George’s absence from Tuesday’s win over the Hawks led to Corey Kispert starting, and he scored 16 points in the first quarter. However, Kispert suffered a fractured right thumb during the third quarter and is out indefinitely. With Tre Johnson (hip) also out indefinitely, Cam Whitmore may be the next man up if George can’t play on Friday.

Kispert fractured the tip of his right thumb during the third quarter of Tuesday’s victory. According to the team, the injury will be treated “conservatively,” so fantasy managers should consider him to be out indefinitely. Despite his hot shooting against the Hawks, Kispert has not been much of an asset in most fantasy leagues. With Tre Johnson and Kyshawn George out, there will be more minutes available to Cam Whitmore. He isn’t a must-add currently, but deep-league managers should keep an eye on Whitmore.

Randle suffered his worst scoring performance of the season on Wednesday. He contributed just a pair of made baskets and only took 13 shots for the third game in a row. The veteran forward also failed to capitalize on his opportunities at the charity stripe before narrowly escaping a single-digit scoring total. Still, Randle was solid as a passer and rebounder, and also logged a few steals on the defensive end to help his overall fantasy production on the evening. He’ll have a chance to get back in rhythm as a scorer on Saturday against the Celtics.

Shannon Jr. poured in his best performance of the season on Wednesday. He needed only 17 minutes of game action to post a season-high in points and nearly reach the 20-point mark. He made all seven of his shot attempts and all three of his three-pointers along the way, but didn’t contribute much in other areas of the game. Still, Shannon Jr. had a nice outing, one that could potentially lead to more opportunities against the Celtics on Saturday.

Edwards followed up a 43-point outing against the Kings with a stellar 30-point performance on Wednesday. He was dialed in from beyond the arc, tallying more threes than any other player who took the floor. Even with poor free-throw shooting, he led the Wolves in scoring and was one of only two Minnesota players to score more than 11 points. Edwards will have an opportunity to extend his streak of 30-point games to four when the Wolves face the Celtics on Saturday.

Middleton didn’t do much scoring on Tuesday, but he was productive in other areas. The 12 assists matched his career high, and he was also responsible for seven rebounds, the most in a game for the veteran forward since October 28. Middleton’s slow start and the Wizards’ prioritization of youth in their rebuild are why he isn’t providing top-200 fantasy value, but he’s worth the risk on a light game night like Tuesday.

Sarr recorded his sixth double-double of the season, with Tuesday’s being the third in which he’s scored at least 20 points. The second-year center has improved significantly after struggling for most of his rookie campaign, doing a better job of handling the NBA’s physicality. Sarr is providing top-40 per-game value in nine-cat formats and has shown no signs of slowing down. Even with the Wizards rebuilding, a late-season shutdown isn’t a concern for Sarr due to his youth.

The Wizards picked up their first NBA Cup victory in three seasons of the event, and they’ve got the tandem of McCollum and Corey Kispert to thank for that. While the latter had the best quarter of his NBA career, scoring 16 points in the first, McCollum was rolling all night. He scored 27 in the first half, and the final point total was four shy of his career-high. While his season-long fantasy value hasn’t been the best, McCollum has been a top-50 player in nine-cat formats over the past week.

Kispert was on a roll to begin Tuesday’s game, scoring 16 points in the first quarter. Unfortunately, he suffered a right thumb injury during the third quarter and has been ruled out for the rest of the night. Edwards dropped 40-plus for the second straight game — his third 40-spot of the year — but it still wasn’t enough to prevent Minnesota from suffering a second straight late-game collapse. The 24-year-old superstar had a look at a go-ahead running jumper in the closing seconds after the Wolves blew a 10-point lead over the final three minutes, but it rimmed out. He launched a season-high 29 shots and was surprisingly efficient from deep, drilling five of 11 threes. He’s been a strong second-round fantasy performer so far, averaging 27.8 points through 13 games. Minnesota will try to steady the ship on Wednesday night against a red-hot Thunder squad.

Johnson missed Saturday’s game with a sore left hip flexor. While the Wizards aren’t putting a timetable on his recovery, 2-4 weeks is the usual timeline for this injury. On a night when Keyonte George (5/3/4/0/2 with one three-pointer) struggled, shooting 2-of-7 from the field, Johnson had a solid outing off the bench. This was the third game in a row that he’s scored at least 25 points, which is a mark he has reached eight times this year. Last season, he only had 12 such games.
