Williamson had to exit Wednesday’s loss to the Pistons prematurely due to illness. His absence from the initial injury report for Friday’s game means that he’ll be ready to take on his usual responsibilities within the Pelicans’ lineup. Micah Peavy and Bryce McGowens will lose out on minutes, especially if Herb Jones (ankle) is available.

For managers seeking players who could potentially offer value during the “silly season,” Peavy may be one of those options. The rookie out of Georgetown scored a season-high 17 points and recorded a complete stat line on Wednesday. While the Pelicans have no reason to tank, as they don’t control their 2026 first-round pick, there may be a desire later in the season to evaluate Peavy further. There’s no need to add him now, but keep the rookie on your radar.

Give the Pistons credit for their work on the defensive end, with Murphy requiring 19 shots from the field to score 17 points. He remains, by a considerable distance, the best fantasy option on the Pelicans’ roster, and that isn’t changing anytime soon. As long as Murphy’s healthy, he’ll provide excellent fantasy value regardless of league format. On Wednesday, he ran into one of the best teams in the NBA.

Bey didn’t have a great night shooting from the field, but he was a perfect 11-of-11 from the foul line. He’s scored 20 points or more in 11 games this season, going from “fantasy afterthought” to someone who needs to be rostered in deep leagues. At a minimum, Bey should remain in the starting lineup as long as the Pelicans remain without Herb Jones (ankle).

Wednesday was a night to forget for Porter and the Nets, who were on the wrong end of a 120-66 outcome. Due to the nature of the game, MPJ played only 26 minutes and didn’t shoot well. He and the Nets will look to redeem themselves on Friday when they host the Celtics.

Due to an illness, Williamson was initially questionable for Wednesday’s game. He started but only played 15 minutes before having to exit for the rest of the night. Williams has reached double figures in four of his last five appearances. However, Monday’s game was his first since January 7, after he missed six games due to illness. In addition to recording a season-high in assists, Mann hit double figures in points for the first time in his last eight appearances. While he did start on Monday, the veteran wing only played 26 minutes. Therein lies the issue for Mann, along with the inconsistent production. Getting the younger players minutes will only become more of a priority for the Nets moving forward, so there isn’t much to gain from rostering Mann.

Claxton is averaging career-highs in points and assists, with the latter category being more surprising. The Nets’ center, who entered Monday averaging 4.1 assists per game, has recorded four or more in six of his last seven appearances. Unfortunately, Claxton has shot 40 percent from the foul line over the past two weeks, which limits his value in roster builds where that category is not being punted.

Porter needed 23 shots to score his 23 points, with three-point shooting being the reason. A 40.5 percent shooter for the season, the Nets forward was 2-of-10 in Monday’s defeat. Porter’s 8-of-13 night from inside the arc ensured that his overall field-goal percentage didn’t take too big of a hit, and the overall stat line was a good one. While fellow rookie Jeremiah Fears (two points, three rebounds, two assists and one block) has hit a rough patch recently, shooting 40.2 percent from the field over the past two weeks, Queen’s production has been consistent. During these two weeks, the rookie center has been close to a top-50 player in eight-cat formats. Williamson’s game does have some flaws: he isn’t a great foul shooter, and turnovers can be an issue. However, when he’s healthy, the Pelicans’ forward can offer solid fantasy value. The Nets snapped a five-game losing streak in Friday’s win over the Bulls but they didn’t fare so well during Sunday night’s rematch with leading scorer Michael Porter Jr. sitting out for load management reasons. Their issues weren’t limited to the offensive end as they allowed Chicago to shoot 52 percent from the floor and surrendered 124 points in a one-sided affair. Traore was one of the few bright spots as he did most of his damage in garbage time, knocking down 4-of-5 from beyond the arc to finish with a season-high 16 points off the bench. Back in the rotation after sitting out Monday’s loss to the Mavericks, Thomas was limited to 24 minutes against the Pelicans. With this being the guard’s contract year, the role has to be frustrating. Fantasy managers can take solace in the assist tally, as Thomas’ five helpers were the most in a game for him since he dished out nine on October 24.
