuesday, the 7-foot-4 Edey was a force on the boards. Having reached double digits in rebounds in five of his last six appearances of the regular season, the rookie center grabbed 17 more on Tuesday. Seven rebounds were offensive, giving the Grizzlies extra possessions that helped erase a 20-point deficit. Edey was unable to do enough to help Memphis get the win and earn a playoff spot. Still, they’ll have another opportunity to do so on Friday against the winner of Wednesday’s game between Dallas and Sacramento.

Interestingly, the one area in which Jackson struggled against the Warriors during the regular season was a position of strength on Tuesday. After shooting 3-of-18 from deep in four meetings, he was 4-of-9 on Tuesday. The issue was Jackson shooting 2-of-6 from two, a far cry from the 54.1 percent clip he shot during the regular season. Jackson will look to rebound on Friday when the Grizzlies host Dallas or Sacramento. The winner of Friday’s game will be the eighth seed in the West.

During the regular season, the Grizzlies went with Vince Williams Jr. as the fifth starter after losing Jaylen Wells to a fractured wrist. However, Pippen was the choice on Tuesday, with his inclusion shifting Ja Morant off the ball. Pippen was solid but not spectacular; we’ll see if the Grizzlies stick with this lineup when they host Dallas or Sacramento on Friday. Williams only played three minutes, going scoreless with one rebound and one assist.

While Morant committed five turnovers on Tuesday, the sprained right ankle he suffered during the third quarter was more concerning. The good news for the Grizzlies was that he returned after spending some time on the bench, ultimately logging 35 minutes. Following the game, TNT reported the Grizzlies would not X-ray Morant’s ankle. Next, we will see how Morant’s ankle responds after the team returns to Memphis. He should be considered questionable for Friday’s game against Dallas or Sacramento, with the winner receiving the eighth seed in the West.

After scoring at least 24 points in three of his last four regular-season appearances, Bane had another good night on Tuesday. It wasn’t enough to get Memphis into the playoffs, but they’ll have another opportunity to earn their way in on Friday against the Dallas/Sacramento winner. With Ja Morant spraining his right ankle during the third quarter, Bane may be in a position where he must do even more as a scorer than he did on Tuesday.

Huff did not start Sunday’s game, but that did not prevent him from putting on a show on both ends of the floor. He recorded career highs in points and blocks, finishing with a robust stat line sure to benefit any fantasy manager who rolled the dice on him. Due to Memphis’s overall depth, Huff has not been a consistent factor in fantasy basketball. However, he’s good enough to offer solid streaming value when the Grizzlies are shorthanded, as they were on Sunday.

Spencer was one of three Grizzlies to finish Sunday’s blowout with new career-high point totals, with Lamar Stevens and Jay Huff being the others. The second-round pick out of UConn did not have the best field-goal percentage, but the assists, steals and three-pointers will help compensate for that. Spencer is unlikely to factor into the Grizzlies’ post-season rotation. Memphis begins on Tuesday against the Warriors in the Play-In Tournament.

With Bagley and Lamar Stevens (31 points) putting up at least 25 points each, a franchise-record 12 players have accomplished that feat this season. Bagley started for Zach Edey and had a big afternoon as a scorer and rebounder. He’s unlikely to provide much value off the bench in the postseason, but Sunday’s performance may improve Bagley’s prospects for the 2025-26 campaign.

Memphis entered Sunday knowing it would be in the play-in tournament. So, the team rested most of its rotation players, freeing up opportunities for guys like Stevens. He took advantage of his chance, recording his first 30-point game. Stevens’s inability to stick in the NBA makes him a non-factor in fantasy basketball, but days like Sunday will keep him on teams’ radars. The Grizzlies will visit Golden State on Tuesday, with the winner receiving the seventh seed and the loser having to play the Sacramento/Dallas winner for the eighth seed.

Gobert wasn’t able to provide a true encore to his 35-point performance on Friday, but he was able to turn in another double-double. The final few weeks entering the postseason have been excellent for Gobert; this was his fifth game with at least 15 rebounds in his last 10 appearances. This may not have been Gobert’s most productive regular season, but he’s getting hot at the right time. Minnesota will have a week off before they travel for Game 1 of their first-round matchup.

Edwards was originally supposed to be serving a one-game suspension on Sunday after picking up his 18th technical foul of the season on Friday. However, the tech was rescinded by the league, which allowed him to be available for the regular season finale to help the Timberwolves clinch a spot in the playoffs. This game went much better than Friday’s for Edwards; he was held to just nine points, which was only his second time this season scoring less than 10 points in a game, with the first coming in a big win over the Lakers in December. In this one, he had his second 40-point game of the month and will enter the postseason on a high note. Edwards also needed exactly seven three-pointers in this game to lead the league in total threes made this season; he hit just enough to beat out Malik Beasley.

The Grizzlies have rested their entire starting five and a few key reserves for Sunday’s game, as they’re locked into Tuesday’s 7 vs. 8 matchup in the play-in tournament. Of the five starters, Williams and Jackson offer the highest ceilings for active fantasy leagues, but Stevens, Bagley and Spencer are worth a look in deeper formats.

Memphis is sitting its top rotation players for Sunday’s game, as they will be the seventh or eighth seed in the West, depending on the results. As expected, both star guards will miss the regular season finale. Memphis’s loss to the Nuggets on Friday locked them into the play-in tournament; Sunday’s results will determine if they’re the seventh or eighth seed. With Friday’s loss to the Nuggets locking Memphis into the play-in tournament, most of the team’s key rotation players are doubtful for Sunday’s regular-season finale. Morant has struggled with injuries for most of this season, so his chances of playing against the Mavericks may be slimmer than Bane’s. With Scotty Pippen Jr. also doubtful, Cam Spencer and Yuka Kawamura could play rotation minutes on Sunday.

Edwards was whistled for a technical foul against the Nets on Friday, which was his 18th of the season. If it wasn’t rescinded, he would’ve been suspended for a must-win game against Utah on Sunday. Now, he’ll be available to play. Minnesota can still finish anywhere from fourth to eighth in the West, so they need to beat the Jazz and have some other games go their way. Edwards’ availability will help their chances of winning.

Morant’s 21 points represented his lowest single-game output since February 23, when he matched that total against the Cavaliers. The 25-year-old point guard also saw a streak of shooting at least 40 percent from the field in five-straight games end. Morant just didn’t have it going on offense the way he typically has over the last two weeks. The Grizzlies close out the season with the Mavericks on Sunday, though their fate has been sealed with the team heading to the play-in tournament.

Edey has now had at least 16 rebounds in four of his last six games and at least 13 rebounds in five of his last six games. The 22-year-old center is certainly a unique player with his propensity for rebounds. He’s also a force on the defensive end, which makes his low scoring games easier to digest. While he’s still young, this may be his fantasy ceiling, which is still more than valuable enough to make him a target going into drafts next season.

After dropping a 30-point double-double in Thursday’s win over the Grizzlies, Randle had another productive night against the Nets. He only missed three of his 11 shot attempts and provided solid value in multiple categories. Minnesota needs a win over the Jazz on Sunday and other positive results to avoid the play-in tournament, so Randle should take on his usual workload in the regular season finale.

With Anthony Edwards struggling offensively, the Timberwolves needed others to step up on Friday. Gobert answered the call, recording a season-high point total and his 35th double-double. He’s scored at least 19 points in five of his last seven outings, providing third-round value in nine-cat formats over the past two weeks. Minnesota needs to win Sunday’s game against the Jazz, and they’re unlikely to have Edwards due to technical foul accumulation. That matchup should be excellent for Gobert due to Utah’s lack of interior depth.

Edwards was whistled for his 18th technical foul of the season during the second quarter of Friday’s game. While the call appeared soft, Ant-Man is subject to a one-game suspension unless the league overturns the call. That knocked Edwards off his stride for the rest of the night as he struggled to get going offensively. The good news for the Timberwolves is that they play the Jazz on Sunday, and that should be an easy matchup with Utah focused on improving its draft lottery odds. But no Edwards, if the technical foul is not overturned, certainly hurts for fantasy managers in active leagues.

After three straight games of 25 points or more, Randle scored 26 in his last two appearances, shooting a combined 9-of-22 from the field. However, despite the downtick in scoring, he has remained an eighth-round player in nine-cat formats over the past week. Anthony Edwards wasn’t the only Timberwolves scorer taking advantage of frequent mismatches as the 76ers didn’t have an answer for Gobert, either. The veteran center recorded another elite stat line, eclipsing 21 points and 18 rebounds for the second straight games. The “Stifle Tower” also recorded five “stocks.” Over the past two weeks, Gobert has provided top-20 per-game value in eight- and nine-cat formats. Gobert managers whose leagues are not finished are likely happy that he’ll have four games to play during Week 23.

Edwards was outstanding on Saturday, as the undermanned 76ers had no answer for him defensively. The Timberwolves star woke up the Philadelphia crowd early in the first quarter with one of the dunks of the season. And his three-pointer late in the fourth quarter as the shot clock expired sent everyone to the exits. The 37 points are the most for Edwards since March 17, when he scored 38 in a loss to the Pacers. For fantasy managers whose seasons run through Week 23, the Timberwolves play four games, starting with the Bucks on Tuesday.

The 30-year-old power forward had just 11 points on 11 attempts including three made three-pointers.
