With four of Milwaukee’s five starters ruled out for a season finale that had no impact on playoff seeding, Smith played extended minutes for the first time since early February. The rookie played very well, shooting 66.7 percent from the field and recording his first 20-point game. Smith has not been in the rotation this season, and that isn’t going to change during the playoffs. But give the rookie credit for staying ready for his moment, which presented itself on Sunday.

Kuzma was the lone starter on the court for Sunday’s regular-season finale and did not get cheated as he went on a heater for a quarter. He was back in street clothes for the second half. While he’s had his moments since joining the Bucks at the February trade deadline, Kuzma has not been as impactful as some may have hoped. Milwaukee will need a player closer to the one they saw on Sunday if they’re to take down the Pacers in the first round.

Having been passed in the rotation by AJ Green (6/3/4 with two three-pointers in 19 minutes), one can argue that Connaughton desperately needed a day like Sunday, regardless of the strength of the two teams on the court. Not only did he establish a new career-high point total, but this was also his first game with at least 25 points. Connaughton shot over 50 percent from the field and was also productive in the rebound, assist and steals categories. His role in Milwaukee’s first-round series against the Pacers will likely be limited, but Sunday’s effort should boost Connaughton’s confidence.

Ware was the lone regular in the Heat starting lineup for Sunday’s regular-season finale, as they were locked into a play-in tournament matchup with Chicago. With that in mind, it’s unsurprising that the rookie only logged 20 minutes, with Keshad Johnson (17/8/1/2 with two three-pointers in 28 minutes) among the Heat reserves whose opportunities increased. Ware will assume his usual role on Wednesday, while Johnson will be inactive as a two-way contract player.

The Heat rested most of their key contributors for Sunday’s regular-season finale, resulting in Jaquez having the ultimate “green light” offensively. The good news for fantasy managers in active leagues who streamed him is that the offensive freedom did not crater his efficiency. Jaquez shot 68 percent from the field and finished with a career-high point total. Add in the rebounds, assists and three-pointers, and Sunday’s performance should instill some confidence in Jaquez ahead of Wednesday’s matchup with Chicago, even if his role is going to be vastly different with Tyler Herro and Bam Adebayo on the court.

The Bucks are holding out Ryan Rollins, Taurean Prince, Giannis Antetokounmpo and Brook Lopez from Sunday’s regular-season finale, as their playoff seeding has been determined. Green is the safest bet of the four replacements for fantasy managers in active leagues seeking streamers.

With Friday’s win over the Pistons, the Bucks secured the fifth seed in the East. They have nothing to play for in Sunday’s regular-season finale. Having secured the fifth seed in the East with their win over the Pistons on Friday, the Bucks will rest most of their key contributors on Sunday. That includes Antetokounmpo, who has been dealing with a shoulder injury. Kyle Kuzma is the lone starter who will be available, but fantasy managers in active leagues should not expect to see him take on a full workload. The good news for Miami is that Herro is back after missing Saturday’s loss to the Bucks due to an injury.
