Sharpe, who missed the Nets’ last two games with a left thumb injury, has been diagnosed with a torn UCL in the thumb. As a result, he’ll undergo surgery and miss the rest of the season. This is a rough turn for fantasy managers who targeted Sharpe for the silly season. While Danny Wolf has been used more on the perimeter, his opportunities may increase in the aftermath of Sharpe’s injury, especially if the Nets look to play starters Nic Claxton and Noah Clowney less. Josh Minott and Chaney Johnson have also played rotation minutes recently and are worth watching.

The Heat have won six straight games, and Mitchell’s improvements as a playmaker is one of the reasons for the team’s surgery. During the streak, he has totaled 29 assists and five turnovers. It’s unlikely to become a trivia question in the future, but Fontecchio was Miami’s second-leading scorer on a night when Bam Adebayo dropped a franchise-record 83 points. Fontecchio shot 3-of-4 from beyond the arc, and the 18 points were the most in a game for him since hitting that number in a February 3 loss to the Hawks. In fact, Fontecchio’s 18 points matched his total from his prior five appearances.

Adebayo’s night was absurd, and it didn’t take long to realize that he was capable of doing something special. He scored 31 points in the first quarter and went into the halftime break with 43, with both accomplishments being franchise records. And despite holding a commanding lead throughout, the Heat didn’t pull Adebayo until late in the fourth, allowing him to put up the second-highest single-game point total in NBA history. He also set league records for free throws made and attempted, and became the first player to attempt at least 22 three-pointers and 30 free throws in the same game.

With Michael Porter Jr. (rest) getting the night off, Wolf made his ninth start of the season. In the previous eight, the 7-foot rookie averaged 10.6 points, 6.0 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 0.9 steals, 1.0 blocks and 1.3 three-pointers per game. In five games this month, Traoré has hit double figures in points in three of them, including Monday’s win over the Grizzlies. What stood out from the rookie guard’s performance was his work from beyond the arc, with Traoré making a season-high four three-pointers on five attempts. He entered Monday having shot 4-of-12 in his previous four games. For the season, Traoré is shooting a little over 32 percent from three, so it’s too early to expect nights like Monday to become the norm. But this was a promising display from a guard who has made some strides as a playmaker as the season has progressed.

Even though Danny Wolf was the Nets player called upon to fill in for Michael Porter Jr. (rest), MPJ’s absence also meant more playing time for Agbaji. He made the most of his 22 minutes, with Ochai’s 19 points a new season-high. Add in the production across the board, and Monday was a good night for the few who rostered Agbaji. Less than a week after it was announced by Nets head coach Jordi Fernandez that Dëmin did not have a return timeline, the rookie has been ruled out for the rest of the season. The eighth overall pick in last summer’s draft, Dëmin has been dealing with plantar fascia issues in his left foot since the summer. While the Nets managed his workload throughout the season, with the rookie not playing back-to-backs, the issue flared up recently. The expectation is that he’ll be good to go for basketball activity early in the offseason. Dëmin appeared in 52 games, starting 45, and averaged 10.3 points, 3.2 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 0.8 steals and 2.4 three-pointers in 25.2 minutes. While perimeter shooting was believed to be a significant question mark during the pre-draft process, Dëmin shot 38.5 percent from beyond the arc. The most consistent of the Nets’ five first-round picks, he’s someone who will be worth picking in drafts next fall.

Two days after he recorded a double-double with five steals, Ware provided an encore in a rematch against the Nets. Only this time, he set a new career high for blocks. This was only the sixth time in NBA history that a player recorded a double-double and finished with at least five steals and seven blocks, with Hakeem Olajuwon (4x) and David Robinson as the only two other players to achieve all of those feats in the same game. That is certainly good company for the 21-year-old. Ware’s inconsistent role has been incredibly frustrating, but he clearly has the makings of a fantasy star.
