Gordon had eight points in 37 minutes in Game 3, but missed Game 3 with a calf injury. Spencer Jones started, but had just six points in Game 3. If Gordon is out again, Jones would be a candidate for another spot start. Gordon remains questionable for Game 4 on Saturday.

Jones got the start for the injured Aaron Gordon (calf) but didn’t make much of an impact. In his 28 minutes, he made his only two three-point shots but was otherwise mostly unproductive in terms of his counting stats. If Gordon misses Game 4, there’s a chance Jones could start again.

Murray had by far his worst game of the series on Thursday. He struggled with the length of Minnesota’s Jaden McDaniels throughout the contest and failed to generate many clean looks. Murray didn’t convert any of his three-point attempts in Game 3, and in addition to his scoring struggles, produced only four assists. Denver’s offense couldn’t figure out Minnesota’s defense in Game 3, and it’ll need to be much better on Saturday.

Jokić missed 19 shots on Thursday and made more free throws than field goals. His struggles contributed to Denver’s offensive inefficiency as a group. Still, he was the team’s leading scorer by a wide margin, and his three assists told the story of how unimpactful his supporting cast was on offense. Jokić has shot 40.0 percent or worse in the two losses in this opening-round series; he’ll likely need to turn things around offensively for Denver to avoid dropping a third straight game on Saturday.

Partially due to foul trouble and potentially due to the bothersome knee, Edwards logged only 24 minutes in the Game 4 victory. He struggled with his shot throughout the contest and didn’t make any major contributions in other statistical categories. Still, he was a plus-11 in his time on the floor and, at the very least, his presence was felt. He’ll have a day in between games to treat his knee before taking the floor again in an important Game 4 on Saturday.

McDaniels’ two stocks don’t quite tell the story of his impact defensively in Thursday’s win. He hounded Denver’s Jamal Murray throughout the game and forced the championship-winning point guard to log one of his worst performances of the postseason. And on the other end, McDaniels shot the basketball extremely well and had a couple of electrifying buckets down the stretch before finishing as one of Minnesota’s top scorers. Surely, he’ll play a big role on Saturday in Game 4.

Dosunmu was stellar on Thursday. On the heels of a 9/4/5 line in Game 2, the reserve wing was Minnesota’s top scorer in Game 3, doing all of his work inside the three-point line. His biggest impact as a scorer came in the middle two quarters, when he tallied 17 points on 6-of-7 shooting. And he also finished Thursday’s contest just one assist shy of a double-double. Dosunmu was fantastic down the stretch of the regular season for the Wolves, and he continues to come up big for the team since his arrival ahead of the trade deadline.

Gordon’s absence on Thursday leaves a big hole in Denver’s starting lineup. The Nuggets will go with Jones in the frontcourt, who started over half of his 64 regular-season games for the Nuggets. He’s seen limited minutes and provided minimal production off the bench in the first two games of the opening-round series against Minnesota.

Edwards has been upgraded from questionable to available on Thursday for the third time in as many games. He continues to manage a knee injury up until game time, but has gone on to log 78 minutes in the series, posting averages of 26.0 points, 9.5 rebounds, 4.5 assists, and 2.5 blocks. He’ll take the floor in Game 3 on the heels of a 30-point, 10-rebound double-double.

Neither Shannon nor Clark has seen the court yet through two games against the Nuggets. Their absences on Thursday shouldn’t have more than a minimal impact on Minnesota’s depth.

After previously being downgraded from probable to questionable, Gordon is now ruled out of Thursday’s contest. Without him, the Nuggets lose arguably their best defender and one of their more versatile offensive weapons as they look to rebound from a Game 3 loss. Bruce Brown could be a player who sees more minutes in Gordon’s absence.

Shannon Jr. and Clark serve primarily as depth options, so if they are unavailable, Ayo Dosunmu could see additional run.

Watson will miss his third game of the series as he continues to deal with a hamstring injury. He averaged 14.6 points and 1.5 three-pointers per game during the regular season.

If available on Thursday, the Nuggets could benefit from a performance that more closely resembles the 17/8/3 line in Game 1 than the 8/7/4 line that Gordon logged in Game 2, as they look to respond from a loss. If unavailable, Bruce Brown could see extended minutes off the bench.

Edwards is questionable for the third time already in the series. He’s ultimately been upgraded to available prior to each game so far, with that potentially being the case for Game 3. The superstar guard totaled 30 points and 10 rebounds in an impressive Game 2 victory for the Timberwolves, who will look to capitalize on their home-court advantage on Thursday. Should Edwards play, he’ll have a chance to put up more big numbers.

After scoring 12 points in Denver’s Game 1 victory on Saturday, Braun was more productive in Game 2. However, one of the main talking points from Monday’s defeat will be his missed free throw with the Nuggets trailing by two with 19 seconds remaining. Braun would hit the second to pull Denver to within one, but having to foul allowed Minnesota to extend his lead to three. Also, he’s one of the players the Nuggets will need to step up defensively, as they struggled on that end of the floor for most of the regular season and for parts of Game 2.

Jokić finished Game 2 two assists shy of a triple-double, but Minnesota’s Rudy Gobert once again did a solid job of defending the three-time league MVP. For the second consecutive game, Jokić committed five turnovers, and he shot 40 percent from the field. While Jokić did get his numbers, the Nuggets’ margin for error is slim given their defensive issues, especially with Peyton Watson still out due to injury. Denver will look to retake the series lead when they visit Minnesota for Game 3 on Thursday.

Murray had it rolling early in Game 2, capping a 23-point first half with a half-court shot as time expired to end the second quarter. However, the Timberwolves buckled down defensively, limiting the Nuggets’ guard to seven second-half points. Murray’s miss of a challenged mid-range jumper led to a Donte DiVincenzo dunk that extended Minnesota’s lead to five with just under four seconds remaining, ending the game. Murray scored 30 points in both games in Denver, but Game 2 felt far different because of the subpar second half.

DiVincenzo’s dunk in the final seconds sealed Minnesota’s 119-114 victory, and he knocked down a few timely three-pointers to help even the series. Through two games, the Timberwolves’ guard has shot 8-of-14 from beyond the arc, and that’s after shooting a combined 11-of-30 from deep in the final four games of the regular season. If DiVincenzo can shoot the ball as well as he did in Games 1 and 2, that would go a long way toward helping the Timberwolves advance. Game 3 is on Thursday.

While quiet during the second half of Game 2, Randle’s performance in the first half helped the Timberwolves erase a double-digit deficit. He scored 18 points before halftime, combining with Anthony Edwards to score 38 of the Timberwolves’ 64 points. Randle finished with solid percentages and was one rebound shy of a double-double, performing much better than he did in Saturday’s Game 1 defeat. The Timberwolves host Game 3 on Thursday night.

Edwards is still getting his stamina up to par after missing a large portion of the final month of the regular season. And playing at altitude may not have helped in Saturday’s series opener, but he was better in Game 2. Edwards scored 20 points in the first half and finished with a 30-point double-double as part of a complete stat line. As a result, Minnesota heads home with the series tied at one game apiece. Game 3 is on Thursday night.

Watson’s 2025-26 postseason debut will have to wait at least one game longer, as the fourth-year guard is set to miss Monday’s second game. Bruce Brown, Tim Hardaway Jr., and Spencer Jones should remain the primary wing options off the bench, as was the case in Denver’s Game 1 victory.

Edwards is showing up on Sunday’s injury report with a knee issue, likely the same injury that gave him issues and caused him to miss time down the stretch of the regular season. His potential absence would serve as a big blow to the Timberwolves as they look to even up the series. But even if he does play, he’ll likely need to improve on the inefficient 22-point performance he had in Game 1.
