Antetokounmpo popped up on the injury report Thursday morning as probable with a back injury. Nevertheless, the 30-year-old power forward is set to suit up Wednesday against the Wizards. The Greek Freak should be active in all fantasy lineups now that he’s officially available for the Bucks’ season opener.

The Thunder will be without multiple wing contributors for Thursday’s NBA Finals rematch, including Joe, who will miss a second straight game. The impact of his absence depends on the availability of starters Luguentz Dort (ankle) and Cason Wallace (knee), who are both considered questionable. The Thunder should have enough production if those two can play.

The Thunder emerged from Tuesday’s double-overtime win over the Rockets with a lengthy injury report, including Wallace, Luguentz Dort (ankle) and Alex Caruso (concussion) in addition to other key injuries. While Caruso won’t play on Thursday, Wallace and Dort are questionable. More will be required of Aaron Wiggins and Ajay Mitchell, especially with Jalen Williams (wrist) and Isaiah Joe (knee) also out.

Dort injured his ankle during Tuesday’s double-overtime win over the Rockets, but still played 45 of 58 minutes. With Alex Caruso (concussion) and Isaiah Joe (knee) out, and Cason Wallace (knee) being questionable, the Thunder could be light on wing options for Thursday’s NBA Finals rematch. Aaron Wiggins is healthy, as are Ajay Mitchell and Brooks Barnhizer. Wiggins would be the best streaming option of the three.

According to the Thunder, Caruso suffered a concussion during Tuesday’s double-overtime win over the Rockets. The veteran guard played 30 minutes off the bench and replaced Isaiah Hartenstein in the lineup to begin the second half. Caruso’s absence means more opportunities for Aaron Wiggins and Ajay Mitchell, especially if Jalen Williams (wrist) remains out.

Giannis was listed as active throughout Wednesday morning, so the late afternoon change in designation is certainly notable. Fantasy managers should stay on top of injury reports leading up to tip off. If Giannis is unable to go, Bobby Portis and Kyle Kuzma would presumably soak up his vacated minutes.

Although Mitchell was limited to 36 games last season due to a foot injury, he showed flashes of being able to contribute consistently when he was healthy. The second-year guard had a good night off the bench in Tuesday’s season opener, scoring 16 of Oklahoma City’s 36 bench points. With Jalen Williams (wrist), Isaiah Joe (knee) and Nikola Topić (groin) currently sidelined, there is a slight opening for Mitchell within the Thunder rotation. However, it’s important to remember he only played 15 minutes Tuesday night despite those absences. He’s worth adding to watchlists, but that’s about it right now.

Wallace was the choice to start Tuesday’s opener with Jalen Williams (wrist) unavailable, and the third-year guard was effective on both ends of the floor. He finished a blocked shot shy of a complete stat line and hit a three with 1:32 remaining in double overtime to give Oklahoma City a one-point lead. Wallace finished last season as a top-100 fantasy player, so Tuesday’s production was unsurprising to those familiar with his game. Not only should he be rostered while J-Dub is out, but Wallace will be worth holding onto after the Thunder return to full strength.

With the Thunder struggling to defend Alperen Şengün during the first half of Tuesday’s season opener, head coach Mark Daigneault shifted to the approach that worked well in his team’s Game 7 win over the Nuggets in the second round of last year’s playoffs. He called on Caruso to start the third quarter, with Isaiah Hartenstein (6/9/5/1 in 37 minutes) being pushed to the bench. Şengün continued to put up numbers, but Caruso’s insertion into the lineup helped slow the Rockets. And given his recent injury history, Caruso’s playing 30 minutes on Tuesday may be the biggest takeaway for fantasy managers.

Like most of his teammates, Gilgeous-Alexander struggled from deep, making just one of his nine three-point attempts. However, the reigning NBA MVP came up big when it mattered most, scoring 12 of his 35 points in the two overtime periods. Gilgeous-Alexander wasn’t as accurate at the foul line as he usually is, but there’s little reason for fantasy managers to be concerned after one game. Thursday’s matchup with the Pacers will present a different challenge for SGA, who will have to deal with full-court pressure throughout after taking on a bigger Rockets lineup in Tuesday’s opener.

While some of his teammates started slowly, Holmgren was on fire to begin Tuesday’s season opener. He made his first seven shots of the night, keeping the Thunder within striking distance as others worked their way into the action. Holmgren did not record any defensive stats, but fantasy managers can assume this won’t be the norm after he averaged 0.7 steals and 2.2 blocks per game last season. He failed to record a “stock” in just six games last season, one being the November 10 loss to the Warriors, in which Holmgren fractured his hip five minutes in.

The reigning champion Thunder open their season without a key starter, Jalen Williams, who is out with a right wrist injury. His place in the starting lineup will be taken by Wallace, who started 43 of the 68 games he appeared in last season. Wallace was a top-100 fantasy player last season and can provide similar value in 2025-26, even after J-Dub returns.

Initially expected to miss one to two weeks with a hamstring injury, Harris will be available when the Bucks open their season on Wednesday. Durability has been a concern for the veteran guard in recent years, and he’ll look to rejuvenate his career in Milwaukee. While the Bucks have multiple guards fighting for rotation minutes, Harris will have opportunities. He isn’t a player to add immediately, but keep an eye on Harris.

With Jalen Williams (wrist) already out, the Thunder will also play Tuesday’s opener without a solid bench contributor in Joe. His absence does not significantly impact fantasy basketball, but it does mean more playing time for Cason Wallace, Alex Caruso and Aaron Wiggins. Wallace was the most consistent fantasy performer of the three last season, but all have value.

Williams, who underwent right wrist surgery a few weeks after the Thunder won the NBA title, did not play at all during the preseason. While the injury is not expected to keep him out too deep into the regular season, J-Dub reportedly won’t be available for Tuesday’s opener. Cason Wallace, Aaron Wiggins and Alex Caruso will all have opportunities to contribute, with Wallace being the safest option in standard fantasy leagues.

Dieng’s three-pointer with less than a second remaining sealed the win for the Thunder in this one. The 22-year-old forward led OKC in points and shot attempts in this one. That isn’t going to happen during the regular season, but Dieng has shown enough so far in the preseason to take notice. Maybe the Thunder give him more bench minutes this year after the production they’ve seen so far.

Holmgren played 19 minutes in what was his preseason debut on Friday. The 23-year-old center was dealing with shoulder soreness, but appears ready to go for the start of the regular season. Holmgren still has immense upside, but will also resume his role from last year which would be enough to pay off his late second round ADP this year.

Holmgren’s appearance in Friday’s opening unit will mark his first minutes of the preseason. The versatile big man had been dealing with shoulder soreness throughout the training camp, but should be ready to go for the start of the regular season. He averaged 15.0 points, 8.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 2.2 blocks per game as a sophomore during the 2024-25 season en route to the Thunder’s first-ever NBA championship. Holmgren could take a leap in Year 3, but will presumably play a similar role to last season’s.

Whitehead, the 22nd overall pick in the 2023 draft, struggled to stay healthy during his two seasons with the Nets before being waived on October 13. The move to Oklahoma City gives him a fresh start, and he’ll likely spend most of his time in the G League. The Thunder have 15 players on standard contracts for the upcoming season, meaning Whitehead is most likely on an Exhibit 10 deal. If so, he would be in line for an $85,300 bonus if he spends 60 days with Oklahoma City’s G League affiliate. Managers competing in dynasty leagues can consider stashing Whitehead, but should not feel obligated to do so.

The Gary Harris Era isn’t off to a great start in Milwaukee. The 31-year-old shooting guard is a decent flier for a team like the Bucks to take, but the durability issues over his career are undeniable at this point. Harris appeared in 48 games for the Magic last year, but made only three starts and played just 14.8 minutes per game. Orlando declined its option on Harris for this season for a reason and Harris is already hurt again before the regular season even begins.

Porter Jr. appears to be the Bucks’s starting point guard heading into the season. He started once again, dropped 15 points in 24 minutes and made 4-of-6 three-pointers. Porter Jr. will have fantasy value as long as he plays well enough to maintain the role as the primary point guard. Offseason addition Cole Anthony had 21 points and went 5-of-6 on three-pointers in 19 minutes. Anthony at least gives the Bucks a depth option at points guard should Porter Jr. falter at any point this season.

Giannis might’ve been headed for a triple-double if he played his usual nearly 40 minutes, but he played just 25 minutes because it’s the preseason. The 30-year-old power forward made 6-of-10 free throws against the Thunder on Tuesday after shooting 61 percent from the free throw line last year. Despite his troubles from the foul line, the Greek Freak is a steal in the back half of the first round of fantasy basketball drafts.

Wallace averaged just 8.4 points in 27 minutes per game last year. Against the Bucks on Tuesday, he had nine points in 27 minutes. The eight assists were intriguing, though. Wallace averaged just 2.5 assists per game last year in the regular season, though he 3.6 assists per game in 25 minutes per game over five games in the Western Conference finals last year. Maybe Wallace could have more of a playmaking role this year, which would certainly be a boost to his otherwise middling fantasy value. The 21-year-old shooting guard could also see a boost in minutes if Jalen Williams (wrist) is out to begin the season.

Hartenstein had more of a scoring role in this one as the Thunder were without Chet Holmgren. The 27-year-old center led the team in shot attempts with 10 and had 13 points in 22 minutes. He didn’t attempt a free throw. Hartenstein didn’t have his usual playmaking role against the Bucks as he had just one assist despite averaging a career-high 3.8 assists with the Thunder last year. He’s going in the middle rounds of 2025 fantasy basketball drafts.

Gilgeous-Alexander was highly efficient against the Bucks as he dropped 23 points on 10 attempts. His only misses from the field were two three-point attempts and he got to the foul line eight times while making six free throws. The reigning MVP looked primed for another sensational season. He’s coming off the board third overall in most fantasy drafts behind only Nikola Jokic and Victor Wembanyama.

The big man added six boards, an assist and a block. Turner shot nothing but three-pointers, and he knocked down 5-of-8 while leading Milwaukee in the scoring department. Games like these are what Turner can provide to fantasy managers, though some more rebounds and blocks would be a nice, added touch. He heads into the 2025-26 season as a fringe top-50 pick in fantasy leagues.

Antetokounmpo made his first start of the preseason after getting over a case of COVID-19, and he delivered a strong performance. Giannis’ stats certainly weren’t eye-popping, but a double-double in limited time after getting over an illness is definitely encouraging. The free throw element of Giannis’ game keeps him out of the No. 1 conversation in fantasy basketball, but he should go in the first round of every draft.

Mitchell suffered a lower-body injury in the loss, potentially rolling his ankle. It’s unclear if the injury contributed to his limited playing time, but he was excellent when on the court. Williams, who agreed to a five-year rookie max extension in July, underwent surgery on his right wrist a few weeks after the Thunder won the NBA title. The good news is that he’s back on the court doing individual work. The bad news is that Williams is not shooting with his right hand, with the regular season beginning on October 21. And the Thunder have been tight-lipped on whether he’ll be ready for opening night, with head coach Mark Daigneault simply saying that Williams is “progressing on a normal timeline.” Fantasy managers willing to draft Williams should consider using a late-round pick on a player like Cason Wallace, Aaron Wiggins or Isaiah Joe as an insurance policy if they have to start the season with J-Dub in an IL+ slot.

The sharp-shooting wing was dominant from beyond the arc on Thursday, tallying a game-high in three-pointers to finish as OKC’s leading scorer. All of Joe’s field goal attempts and makes came from beyond the arc against the Hornets. After rejuvenating his NBA career during his time with the Bucks late last season, Porter is on track to be the team’s starting point guard to open the regular season. He didn’t miss a shot from the field against the Pistons and generally made solid decisions with the basketball in his 14 minutes of game time. Given the track record, Porter can be challenging to trust in fantasy leagues fully. However, the opportunity in front of KPJ makes him worth the risk as a late-round pick.

Giannis Antetokounmpo was on the Bucks bench in street clothes Thursday night, so Portis received the starting nod. The veteran forward/center was solid playing alongside Myles Turner, and he’ll provide consistent fantasy value when the regular season begins, whether he starts or comes off the bench. Portis has finished each of the last three seasons ranked just outside the top-100 in per-game value, making him well worth the risk in the later rounds of fantasy drafts.

With Kyle Kuzma unavailable, Green was inserted into the starting lineup for Thursday’s game. He took full advantage of the opportunity, hitting all five of his three-point attempts and leading the Bucks with 22 points. Green has not been much of a fantasy asset in Milwaukee, but he’s worked hard to earn rotation minutes.
