The Celtics, who secured the No. 2 seed in the East with Friday’s win over the Pelicans, will sit most of their key rotation players on Sunday. Pritchard and Hauser not playing would free up additional minutes for some of Boston’s rarely used perimeter reserves, including Ron Harper Jr. As for Vučević, his absence would open a spot in the rotation for Amari Williams.

The Celtics have already ruled out four of their five starters for Sunday’s regular-season finale, as the outcome will not impact their playoff seeding. White’s absence should free up additional minutes for Ron Harper Jr. and Max Shulga. Banton, who spent some time with the Celtics on a 10-day contract out of the All-Star break, is returning to Beantown on a two-year deal. The versatile wing has spent most of the 2025-26 season in the G League, appearing in five NBA games for the Clippers and Celtics. With Boston having secured the No. 2 seed on Friday, Banton may absorb some minutes in Sunday’s regular-season finale against the Magic.

Less than two weeks removed from reaching double figures in assists for the first time as a pro, Dieng did it again on Friday. The 12 helpers are a new career-high for the 22-year-old, who is getting the opportunities in Milwaukee that were rarely available when he was with the Thunder. Dieng’s ability to facilitate may have boosted his value within the Bucks’ front office, which is key since he’ll be a restricted free agent this summer.

Prince has recorded two double-doubles in his last three appearances, and he logged 35 minutes as a starter on Friday. Unfortunately, an early-season neck injury eliminated what little fantasy value the veteran forward possessed, but Prince has played well to finish the season. He has a player option worth just over $3.8 million for next season, and Prince can provide solid depth to a contending team when healthy.

Less than a week removed from recording his first 20-point game as a pro, Ryan established a new career-high on Friday. Shooting well over 50 percent from the field, the Bucks guard finished with 28 points while also providing solid value in rebounds, assists and three-pointers. Ryan is on a two-way contract, so the more he can do to impress Bucks decision-makers, the better. He should play plenty in Sunday’s season finale against the 76ers.

Green entered Friday 13 three-pointers away from Ray Allen’s franchise record for most three-pointers in a season, which is 229. He ended the night two away, as the Bucks’ guard caught fire against the Nets. Green shot 11-of-16 from beyond the arc, setting the franchise record for three-pointers in a game. By the end, the Nets were giving fouls to keep Green from putting up more shots from deep. He’ll look to break the single-season franchise record in Sunday’s season finale against the 76ers.

Pritchard came off the bench, but led the Celtics with 30 minutes played. The 28-year-old point guard had 21 points on 14 attempts from the field, five three-pointers and 10 assists. Brown had 23 points, but didn’t make much of an impact in any of the other categories and also had seven turnovers. It wasn’t the best return game for the 29-year-old shooting guard after missing Thursday’s loss to the Knicks with an Achilles injury. While he wasn’t Joe Mazzulla’s choice to fill in for the injured Jaylen Brown (Achilles), Scheierman still provided key offensive contributions on Thursday. The second-year wing made six of his seven three-point attempts, matching his career-high in points. In fact, Scheierman totaled 21 points over his previous five appearances. With no Jaylen Brown, the Celtics were going to need others to step up offensively on Thursday. Unsurprisingly, Pritchard answered the call, recording his first 20-point game since March 29 against the Hornets. He scored eight of his points in the third quarter, helping the Celtics erase a 12-point deficit and take a two-point lead into the fourth quarter. Thursday’s game was the first at Madison Square Garden for Tatum since he ruptured his Achilles tendon during Game 4 of last May’s second-round playoff series. The Celtics star recorded another double-double, his tenth of the season, and he’s scored at least 20 points in seven consecutive games. Sims achieved a career first in Wednesday’s defeat, a triple-double. The Bucks’ lost season has created more opportunities for the athletic center to show what he’s capable of, especially on nights when Myles Turner is unavailable. Having missed three of the Bucks’ prior four games, Rollins still logged 33 minutes on Wednesday. Brown led the Celtics with 35 points in the win over the Hornets on Tuesday. The 29-year-old small forward played much of the season without Jayson Tatum due to an Achilles injury, which went as expected with Brown’s volume increasing as well as his turnovers.
