Undrafted from Arizona in 2024, Johnson has been a part of the Heat’s bench for the last two seasons. The 24-year-old forward won the slam dunk contest, besting the Spurs’ Carter Bryant in the final round. Bryant earned the only 50 score of the night with a dunk that resembled Vince Carter’s iconic dunk in the 2000 slam dunk contest, but failed to complete a dunk on his next turn. Johnson won the competition with a windmill jam after taking off from a step inside the free throw line.

After putting up All-Star-level numbers with the Clippers last season, Powell was traded to the Heat ahead of the final year of his current contract. And the move east has been a successful one for the guard individually, going into the All-Star break with averages of 23.0 points, 3.6 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 1.2 steals, and 2.9 three-pointers per game. That production was good enough to earn Powell his first All-Star nod, and he hopes to continue the relationship with the Heat for years to come. “Hopefully, there’s some good synergy from what they’ve seen that I bring to the table,” Powell said, according to the Miami Herald. “And hopefully a deal is able to be done sometime. But yeah, I see myself being here and being a part of the Heat organization for however long they’ll have me.” Having entered the season with a Yahoo! ADP of 86, Powell has offered top-50 fantasy value for most of the season. A lingering subplot for the Heat is Giannis Antetokounmpo’s future in Milwaukee, and the team is one of many that will have more resources at its disposal in the summer to make a move for the star forward if he becomes available.

Sensabaugh hadn’t scored at least 28 points in a game since he dropped 43 points in a loss to the Bulls on January 14. Sensabaugh is worth rostering if the Jazz decide to consistently play him that much during silly season.

In a statement released by the NBA less than an hour before the Jazz tipped off against the Trail Blazers on Thursday, commissioner Adam Silver said, “Overt behavior like this that prioritizes draft position over winning undermines the foundation of NBA competition and we will respond accordingly to any further actions that compromise the integrity of our games.” The Jazz were held accountable for holding out starters, notably Jaren Jackson Jr. and Lauri Markkanen, in the fourth quarter of the February 7 game against the Magic and February 9 game against the Heat. It’s been an active week for Silver, who also levied multiple suspensions against players stemming from a benches-clearing incident with the Hornets and Pistons. Only time will tell if the Jazz receive this message or decide to get more creative in their pursuit of better lottery odds.

George will get another night off, and he’ll look to recover during the All-Star break. Even if he comes back from the break healthy, George is a candidate to miss games down the stretch as the Jazz look to secure a more favorable pick in the 2026 NBA Draft. Isaiah Collier has shined with George out, so fantasy managers should continue to deploy him until further notice.

Jaren Jackson Jr. (knee) is out for the season, and the Jazz were already sitting their stars in the fourth quarter. It was only a matter of time before Markkanen started missing games, and Thursday’s matchup with Portland surely won’t be the last of the 2025-26 campaign. The news come out of left field, and Haynes notes that JJJ underwent surgery after a localized PVNS growth was discovered post trade. Fantasy managers should have already planned for him to miss fourth quarters, but now he’ll be totally unavailable. With Jackson Jr. sidelined and Utah already in active tank mode, it won’t be long before other starters begin to get shut down. “Silly season” heroes will emerge from this rotation, and some of the best are Kyle Filipowski, Brice Sensabaugh, Isaiah Collier and Vince Williams Jr.

Starting for the injured Keyonte George, Collier put together another high-assist effort in Utah’s blowout of the Kings. He’s recorded at least nine assists in five straight games, hitting double digits in four. Regardless of George’s availability, Collier will be worth rostering for the silly season, especially after the Jazz traded Walter Clayton Jr. to the Grizzlies as part of the Jaren Jackson Jr. deal.

After totaling 18 points on 5-of-19 shooting in Utah’s prior two games, Sensabaugh dropped an efficient 19 points on Wednesday. He played 24 minutes against the Kings, and depending on how the Jazz handle Lauri Markkanen’s workload, that could increase after the All-Star break. Markkanen has not exceeded 27 minutes since a February 1 loss to the Raptors, when he played 39, and he was on the floor for 21 minutes on Wednesday. Of course, his playing time on Wednesday was influenced by the game being a blowout, but the recent decrease in playing time lowers Markkanen’s fantasy ceiling. Twenty-five minutes of Markkanen is better than 30-plus minutes of many other forwards in fantasy basketball, but Utah’s focus on the draft lottery has done managers no favors.

One way to ensure that your team isn’t the focus of any tanking complaints is to blow the doors off your opponent as soon as possible. That’s what Jackson and the Jazz did on Wednesday, outscoring Sacramento 39-20 in the first quarter. He recorded a complete stat line in 22 minutes of play, and this feels like a case in which fantasy managers will be lucky to get 28-30 minutes out of Trip again this season. The Jazz end the pre-break portion of their schedule with a game against the Trail Blazers on Thursday.

Ware’s inconsistency has been maddening, as it’s landed him in Erik Spoelstra’s dog house on multiple occasions. However, after a poor showing in Monday’s loss to the Jazz, he got another opportunity to start on Wednesday. Give Ware credit for taking advantage of the opportunity, recording his second double-double in three games. While his season-long value remains high, Ware’s inconsistency lowers his ceiling. Hopefully, he’ll be able to go on a sustained run of good play after the All-Star break.

While he wasn’t the choice to fill the void left in the starting lineup by Andrew Wiggins, that didn’t prevent Jaquez from having another solid night at the office. And it was much needed, as the Heat wing totaled 13 points on 3-of-19 shooting against the Wizards and Jazz. Jaquez’s 23 points were the most in a game for him since a December 27 win over the Pacers in which he dropped 28. Add in the other categories, and this was an excellent night to have Jaquez rostered. Myron Gardner made the spot start in Wiggins’ absence, finishing with eight points, 10 rebounds, three assists, one steal, one block and two three-pointers in 23 minutes.

This was the second time in his last three games that Wiggins scored exactly 26 points, a number he has only surpassed on two other occasions this season. Jakučionis had the best game of his rookie season on Sunday, recording new highs in points and three-pointers. The 6-foot-6 guard shot 6-of-6 from beyond the arc and made 80 percent of his attempts from the field. Jakučionis’ fantasy value moving forward depends on the availability of Davion Mitchell (5/2/3/1 and one three-pointer in 25 minutes), as his opportunities tend to be limited when “Off Night” is available. While teammate Isaiah Collier played all 48 minutes, Markkanen didn’t even play half that.
