Cunningham had failed to reach 20 points in two games in a row, but bounced back with this effort in a loss to the Raptors on Sunday. The 24-year-old point guard had nine assists after recording 28 combined in the last two games. Cunningham has provided third-round per game value over the last two weeks despite the point-scoring blip. The Pistons have three games upcoming in Week 21, starting with a matchup against the Wizards on Tuesday.

Thompson is back after a five-game absence, but an immediate return to the starting lineup is not guaranteed. Back in mid-November, the Pistons’ wing was brought off the bench for a game after missing the previous four with a sprained right ankle. On a night when Tyler Herro (10/6/5 with one block and two three-pointers) struggled in his first game back from an injury, Jaquez did his best to compensate. He scored seven points in the fourth quarter, but the Heat’s late rally fell four points short. While Jaquez’s fantasy value has not been good enough to make him a must-roster player in all leagues, he’s worth holding onto in 12-team category leagues.

Powell returned to action after missing seven games with a groin injury, and he was used in a reserve role. However, he played 31 minutes and put up a respectable stat line. The Heat are off until Tuesday, and that may be when Powell returns to the starting lineup. If so, Kel’el Ware may be the player most likely headed to the bench.

Ware made a second consecutive start on Saturday, as the Heat remained without Andrew Wiggins (toe). The second-year center reached double digits in rebounds for the second straight game, and the double-double was his 22nd of the season. Add in the defensive stats, and this was a good night for managers who have Ware on their fantasy rosters. However, with Norman Powell (groin) returning on Saturday, Ware could head back to the bench as soon as Tuesday’s game against the Hornets.

After recording 13 assists in Thursday’s win over the Nets, Cunningham was even better against the Grizzlies. The Pistons’ star point guard racked up 15 helpers on Friday, the second time in three games that he’s hit that number. Duren was dominant on Friday, an unsurprising development, given the Grizzlies’ lack of interior depth and size. Jakučionis started a second straight game with Tyler Herro (quad) sidelined, and this outing was far more productive than the first. He set a new career high for rebounds and had one of his most effective scoring nights of the season. Jakučionis clearly has plenty of talent and is only 19 years old, making him a valuable asset in dynasty leagues. However, his lack of consistent minutes makes him a difficult player to roster in standard leagues.

Well, it wasn’t exactly an encore. Two days after finishing with 83 points, the second-most in a game in NBA history, Adebayo struggled from the floor and finished with a quarter of his total points from the win over the Wizards. Though he was able to get to the free throw line at a decent rate, he wasn’t able to replicate his 43 attempts from Tuesday’s game. He was still able to extend his streak of 20 point games to eight in a row.

Seven Pistons finished Thursday’s 131-107 victory in double figures, with the reserves getting a little more playing time due to the game getting out of hand. However, Green didn’t need “garbage time” to have one of his most productive games of the season. The 17 points were the most in a game for him since hitting that number in a January 5 blowout of the Knicks, and he scored eight in the third quarter. Friday’s game against the Grizzlies may be another opportunity for Green to put up solid numbers against a shorthanded opponent.

The Pistons were able to pull away from the 76ers in the third quarter, despite Cunningham having a limited impact as a scorer. The All-Star guard attempted just six shots in the night, a season-low, with this being the second time he’s failed to put up at least ten. Given how banged-up the 76ers were entering Thursday’s game, this was an opportunity for some of the Pistons’ unheralded options to put up better numbers than usual. It’s unlikely to become a trivia question in the future, but Fontecchio was Miami’s second-leading scorer on a night when Bam Adebayo dropped a franchise-record 83 points.
