This wasn’t a great series for Podziemski, but he ended it on a high note. He set a new playoff career high for points and still contributed value in other categories across the board. Podz has solidified his spot in the starting lineup with the way the roster is currently constructed. He should be an enticing pick in fantasy drafts next season, especially if the Warriors lean on him for more production to keep Stephen Curry, Jimmy Butler and Draymond Green fresh for the postseason.

For a player that was out of the rotation at times during this postseason, Kuminga may have earned himself a nice payday in the final four games of this series. Head coach Steve Kerr needed offense with Stephen Curry (hamstring) sidelined, and Kuminga was able to fill the void. He averaged 24.3 points on 55.4 percent shooting in Games 2-5. Kuminga is set to be a restricted free agent, and even if it isn’t the Warriors handing him a big contract, the 22-year-old should be able to find a team to pay him.

Butler’s first season with the Warriors came to a disappointing conclusion. They were one of the best teams after acquiring Butler and won Game 1 of the second round. Unfortunately, a Stephen Curry hamstring injury ended their championship hopes, though Curry may have been able to return for Game 6 if the series was still going. Butler will be 36 at the start of next season, and he will likely continue to put an emphasis on rest during the regular season to make sure he’s healthy to help Golden State make another playoff push next year.

Conley has been a consistent starter for most of the season, but he hasn’t been productive in the box score, especially during the postseason. However, he changed that on Wednesday. He set new highs for points, rebounds, assists and three-pointers during these playoffs as Minnesota closed out their series with Golden State to return to the Western Conference Finals. Conley will continue to start, but it’s unlikely that he replicates this production in the next round.

The turnovers weren’t pretty, but everything else went right for Edwards in Game 5 as Minnesota completed their second straight gentlemen’s sweep. He didn’t score 30 points, which he had done in the two games in Golden State, but Edwards did dish out a new playoff career high for assists in a new game, which also matches his career high for dimes in the regular season. This was a fantastic performance for Edwards, even if he didn’t dominate as a scorer. He’ll need to continue to play at a high level in the Western Conference Finals, whether it is against Oklahoma City or Denver.

Randle played at a high level in the first round, but he was dominant in the gentlemen’s sweep of the Warriors. He struggled in Game 1, which Minnesota dropped, but during the final four games of the series, Randle averaged 27.0 points, 7.5 rebounds, 7.8 assists, one steal and two triples while making 55.7 percent of his shots. Turnovers were still an issue, but they didn’t prevent the Timberwolves for winning four straight games. They’ll now await the winner of the Thunder-Nuggets series, and if Randle continues to play like this, Minnesota will have a chance to make the NBA Finals for the first time in franchise history.

Unsurprisingly, Curry is officially out for Game 5 due to the hamstring injury he suffered during Game 1. Game 6, which will be played on May 18, was a far more realistic possibility for the Warriors’ superstar guard. Buddy Hield will likely remain in the starting lineup, with Jonathan Kuminga taking on a more prominent role off the bench. Those two and Brandin Podziemski will need to be at their best if the Warriors are to extend this series, which they trail three games to one.

Podziemski was 3-of-14 from the field and missed all four of his three-point attempts. His 22.5 field goal percentage in this series is the worst for any player (min. 35 attempts) since Pero Antic shot 16.7 percent in the Hawks vs. Pacers series in 2014, according to Josh Dubow of the Associated Press. Down 3-1 in the series now, the Warriors need Stephen Curry to return from his hamstring injury for Game 5, a miracle or both to get back in this series.

Despite the Warriors win in Game 1, Butler warned in postgame interviews that Stephen Curry is the team’s best player and it was going to be difficult to win games without him. After what’s transpired over the last three games, which the Warriors have all lost, he might’ve been underselling it. Butler wasn’t able to fill Curry’s shoes in Game 4. In fact, he was a team-worst minus-30 in 34 minutes in the seven-point loss. The Warriors will have their backs against the wall facing elimination in Game 5 on Wednesday.

Randle has now had at least 24 points in each of the last three games in this series and the Timberwolves have won all three of those games. The Timberwolves won the third quarter by 22 points and the Warriors never recovered. Edwards and teammate Julius Randle became the first pair of Timberwolves with at least 30 points each in a playoff game since Kevin Garnett and Sam Cassell in 2004. Game 3 on Saturday was the second straight contest Curry has missed after straining his left hamstring during Game 1. While he did some shooting and rode the exercise bike during Saturday’s workout, the Warriors guard has yet to do anything at full speed. Given the scheduling in the second round, the hope is that Golden State can pick up a win and extend the series to Game 6, which falls on May 18, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania. With Curry sidelined, Jonathan Kuminga entered the rotation, finishing Game 3 with 30 points, six rebounds, three assists, two blocks and three three-pointers in 36 minutes off the bench.

It’s no secret that the Warriors are desperate for offense without Stephen Curry (hamstring) in the lineup. While Buddy Hield has done an admirable job stepping up in these playoffs, Kuminga has easily had his two best games since Curry went out. The 22-year-old power forward had 18 points in 26 minutes in Game 2 and 30 points in 36 minutes in Game 3. While the Warriors lost both games, beggars can’t be choosers and Golden State has to be happy with that production. The Warriors are going to need to extend this series to at least six games for Curry to potentially return to the court. Kuminga is likely to continue to be a factor as Golden State tries to steal one of the next two games.

It was a vintage performance from Playoff Jimmy. Unfortunately for the Warriors, things didn’t quite go their way down the stretch. A 9-0 Timberwolves run with about five minutes left in the fourth quarter overlapped with a sequence where Draymond Green picked up two fouls in less than 20 seconds and fouled out of the game. Butler’s 33 points were enough to keep the Warriors in it until late even without Steph Curry (hamstring). Golden State will have to find a way to win one of the next two games before Curry could potentially return in Game 6.

The triple-double was the first of Randle’s playoff career. He continues to be excellent in these playoffs as the Timberwolves seem poised for a Western Conference Finals run. Randle had three clutch assists in the final minutes of the fourth quarter as the Timberwolves pulled away from the Warriors. His assist on an Anthony Edwards three-pointer with 1:19 to go that extended their lead to seven points was the dagger. This series will continue Monday night in Golden State as the Timberwolves look to go up 3-1 in the series.

While Edwards was somewhat quiet in the first half with eight points, he went off in the second half with 28 points. It’s the highest-scoring half by anyone so far in these playoffs. Edwards threw in the dagger with a three-pointer that gave the Timberwolves a seven-point lead with 1:19 remaining in the fourth quarter. Minnesota looks like the better team as they’ve convincingly won the last two games as the Warriors soldier on without Stephen Curry (hamstring). Edwards and the Timberwolves will look to take a commanding 3-1 series lead in Game 4 on Monday.

Curry is sitting out his second game in a row Saturday with the first hamstring injury he’s ever dealt with in his 16-year career. The 37-year-old point guard suffered the injury in Game 1, which the Warriors were still able to win. According to Charania, the Warriors are hoping they can just win one more game to push the series to at least a Game 6, which would be the earliest Curry could return. Golden State could benefit from a unique scheduling quirk which includes four days between Games 5 and 6 of this series. Game 6 falls on May 18, which would give Curry well over a week off and also shows how serious his injury is given that’s the earliest he could potentially return.

The Warriors have had to shuffle their lineup for Game 2 and now Game 3 with Stephen Curry out with a hamstring injury. In Game 2, the Warriors went with a bigger lineup and inserted Quinten Post in with the starters. Post played just three minutes as the Warriors fell behind early and lost by 24. Golden State will go with Jackson-Davis, who played 19 minutes off the bench in Game 2, in the starting lineup for Game 3. Hield moved into the Warriors’ starting lineup in the first round and the team became somewhat reliant on his scoring. With Stephen Curry (hamstring) out in Game 2, Hield started and played 29 minutes. Curry suffered a Grade 1 strain of his left hamstring during Tuesday’s Warriors’ series-opening win over the Timberwolves. While ESPN’s Shams Charania reported Wednesday that the guard is expected to miss at least one week, Curry refused to give a target date when asked about his injury on Thursday. “No,” Curry said, according to The Athletic. “This is new, and from all that I’m learning about how quickly you can get back, there has to be a healing process. It’s just the way the body works. You can’t accelerate more than the body is telling you. It’ll be one of those after a week, really re-evaluate it every day to understand when it’s safe just to even think about playing.” This is the first hamstring injury of Curry’s career, so he’s in uncharted territory. Jimmy Butler, Brandin Podziemski and Buddy Hield will have added importance within the Warriors’ offense, and the latter has shot 14-of-19 from three in his last two games.

Shams notes that Curry has already been ruled out for Game 2 on Thursday, but the week timeline means he’ll miss Game 3 on Saturday and Game 4 on Monday with a chance to return for Game 5 on Wednesday. This is the first muscle strain of Curry’s career, so how quickly he returns will depend on how he responds to rehab. Fortunately for Golden State, the team came away with a win on the road in Game 1, and two of the next three games will be at home, giving the Warriors a chance to stay alive while their superstar PG is out. Expect Buddy Hield to step into a much larger role on offense while Curry is sidelined. Before Sunday’s Game 7, few likely expected Hield to be the Warriors’ leading scorer. After scoring 32 points in Games 3 and 4, he totaled four points on 2-of-10 shooting in the two losses that forced a decisive seventh game.
