While Durant managed to score 20 points with eight rebounds and five assists, he made the most of a rough game. The 23-year-old point guard had 26 points, seven rebounds and seven assists. Thompson also had an impact on the defensive end with two steals and a block. Herro has had some good games since returning from injury this season, but none better than Friday’s 35-point effort in the win over the Hornets. The 26-year-old point guard was on fire from downtown, going 8-of-10 from behind the three-point line. Herro has shot above 50 percent from the field in five consecutive games. Two days after he recorded a double-double with five steals, Ware provided an encore in a rematch against the Nets. Only this time, he set a new career high for blocks. This was only the sixth time in NBA history that a player recorded a double-double and finished with at least five steals and seven blocks, with Hakeem Olajuwon (4x) and David Robinson as the only two other players to achieve all of those feats in the same game. That is certainly good company for the 21-year-old. Ware’s inconsistent role has been incredibly frustrating, but he clearly has the makings of a fantasy star. Still, even if he isn’t starting, he’s playing too well for fantasy managers to not take advantage.

Herro’s lack of availability this season has been frustrating, but he has been effective when he plays. This matched his second-highest scoring performance of the season, and he has shot at least 50 percent from the floor in four straight games. Jaquez has been productive for most of the season, and this was another solid performance for him. Unfortunately, the same limitations that have plagued him in category leagues all season were on full display. Plenty of points, rebounds and assists with efficiency, but the lack of three-pointers and defensive stats are limiting. The positive spin is that he was more effective from the free throw line, though managers shouldn’t expect that to continue.

Thompson appeared to tweak his right ankle late in the third quarter of Thursday’s game, but he was able to return after spending a little time on the bench. The Rockets’ wing played 44 of a possible 53 minutes against the Warriors, and that’s with Houston hosting Portland on Friday. Add in the ankle injury, and fantasy managers should not be surprised if Thompson shows up on the injury report.

With Jabari Smith Jr. returning from a sprained ankle, Sheppard was pushed back to the bench on Thursday. That didn’t prevent the second-year guard from having one of his most productive nights as a pro. Sheppard recorded his second career 30-point game, finishing one point shy of his career-high. Also, he’s made at least four three-pointers in six straight games. Those who picked up Sheppard when Smith went down with his ankle injury should hold onto the young guard until he cools off. Smith struggled on Thursday, shooting 0-of-8 from the field and finishing with three points, 11 rebounds, two assists, one steal, one blocked shot and five turnovers.

Şengün’s seven assists on Thursday were the most in a game for him since February 25, when he recorded 11 as part of a triple-double against the Kings. The Rockets’ center wasn’t as productive against the Warriors, an unsurprising development, given the defensive abilities of Draymond Green and Al Horford. Ware finished Tuesday’s victory with his 20th double-double, joining Bam Adebayo to make some franchise history. The duo is the first Heat tandem to record at least 20 double-doubles in the same season since LeBron James and Chris Bosh did so in 2010-11. While he didn’t have the best night shooting the basketball, Sheppard did something that has rarely been done in the NBA this century. Like Kevin Durant, who scored 30 points, Şengün took full advantage of a Wizards’ rotation lacking size in Monday’s victory. While his percentages weren’t good, Thompson did finish Saturday’s defeat with a double-double and his second 20-point performance in three games. While it’s highly unlikely to change between now and the end of the season, Thompson needs to further develop his perimeter shot, at least to the point where opposing teams have to respect it.
