Borrego was 24-46 as interim head coach after taking over for Willie Green, who was fired last November. Prior to that, Borrego was the associate head coach under Green and he previously spent four years as the Hornets head coach, going 138-163 with no playoff appearances. While Borrego will be included in the search for a new Pelicans head coach, he seems like a long shot to land the job. He had plenty of time to make an impression this season and the Pelicans were more than 20 games below .500 on his watch.

Mbeng played all 48 minutes for the second time in his last three games. During this stretch, he averaged 22.3 points, 6.0 rebounds, 7.7 assists and 4.3 steals in 44.7 minutes per game. It has been an impressive run for Mbeng, who signed standard contract last week after playing on two 10-day deals. However, if they do keep him around next season, he won’t play that large of a role.

Tshiebwe was a monster on the glass for a second straight game, but it was his offensive production that was most impressive. He shattered his previous career high of 18 points, which he set during Game 82 last season. Tshiebwe is an incredibly talented rebounder, but he has never gotten the chance to play rotation minutes consistently prior to silly season. That likely won’t change next season, but if it does, he can contribute in fantasy basketball.

A 20-point scorer in two of his last three games, Peavy finished Sunday’s defeat with a new season-high in points. The rookie wing shot 50 percent from the field and recorded a complete stat line, taking advantage of the extended minutes. While Peavy’s redraft league value for next season will remain extremely low due to the Pelicans’ wing depth, he’ll be worth taking a flier on in dynasty leagues.

Queen finished his first NBA season with the first 30/20 game of his pro career. With the Pelicans only playing seven players on Sunday, the rookie center logged 41 minutes in the season finale. Queen recorded a complete stat line against the Timberwolves, making the low field-goal percentage more palatable. Queen certainly had his moments this season, but improvement on the defensive end of the floor is what will unlock his full potential in the years to come.

He has been a strong rebounder in the G League as well, but he hasn’t been a rotation piece for Utah early enough in the season for him to make strong contributions in fantasy hoops outside of silly season.

Hinson got his second start of the season and ended up setting a new career high for scoring. Hinson went undrafted in 2024 out of Pittsburgh, but college career started back in 2018. It has been a long road for Hinson to make his NBA debut, and he has taken advantage of the opportunity. He’s currently on a two-way deal, but he won’t play quite this much next season.

Playing against his former team, Chandler was able to put together another strong performance in his second start of the season. He set a new season high for assists and triples and has now scored in double figures in nine of his 11 appearances this season. Unfortunately, Chandler won’t play in Utah’s final game of the regular season since his 10-day contract expired after this game.

In a return from a one-game absence with a right knee contusion, Bailey was able to stuff the stat sheet and record the first double-double of his career. Bailey has flashed plenty of upside and has continued to develop as the season has progressed. He won’t turn 20 until August and still has so much room for growth. Bailey may be an afterthought when compared to some of the other top rookies in this class, but he is still a valuable option in dynasty leagues.

For the second straight game, Konchar was able to record a triple-double. This was also the fifth straight game that he swiped at least two steals, and he has 22 steals during this stretch. Konchar got a fresh start with Utah after the trade deadline and has had a strong finish to the season. He should continue to be a rotation piece for them next season, but he won’t play enough to make a contribution for fantasy managers.

Mbeng signed a two-year deal with the Jazz last week, and after being a rotation piece for a few weeks, he has played big minutes over their last two games. He played well as a starter on Tuesday, and he was even better as a reserve in this game. He was one of three players to record a triple-double in this game, including two off the bench for Utah. Mbeng went undrafted after playing four years at Yale and is perhaps playing himself into a lengthy career.

Fears wasn’t much of a factor in redraft leagues this season, but is still a coveted dynasty asset. He could be in line for another big game against the Timberwolves in the season finale on Sunday.

The rookie guard was on the floor for all 48 minutes, and he finished with season-highs in points and steals. Given where the Jazz are in the standings, Mbeng will play plenty in Utah’s final two games. And those are two more opportunities to show that he deserves a longer look from the Jazz in the summer.

While Williams’s offensive output has been inconsistent recently, the Jazz are likely pleased with his overall production since March 1. Since that date, the second-year forward has averaged 15.5 points per game on 48.5 percent shooting from the field. Williams’ category league value has remained low, but the improved scoring is a positive development. And with the Jazz rotation projected to be considerably stronger in 2026-27, a good finish to this season is essential for Williams.

Chandler came off the bench on Tuesday but still logged 43 minutes. His second 10-day contract runs through the penultimate day of the regular season, so he’ll have to be moved to a standard deal to be eligible for Utah’s April 12 finale. Against the Pelicans, the 2022 second-round pick had the best game of his NBA career. Not only did Chandler establish a new career-high with the 31 points, but this was his first game with at least 20.

Recording his 12th double-double of the season, Queen finished Tuesday’s victory three assists shy of his third triple-double. And much to the delight of the Pelicans, the rookie center enjoyed one of his most impactful games as a defender. More active on that end of the floor, Queen recorded three steals and two blocked shots. Having veteran Kevon Looney (7/12/6/2/1 with one three-pointer) on the floor likely helped, but that should not be used to take away from Queen’s performance.

The rookie guard took full advantage, as he set the Pelicans franchise rookie record for points in a game. And this wasn’t an inefficient 40, either. Fears shot over 50 percent from the field and committed just two turnovers. He was 1-of-7 from beyond the arc, but that’s the only negative to take away from the rookie’s performance.

And he was at his best during the third quarter, with the veteran guard going off for 22 points in the frame. Poole finished with a complete stat line, providing excellent value to the few in active leagues brave enough to stream him. If the Pelicans remain as shorthanded as they were on Tuesday, Poole could put up some big numbers in the team’s final two games of the season.

Friday’s 34-point defeat was nothing to celebrate for the Jazz, but Bailey’s continued production to close the regular season could serve as a bright spot. In 33 minutes, the rookie forward impressed as a scorer, shooting above 50.0 percent from the floor to finish as one of three Jazz players with at least 20 points.
