Powell did not play in Wednesday’s loss to the Mavericks, resulting in Pelle Larsson making the start. However, he struggled and only played 23 minutes. If Powell remains out, Larsson would only be worth a look in deep leagues if Tyler Herro (toe) is also sidelined. He’s considered questionable for Friday.

Herro is dealing with irritation in his right big toe, hence his appearance on the injury report. If he’s unable to play, Norman Powell (ankle) could fill the void, but he is also questionable for Friday night. Pelle Larsson and Jaime Jaquez Jr. would also be in line to provide added fantasy value if Herro and Powell can’t play.

Giannis went down just three minutes into Wednesday night’s game, and the Bucks were fortunate enough to quickly rule out an Achilles injury. However, it turns out that the calf injury could keep him on the shelf for an extended period of time anyway. With reports coming out that Giannis has also asked the Bucks for a trade, we’d expect the team and player to both be cautious with his return, which will likely keep him out until the beginning or middle of January. In the meantime, Bobby Portis Jr. figures to see an uptick in minutes, and both Kevin Porter Jr. and Kyle Kuzma will be leaned on for higher usage. Giannis’ recovery timeline could be additionally interesting because players who signed offseason extensions, like Knicks wing Mikail Bridges, aren’t eligible to be traded until February. With Giannis sidelined for a few weeks, that could open up new trade possibilities for the Bucks, if they choose to move their star.

When a player goes down with a non-contact lower leg injury, as Giannis did on Wednesday, it doesn’t take much effort to fear the worst. The Bucks announced during Wednesday’s game that the superstar forward had been diagnosed with a strained right calf. During his postgame availability, Rivers said doctors had ruled out an Achilles injury. That’s great news for Milwaukee, but the next step will be to determine the severity of the injury. Jericho Sims started the third quarter and finished with 15 points, 14 rebounds and one assist in 30 minutes. However, while that was an excellent performance for him, Bobby Portis (13/9/5 with two three-pointers in 30 minutes) and Kyle Kuzma (4/4/3/1/2 in 21 minutes) are more reliable alternatives if Giannis is out for an extended period.

While Kevin Porter Jr. was out of the lineup, Rollins showed he was a reliable player as he moved into the starting lineup. That’s why Doc Rivers appears to be sticking with Rollins in the starting lineup even now that Porter is back. Rollins had 22 points in the win over the Pistons on Wednesday and has provided third-round fantasy value so far this season.

Ware’s performance in Dallas was the most recent example that he does not need to start to provide reliable fantasy value. And it was a game that he needed after going scoreless and playing just 16 minutes in Monday’s win over the Clippers. Ware recorded his ninth double-double of the season, and he’s had one in all four games that he’s managed to score at least 20 points. Even with the poor effort against the Clippers, the second-year center has been a top-30 player in eight- and nine-cat formats over the past two weeks.

Since making his season debut on November 24, Herro has scored at least 20 points in all five games. Averaging 23.8 points on 52.4 percent shooting from the field, he has provided top-25 value in nine-cat formats. Herro’s production is a round worse in eight-cat, but fantasy managers aren’t likely to lose any sleep over that. Miami did not have Norman Powell (ankle) on Wednesday, but he has played three of the five games that Herro has been available for. As long as they can stay healthy, both players’ fantasy values should be fine.

Adebayo was one of three Heat players to score at least 20 points on Wednesday, and he’s met or exceeded that number in consecutive games for the first time since late October. Since returning from a toe injury that sidelined him for six games, the Heat center/forward has provided fourth-round value in eight-cat formats. When Miami is whole, which they weren’t on Wednesday (Norman Powell was out), Bam’s ceiling as a scorer may be lower. However, he’s still capable of providing excellent value given his overall skill set.

Porter was coming off a 30-point game in Monday’s loss to the Wizards, but saw an uptick in usage on Wednesday due to Giannis Antetokounmpo leaving with an injury three minutes into the game. Porter’s in line to be an impact fantasy player for the rest of the season if he can just stay healthy.

Antetokounmpo left Wednesday’s game after suffering a non-contact leg injury during the first quarter. The Bucks have since ruled him out with a strained right calf, which will likely mean an extended absence, with the timespan depending on the severity of the injury. Bobby Portis will have added value if Antetokounmpo is out for an extended period, as will Kyle Kuzma.

Adebayo did a little bit of everything in this game. He matched his season high for rebounds and set a new career high for three-pointers in the blowout win over the Clippers. Antetokounmpo was still able to pour in the points, but after scoring 29 points in 19 minutes in Milwaukee’s last game, this one was underwhelming. He has scored at least 25 points in all three games since he returned from a four-game absence with a groin injury, and the only game this year in which he failed to score 20 points was the game that he exited after scoring 14 points in 13 minutes. Rollins led the Bucks with 31 minutes played, but he wasn’t as productive as he has been in recent weeks. The return of Kevin Porter Jr. (knee) may have impacted Rollins’ production. This game isn’t the best data point due to the lopsided score, but this is a situation worth monitoring over the next few weeks. Rollins is clearly enjoying a breakout season and is going to be a productive player for a long time. But KPJ could impact Rollins’ usage in the short term. Antetokounmpo only played 19 minutes due to the lopsided score, but that was more than enough time for him to pour in the points. Adebayo has recorded double-doubles in two straight and three of his last four games. With Tyler Herro now in the mix, increased rebounding may be what keeps Bam’s fantasy value where managers hoped it would be before the season began. Over the past two weeks, he has been a top-75 player in nine-cat formats. That doesn’t align with his Yahoo! ADP (32), and it could be difficult for Adebayo to reach those heights. He’ll look to prove otherwise, starting with Monday’s game against the Clippers.

Herro shot the ball well from beyond the arc, making six of his 11 attempts. However, what could have been an even bigger night was short-circuited by a 0-of-6 effort from inside the arc. Like Andrew Wiggins, Powell bounced back on Saturday after a subpar performance in Wednesday’s win over the Bucks. However, to be fair to Norman, that was his first game back from a strained groin that kept him out of the previous contest. He looked healthy against the Pistons, and he’s scored at least 25 points in nine games this season. So far, the inclusion of Tyler Herro has not been an issue for Powell, which is good news for fantasy managers.

After shooting 4-of-11 from the field in his first game back from a hip injury, Wiggins looked much sharper on Saturday. Shooting nearly 67 percent from the field, he recorded his first 30-point game of the season, and there was also value to be had in the rebound, assist and steals categories. With Tyler Herro and Norman Powell in the fold, Wiggins’ rest-of-season fantasy value may take a hit. However, he’s still providing top-100 value, so managers in 12-team leagues should look to sell high if possible. The Heat play four games in Week 7, starting with the Clippers on Monday.

Kuzma’s return to the bench did not affect his production negatively on Friday. He made his first seven attempts from the field, and the 20 points were the most he’s scored in a game since November 14 (season-high 29 vs. Charlotte). Fantasy managers who were eager to drop Kuzma will want to hold off on that, especially with the Bucks hosting the Nets on Saturday. While Green’s production has not made him much more than a specialist within fantasy basketball, he continues to hold down his place within the Bucks’ starting lineup. Powell’s return from a one-game absence was an unspectacular one. Wednesday also marked Powell’s first game alongside Tyler Herro, who recently made his season debut while Powell was out with a groin injury.
