Castle dropped 32 points on Sunday against the Thunder. He popped up on the injury report as questionable with a thumb injury, but was ruled in hours before game-time Tuesday. Fantasy managers don’t have to worry about Castle’s status for the matchup with the Nets anymore.

Boston has missed the last eight games with an ankle injury. The 23-year-old shooting guard is available Tuesday, but with CJ McCollum back and it being Boston’s first game in some time expectations should be low for Boston.

One day removed from scoring 32 points in a loss to the Thunder, Castle is on the injury report with a sprained left thumb. Julian Champagnie could see an increase in minutes if the rookie cannot play. Due to his third-quarter ejection, Champagnie only played 11 minutes on Sunday.

Did the Pelicans view Olynyk as an excellent fit next to Zion Williamson and Yves Missi when they acquired him from the Raptors? If so, the front office deserves credit for getting him in the Brandon Ingram trade. Olynyk was excellent against the Jazz, scoring 26 points on efficient shooting. With Williamson and Missi on the court, there’s a need for a spacer in the Pelicans frontcourt, and Olynyk fits that role. Olynyk can provide reliable fantasy value as a starter for as long as he’s available.

Williamson still hasn’t reached the point where he’ll be allowed to play both games of back-to-backs, and there’s no need for the Pelicans to change that approach before the end of this season. While availability is an issue, Williamson is an excellent asset to have rostered when he’s on the court. The Jazz didn’t have an answer for him offensively. Since the break, Williamson has been a fifth-round player in eight-cat formats.

After sitting out Friday’s loss to the Suns, McCollum made up for lost time on Sunday. Not only are the 25 points the most he’s scored since the All-Star break, but this was CJ’s first 20-point game since then. With the Thunder focused on the future, fantasy managers will likely need to assume McCollum won’t play both ends of back-to-backs. And New Orleans’ four-game Week 18 concludes with a Saturday/Sunday back-to-back against the Rockets and Grizzlies.

Vassell has scored 15 points or more in consecutive games for the first time in nearly a month. While the fantasy value since the All-Star break has been poor, the Spurs wing has been a 12th-round player over the past week. Vassell’s decreased defensive production has been a factor, but he has recorded a steal and a blocked shot in two straight games. If Vassell can increase the defensive numbers, his fantasy value should improve despite the inconsistent scoring.

A double-digit scorer in three of his last four games, Sochan has emerged as the only Spurs power forward or center worth rostering with Victor Wembanyama done for the season. Since the All-Star break, he has provided 12th-round value in eight- and nine-cat formats. Bismack Biyombo (two points, four rebounds and two assists) only played 18 minutes despite starting, as the Spurs have been willing to employ smaller lineups due to Sochan’s improved play.

Castle was sensational on Sunday, finishing one point shy of his season high. The rookie guard shot over 50 percent from the field against the Thunder and grabbed eight rebounds. The lone negative for Castle was the turnover count, as he was responsible for four, but the positives outweighed that deficiency. He’s scored 22 points or more in three straight games and has been an 11th-round player in eight- and nine-cat formats over the past week. Despite coming off the bench, Castle will play plenty for the rest of the season.

Fox didn’t necessarily have a terrible Sunday night, but fantasy managers likely hoped for a more robust stat line. While he has been a top-50 player since the All-Star break, it’s fair to wonder if having two point guards on the floor for significant stretches limits the fantasy ceilings of Fox and Chris Paul. CP3 played 28 minutes on Sunday, finishing with six points, three rebounds, six assists, one block and two three-pointers. Managers who have Fox rostered should not lose any sleep over his Sunday night, but he boasts a lower fantasy ceiling in this current lineup.

Rostered in 34 percent of Yahoo! leagues, Johnson’s fantasy value has increased slightly since the All-Star break. The Spurs forward has provided 10th-round value in nine-cat formats since the break, approaching the top-100. Johnson finished Saturday’s victory with a complete stat line, the first he’s recorded since January 13. While his improved play is unlikely to push Johnson into the starting lineup, he deserves a longer look in standard leagues with Victor Wembanyama done for the season.

For the third time this season, Castle has scored 20 points or more in consecutive games. And he was efficient in getting his numbers on Saturday, shooting 50 percent from the field and only committing one turnover in his 32 minutes on the court. Rostered in 34 percent of Yahoo! leagues, Castle has provided 12th-round value in eight-cat formats over the past month. The Spurs haven’t pulled the plug on this season, and with good reason, as they’re still looking to empower De’Aaron Fox as the point guard of the future. However, as he’s shown in recent games, Castle won’t need a shift to tanking to provide value.

While Vassell’s shooting has not improved much, as he’s made just 37.7 percent of his attempts over the past week, he’s scored 20 points in two of his last three outings. The culprit for the Spurs wing on Saturday was the three-point line, as Vassell shot 2-of-9. He made 70 percent of his two-point attempts, offsetting a poor run from a distance. Over the past month, Vassell has averaged 1.5 three-pointers per game on 25.7 percent shooting. When well over one-third of your attempts are three-pointers, a cold streak will have a more significant impact.

Despite coming off the bench, Sochan remains the best player to add in the aftermath of Victor Wembanyama’s season-ending injury. Saturday’s double-double was his first since February 7, and Sochan replaced Bismack Biyombo (6/3/1/1/1 in 18 minutes) in the starting lineup to begin the third quarter. While he’s ranked just outside the top 150 in nine-cat formats since the All-Star break, Sochan’s production has been superior to any of the centers used to fill the void since the Spurs lost Wembanyama.

Finishes like Saturday are why the Spurs moved to acquire Fox before the trade deadline. His jumper with 1.8 seconds remaining was the difference in Memphis, as San Antonio pulled out the win despite Jaren Jackson Jr. scoring a season-high 42 points. Over the past three weeks, Fox has provided top-50 value in eight-cat formats. Sharing the court with another point guard, Chris Paul (8/3/8/1 with two three-pointers), has cut into Fox’s fantasy value, but he remains a productive guard to have rostered. The Spurs play three games during Week 18, starting with the Nets on Tuesday.

With Olynyk available after not playing on Thursday, he started while rookie Karlo Matkovic was pushed to the bench. The “Lunch Lady” had a solid night at the office, but this wasn’t the kind of performance that will force many fantasy managers to rush to their computers to add Olynyk. As for Matkovic, he shot 1-of-8 from the field and finished with two points, five rebounds and two assists in 22 minutes. Olynyk’s ROS fantasy value hinges on the Pelicans’ deciding how available he’ll be. If the front office decides to pull the plug on its veterans, Matkovic will be one of the beneficiaries.

Not only was Brown back on the court Friday after sitting out Thursday’s win over the Suns, but he was in the starting lineup for the rematch. While fantasy managers who may have hoped for a standout performance were left unfulfilled, the assists and steals were solid. However, Brown isn’t much more than a deep-league streamer, a disappointing slide for a player who had close to top-100 value while winning a championship with the Nuggets a few seasons ago.

Having the room needed to flourish offensively has been a rare occurrence for Missi this season. However, that wasn’t the case on Friday, as the Pelicans were without CJ McCollum and Zion Williamson. The 14 field goal attempts matched his season-high, and the 24 points are a new high for the rookie center. While Missi has remained in the starting lineup, his fantasy value took a slight hit, with Kelly Olynyk moving into the starting lineup and fellow rookie Karlo Matkovic playing better basketball. However, fantasy managers seeking “silly season” value shouldn’t give up on Missi, as evidenced by his performance against the Suns.

Castle finished Wednesday’s defeat tied for the team-high in points with Keldon Johnson, but the rookie struggled from deep. He shot 1-of-7 from three and is 2-of-16 since the All-Star break. It’s fair to wonder if the busy weekend in San Francisco has been a factor, as Castle was active on all three days (Rising Stars Challenge, Dunk Contest and Sunday’s All-Star tournament). The good news for fantasy managers is that the points, rebounds, assists and steals were solid on Wednesday; only the field-goal percentage was problematic. While the Spurs don’t want to change their approach as the season winds down, Castle will have ample opportunities to “spread his wings” within the system.

After scoring nine points on 4-of-13 shooting in the Spurs’ final two games before the All-Star break, Johnson has reached double figures in five straight. Surpassing the 20-point mark in two outings, including Wednesday’s defeat, he has been a top 100 player in eight-cat formats. With Devin Vassell (nine points, five rebounds, three assists and one three-pointer in 24 minutes) continuing to struggle, it wouldn’t be a terrible idea to consider rostering Johnson in the short term. Biyombo recorded his second double-double in as many games on Tuesday, with the 12 rebounds being a season-high for the veteran center. While he’s been more productive than any of the Spurs’ other available options with Victor Wembanyama done for the season, Biyombo is on his second 10-day contract. Rostered in 15 percent of Yahoo! leagues, he offers superior streaming value to Sandro Mamukelashvili (two points, one rebound, one assist, one steal and one block in 12 minutes) or Charles Bassey, who did not play due to a knee injury. Fantasy managers who have Fox rostered will be pleased with the assists and steals, with the six pilfers matching his career-high (living up to the “Swipa” nickname). Unfortunately, efficiency was a problem, as Fox shot 6-of-21 from the field and committed six turnovers. He has averaged 2.8 turnovers per game since making his Spurs debut, so this category has not been a significant issue for Fox.
