Johnson’s meteoric rise continues as he steps into an expanded role for the Hawks from a facilitating and scoring standpoint with Trae Young no longer in the picture following his trade to Washington earlier this week. The 24-year-old snapped out of a brief cold spell in this one, finishing just shy of his eighth 30-point outing of the season while drilling a season-high five three-pointers and shooting a blistering 67 percent from the floor. He’ll be the straw that stirs the drink for Atlanta until further notice.

Alexander-Walker has been a home run signing for the Hawks, delivering the strongest season of his career, averaging a robust 20.5 points, 3.6 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 1.1 steals and 0.6 blocks through 38 games. He’s averaging just over three three-pointers per-game after sitting at just 1.7 last year. The 27-year-old guard figures to play a larger role in Atlanta’s offense with Trae Young no longer in the picture.

Towns recorded another double-double on Friday, but the impact was muted. Not only did he fail to record any defensive stats, but the 7-footer was responsible for a team-high five turnovers. The Knicks’ current run of five losses in six games has been discouraging for all involved, most especially Towns and those who have him rostered. Over the past two weeks, KAT has been a sixth-round player in nine-cat formats.

Once again, McBride got off to a good start, scoring 12 points in the first quarter of Friday’s game. Unfortunately, he didn’t offer much value offensively in the final three periods, but the final stat line was solid. Over the past two weeks, McBride has been close to a top-50 player in nine-cat formats. He’s worth rostering in deep leagues until Josh Hart returns from his high ankle sprain, and that could happen during the Knicks’ current four-game road trip.

Brunson and the Knicks have lost five of their last six, and he has just one 30-point game during this stretch. While his percentages against the Suns were good, the point guard finished with one less turnover (four) than assists (five). Over the past two weeks, he has offered fourth-round per-game value in eight-cat formats. While that doesn’t align with Brunson’s Yahoo! ADP, his drop has not been as sharp as a few other Knicks during this 1-5 stretch.

Porzingis popped up on the injury report Friday afternoon and was subsequently ruled out with an Achilles injury. The 30-year-old power forward hasn’t exactly been the pinnacle of health in recent years so there’s reason for legitimate concern surrounding the injury. Based on the most recent timeline provided by the team, with the wing set to be re-evaluated on Friday, there may be a chance he plays during New York’s four-game road trip. It has been a disappointing second season for Risacher, but after figuring out some offense against Toronto on Monday, he was able to set a new season high for scoring in Wednesday’s win. It’s no coincidence that he also played a season-high 34 minutes. Hawks coach Quin Snyder hasn’t played the 2024 No. 1 overall pick as much as his other starters, but if he continues to play this well, he should continue to get the chance, which will lead to more production. At this point, he is only worth rostering in dynasty leagues.

Playing against his former team, Daniels was able to put together a stellar, well-rounded line in the win. He’s had some excellent performances recently, and he continues to be at his best when Trae Young isn’t in the lineup. Of course, that won’t be an issue moving forward with Young now in Washington. Daniels should continue to be a strong producer for fantasy managers, even if the steals aren’t where they were last season.

McBride has reached double figures in all six games he’s played since returning from a sprained ankle, and he replaced Mitchell Robinson in the starting lineup on Wednesday. Anunoby only needed ten official shots from the field to record his first 20-point game in six outings. In fact, since the NBA Cup, he has only recorded two 20-point games. Anunoby doesn’t have to be a prolific scorer to offer excellent fantasy value, but being consistently involved in the offense does raise his ceiling. Despite shooting less than 43 percent from the field, Anunoby has been close to a top-50 player over the past two weeks.

To say that Towns wasn’t thrilled with only attempting four shots in Monday’s 31-point loss to the Pistons would be an understatement; some may even interpret his comments after Wednesday’s victory to be passive-aggressive. What matters is that KAT was more heavily involved in the offense, and while he didn’t produce a good field-goal percentage, the overall stat line was more in line with what he should do consistently. The Knicks hit the road for their next four, beginning on Friday in Phoenix.

After arguably his most inefficient game of the season in Monday’s blowout loss to the Pistons, Brunson bounced back nicely against the Clippers. In addition to shooting 75 percent from the field, the Knicks’ guard committed just two turnovers. All five starters attempted at least ten shots, and Brunson still led the way in scoring. Wednesday’s effort was the blueprint that the Knicks need to follow, even if that leads to a slight decrease in Brunson’s scoring output.

McCollum is on an expiring contract, and while the Hawks may have interest in keeping him around past this season, his main function in this deal was to help the salaries match up. McCollum’s time with the Wizards lasted 35 games, and he was able to show he’s still a talented scorer. He’ll be a reliable veteran for Atlanta, likely as a reserve. He won’t be as impactful for fantasy managers as he was as a Wizard, but he should be able to help offset some of the offense that the Hawks lose by moving on from Trae.

Surprisingly, no draft capital was included in the deal that ends Young’s time in Atlanta. Kispert is one of the two players headed in the opposite direction, and his addition gives the Hawks another perimeter shooter to place around Jalen Johnson if he can crack the rotation. For his career, he’s averaging 2.0 three-pointers per game on 38.3 percent shooting from beyond the arc. At best, Kispert will be a specialist who may offer deep-league value. However, this is not a deal that moves the needle for him, fantasy-wise.

Okongwu had one of his worst game of the season in Toronto on Saturday, but he was able to respond with a much better performance, though the result of the game was the same. As an undersized center, Okongwu hasn’t been a great rebounder this year, so this was only his ninth double-double of the season.
