Jones has been sidelined since he suffered a sprained MCL in his right knee during a November 16 game against the Celtics. At the time, it was announced that he would miss at least six weeks. However, Jones has been able to play some 1-on-1 and 3-on-3 recently, and his head coach considers the forward to be “ahead of schedule” in his recovery. John Collins has been the starting power forward in Jones’ absence, but that has not done much to bolster his fantasy value.

On the heels of a two-point outing against the Suns, DiVincenzo bounced back nicely on Friday with his fourth 20-point game of the season. He hadn’t had a significant impact on the game through three quarters, but saved his best for the fourth. In the final frame, he recorded 10 points and knocked down two massive three-pointers to swing the momentum and ultimately help the Wolves get back in the win column. With Mike Conley (Achilles) and Anthony Edwards (foot) out on Friday, and Bones Hyland (knee) exiting early with an injury, there’s a chance DiVincenzo’s usage and production could take a jump in the short term.

After being ejected from Monday’s loss to the Suns, Gobert responded with one of his better performances of the season on Friday. In the win, the veteran center crossed the 20-point mark for the second time this season and pulled down double-digit rebounds to claim his 10th double-double. Most notably, Gobert came up big in the fourth quarter by going 6-of-6 from the field with a key basket down the stretch to help the Timberwolves get back in the win column. His numbers are down slightly this season, but he remains a nightly double-double threat.

Randle did a little bit of everything for the Timberwolves on Friday. The veteran forward led all Minnesota players in scoring, taking advantage of the charity stripe and efficient overall shooting. His work on the boards brought him close to a double-double, and he made several key passes down the stretch of the fourth quarter to help the Wolves land a bounce-back win. Randle has now tallied at least 20 points in four consecutive games and continues to provide value as a facilitator.

There’s just one change to the Timberwolves’ starting lineup, but it’s significant. Anthony Edwards is out with a foot injury, so Hyland will make his first start as a Timberwolf. While Randle’s fantasy value has slipped recently, with the forward being a seventh-round player in eight-cat formats over the past two weeks, he’s scored at least 20 points in three straight games. And after averaging 18.7 points per game in his first season with the Timberwolves, Randle has pushed the number up to 22.9 this season while shooting nearly 50 percent from the field. The production and efficiency have improved, making Randle a reliable player to roster, regardless of league format.

Having shot 6-of-17 from the field in his previous two outings, Edwards was a game-time decision for Monday’s game with an illness. He showed no ill effects once the contest got underway, with the Timberwolves guard recording his fifth 40-point game of the season. Even with that two-game mini-slump, Edwards is shooting 55 percent from the field and providing top-20 value in eight-cat formats over the past two weeks. Leonard has scored at least 20 points in six straight and seven of the eight games he’s played since returning from ankle and foot injuries. He has provided second-round value in eight-cat formats since returning, and he has not missed a game. Harden finished Saturday’s defeat with a robust stat line, and he made some personal history. The Clippers guard moved into tenth on the NBA’s all-time scoring list, passing Carmelo Anthony. After struggling with turnovers and foul trouble in Thursday’s win over the Pelicans, Edwards had another difficult night on Saturday. A perfect night at the foul line boosted his points tally, but he was also responsible for five turnovers. The good news for fantasy managers is that Edwards provided solid value in rebounds, assists and “stocks,” but they’ll be hoping for better in Week 8. The 27 points were the most he’s scored in a game since October 29, when he dropped a season-high 30 on the Lakers. He finished the comeback victory with a complete stat line and has provided seventh-round value in eight- and nine-cat formats over the past two weeks. On a night when Anthony Edwards was limited to 3-of-11 shooting, Randle was one of the Timberwolves who stepped up to help erase a slow start. He’s scored at least 22 points in three of his last four outings, but the decreases in points and field-goal percentage are why Randle has only been a top-75 player in eight-cat formats over the past two weeks. Zubac’s production on Friday was minimal compared to what he has shown over the past couple of seasons. The veteran center didn’t find many scoring opportunities on Friday, and was surprisingly unimpactful on the glass in his 35 minutes of game action. As a result, his streak of double-doubles ended at three games, and he failed to secure double-digit rebounds for the first time since November 22 against the Hornets. Harden’s numbers were down on Friday across the board, as he put forth one of his least productive outings of the season. He finished with fewer than 20 points for just the 15th time this season, which didn’t appear would be the case after scoring 13 first-quarter points. He was also unproductive on the glass and didn’t provide his usual level of impact as a passer. Leonard led the Clippers in scoring on Friday, but did so without scoring efficiently from beyond the arc. He shot 2-of-9 from deep and struggled with his shooting in the fourth quarter as the Grizzlies took control and eventually won the game. From a fantasy basketball standpoint, Leonard was solid — he did well on the glass and tallied more assists than his season’s average while chipping in a couple of stocks. Two days removed from torching the Pelicans for 44 points in an overtime victory, Edwards had arguably his worst game of the season. Due to foul trouble, he attempted six shots from the field, the second-fewest in a game for Ant-Man this season. He only attempted five shots in an October 26 win over the Pacers, but that’s because the Timberwolves guard exited after three minutes due to injury. After logging 38 minutes and putting forth a dominant showing in Tuesday’s win over the Pelicans, Gobert only played 24 minutes in Thursday’s rematch. This isn’t the first time that Timberwolves head coach has decided to go small in crunch time, but that’s a concern when discussing Gobert’s fantasy value. He’s providing 11th-round value in eight- and nine-cat formats, well below his Yahoo! ADP (68). Seven Timberwolves scored in double figures on Thursday, with Reid’s total being surpassed only by Julius Randle, who scored 28. With head coach Chris Finch being willing to go small down the stretch, as he has on a few occasions this season, it was Reid who was on the floor while starting center Rudy Gobert was on the bench. Reid is already rostered in 74 percent of Yahoo! leagues, but, notably, he’s played at least 28 minutes in each of his last four appearances (33 on Thursday). On a night when Anthony Edwards finished with more turnovers (eight) than shot attempts (six), Randle led the way as other Timberwolves picked up the slack. Haynes’ initial report said the Clippers were “severing ties” with Paul, and the team released a statement confirming that. Paul also posted on Instagram at 2:40 a.m. in Atlanta, where the Clippers are playing on Wednesday, that he is being sent home. Paul announced previously that this would be his final season, so this could give him an opportunity to join a contending team to close out his career. That was likely the idea with the Clippers, along with Paul enjoying some of the best seasons of his career with them, but the team has started off 5-16. After failing to hit double figures in scoring for the first time since November 4 in Friday’s loss to the Grizzlies, Zubac began a new streak on Saturday. The double-double was his 12th of the season, and the playing time remains high. Zubac has played at least 32 minutes in four straight and nine of his last ten games. The concern after Saturday’s game was the collision with Dallas’ Dwight Powell, which caused Zubac to hit the back of his head on the court.
