While Randle shot the ball well and recorded a decent stat line, he was also responsible for seven of the Timberwolves’ 10 turnovers in Game 1. That’s an area he’ll need to clean up moving forward, and he’s certainly capable of doing that. Randle’s high during the regular season was eight, which he recorded in a December 23 loss to the Hawks. The Timberwolves’ forward only had eight games with at least five turnovers, so Saturday’s performance can be considered an outlier. Minnesota will look to extend its series lead in Game 2 on Tuesday.

Reid took a Jarred Vanderbilt elbow to the mouth during the second half of Saturday’s series opener, and that was all that slowed him down. The Timberwolves’ backup big scored 17 in the first half and finished the game one steal shy of a complete stat line. Since scoring 20 points in a March 24 loss to the Pacers, Reid surpassed 15 points once in his final eight appearances of the regular season. The Lakers employed a “boxes and elbows” defensive strategy to prevent Anthony Edwards from entering the lane, which allowed players like Reid to receive cleaner looks. His play (and that of Jaden McDaniels) could force the Lakers to alter their approach for Tuesday’s Game 2.

Edwards didn’t have his best night shooting the basketball, but he recorded solid numbers in the rebound and assist categories. The lone concern was his exit from Game 1 during the third quarter with an apparent calf injury. Edwards did return early in the fourth with a sleeve on his right leg, and he said during the postgame interview that the calf is getting better “day-by-day.” The good news for him and the Timberwolves is that Game 2 isn’t until Tuesday, so he’ll have a few days to rest up.

McDaniels’ aggressiveness on the offensive end was one of the key factors in Minnesota’s Game 1 victory. He didn’t hesitate to make plays on that end of the floor, and the result was a highly efficient outing in Los Angeles. McDaniels scored 20 points or more 12 times during the regular season, most recently doing so in a March 16 win over the Jazz. Nights like Saturday have not been the norm for Jaden, so it would be unsurprising if his production took a hit in Game 2 on Tuesday. However, his performance in Game 1 has given the Lakers something to think about when they draw up their defensive game plan for Tuesday.

Dillingham is a late addition to the Timberwolves’ injury report for Saturday’s series opener. He has not been in the rotation recently, last reaching double digits in minutes played on February 28. Dillingham’s status will only have an impact if Minnesota were to lose one of its veteran guards due to injury.

Tshiebwe hasn’t been able to carve out a role in the NBA since going undrafted in 2023, but whenever he gets the opportunity to play, he dominates the glass. He has played in 10 games since the All-Star break and has finished with at least 10 rebounds in eight of them. Sunday’s game was his third-straight double-double, which is a great way for him to end the season. Unfortunately, there isn’t currently a clear path for him to play rotation minutes next season, so we may have to wait until next March and April for him to shine.

What a way to close out the season for Sensabaugh. The second-year guard had at least 20 points and five three-pointers in Utah’s final three games of the season. Sensabaugh also had some big performances at the end of last season, but his role entering year two was a minimal one. It’s unclear what things will look like entering his third season in the NBA, which makes him a difficult player to consider drafting next year, especially if Utah opts to tank again. Still, the 21-year-old has proven his potential once again to wrap up the season.

Gobert wasn’t able to provide a true encore to his 35-point performance on Friday, but he was able to turn in another double-double. The final few weeks entering the postseason have been excellent for Gobert; this was his fifth game with at least 15 rebounds in his last 10 appearances. This may not have been Gobert’s most productive regular season, but he’s getting hot at the right time. Minnesota will have a week off before they travel for Game 1 of their first-round matchup.

Edwards was originally supposed to be serving a one-game suspension on Sunday after picking up his 18th technical foul of the season on Friday. However, the tech was rescinded by the league, which allowed him to be available for the regular season finale to help the Timberwolves clinch a spot in the playoffs. This game went much better than Friday’s for Edwards; he was held to just nine points, which was only his second time this season scoring less than 10 points in a game, with the first coming in a big win over the Lakers in December. In this one, he had his second 40-point game of the month and will enter the postseason on a high note. Edwards also needed exactly seven three-pointers in this game to lead the league in total threes made this season; he hit just enough to beat out Malik Beasley.

Martin will remain out on Sunday, missing a fifth straight game due to illness. Micah Potter played 32 minutes off the bench in Friday’s loss to the Thunder and may take on a similar workload on Sunday. However, fantasy managers in active leagues should target Kyle Filipowski and Brice Sensabaugh first.

Collier’s rookie season ends disappointingly, as a hamstring injury cost him Utah’s final three games. However, there were some positives to take from his first NBA season. A fixture in the Jazz starting lineup since early January, Collier provided solid production in the assist category while also being a solid defender. However, the limited scoring negatively impacted his fantasy value, and that’s an area to watch during Summer League play in Las Vegas. Keyonte George should remain in the starting lineup on Sunday.

Edwards was whistled for a technical foul against the Nets on Friday, which was his 18th of the season. If it wasn’t rescinded, he would’ve been suspended for a must-win game against Utah on Sunday. Now, he’ll be available to play. Minnesota can still finish anywhere from fourth to eighth in the West, so they need to beat the Jazz and have some other games go their way. Edwards’ availability will help their chances of winning.

Sensabaugh scored 16 of his 25 points in the second half, though it wasn’t enough for Utah to come anywhere close to keeping up with Oklahoma City in this game. This was his second-straight game with at least 20 points and five triples, and it was his highest-scoring game since January 5. Sensabaugh also set a new career-high for assists. The 2023 first-round pick will look to end his second season on a high note in Minnesota on Sunday.

Mykhailiuk, who hadn’t scored in double figures since March 5, shattered his previous season-high of 19 points in the blowout loss. In fact, he set a new career-high for scoring, surpassing his previous mark of 26 points, which he had reached twice. In fact, the Jazz are now the fourth team that Mykhailiuk has scored 25 points in a game for. He should continue to play a significant role in the season finale against the Timberwolves on Sunday, but he may not replicate his production from this game.

Two days after recording a monster 30/18 double-double, Filipowski provided an encore, though it was nowhere near as good as the original. The rookie has grabbed at least nine rebounds in seven consecutive games and has four double-doubles during that stretch. He slipped to the second round of the draft last summer, but the early returns suggest he was one of the biggest steals of the draft. Filipowski should once again play a large role in Minnesota on Sunday to wrap up his rookie season.

After dropping a 30-point double-double in Thursday’s win over the Grizzlies, Randle had another productive night against the Nets. He only missed three of his 11 shot attempts and provided solid value in multiple categories. Minnesota needs a win over the Jazz on Sunday and other positive results to avoid the play-in tournament, so Randle should take on his usual workload in the regular season finale.

With Anthony Edwards struggling offensively, the Timberwolves needed others to step up on Friday. Gobert answered the call, recording a season-high point total and his 35th double-double. He’s scored at least 19 points in five of his last seven outings, providing third-round value in nine-cat formats over the past two weeks. Minnesota needs to win Sunday’s game against the Jazz, and they’re unlikely to have Edwards due to technical foul accumulation. That matchup should be excellent for Gobert due to Utah’s lack of interior depth.

Edwards was whistled for his 18th technical foul of the season during the second quarter of Friday’s game. While the call appeared soft, Ant-Man is subject to a one-game suspension unless the league overturns the call. That knocked Edwards off his stride for the rest of the night as he struggled to get going offensively. The good news for the Timberwolves is that they play the Jazz on Sunday, and that should be an easy matchup with Utah focused on improving its draft lottery odds. But no Edwards, if the technical foul is not overturned, certainly hurts for fantasy managers in active leagues.

Friday’s game will be the second straight Collier has missed with a hamstring injury. The rookie will again be replaced in the starting lineup by Keyonte George, who has a higher fantasy ceiling when allowed to start. George offers a lower ceiling in the assist category than Collier, but he is the superior scorer.

After scoring 29 points on 11-of-25 shooting across his two prior appearances, George exploded in Atlanta. The 35 points were a season-high for the Jazz guard, who has three games of 30 or more to his credit. However, while George has averaged just under 18 points per game over the past two weeks, he’s only shooting 39 percent from the field. Add in the limited defensive production, and George has only been a late-round player in 12-team leagues over the past two weeks.

Collier has reached double digits in assists in two of his last three appearances, with Sunday’s total being one shy of his season-high. While his shooting has been inconsistent, the rookie’s had an excellent season in the assist category. His total of 446 assists is a Jazz rookie record, with John Stockton being the previous record holder with 415. The season’s final three games will be crucial for Collier, who continues to do what he can to show he’s capable of running the team in the future.

Sexton has scored 27 points in two straight games, and the Jazz guard has recorded 20 or more in four of his last five. Over the past two weeks, he is ranked just outside the top 50 in nine-cat formats and has been a top-75 player in eight-cat. For Sexton managers whose leagues run through Week 23, he’ll have solid fantasy value as the Jazz continue to play him starters’ minutes. However, Utah only plays three games next week, starting with the Trail Blazers on Wednesday.

After three straight games of 25 points or more, Randle scored 26 in his last two appearances, shooting a combined 9-of-22 from the field. However, despite the downtick in scoring, he has remained an eighth-round player in nine-cat formats over the past week. Randle has provided solid value in the rebound and assist categories, thus preserving some of his fantasy value. The Timberwolves don’t play again until Tuesday when they visit the Bucks.

Anthony Edwards wasn’t the only Timberwolves scorer taking advantage of frequent mismatches as the 76ers didn’t have an answer for Gobert, either. The veteran center recorded another elite stat line, eclipsing 21 points and 18 rebounds for the second straight games. The “Stifle Tower” also recorded five “stocks.” Over the past two weeks, Gobert has provided top-20 per-game value in eight- and nine-cat formats. Gobert managers whose leagues are not finished are likely happy that he’ll have four games to play during Week 23.

Edwards was outstanding on Saturday, as the undermanned 76ers had no answer for him defensively. The Timberwolves star woke up the Philadelphia crowd early in the first quarter with one of the dunks of the season. And his three-pointer late in the fourth quarter as the shot clock expired sent everyone to the exits. The 37 points are the most for Edwards since March 17, when he scored 38 in a loss to the Pacers. For fantasy managers whose seasons run through Week 23, the Timberwolves play four games, starting with the Bucks on Tuesday.
