This isn’t exactly a revelation to those who closely followed Brown throughout the season. It was obvious the 28-year-old small forward was playing through some knee pain for the last month of the regular season and playoffs. The Celtics star had received multiple injections in his knee to deal with the pain. Brown will be evaluated in the coming week to determine if surgery is needed. Depending on the course of action on Brown’s knee, the Celtics could be down another star with Jayson Tatum already having had surgery to repair a torn Achilles.

Between the hamstring injury that sidelined him for the final three games of the first round and his inconsistent production when available, this was a disappointing postseason for Holiday. Friday’s performance was his worst, with the veteran guard shooting 12.5 percent from the field. Unfortunately, Holiday’s 2024-25 season was underwhelming regarding fantasy value, as he finished outside the top-100 for the first time since his rookie season (2009-10). Holiday’s fantasy prospects next season will be impacted by Jayson Tatum (Achilles) likely missing a significant amount of time, but that may also mean an expanded role for Payton Pritchard. Pritchard finished Friday’s loss with 11 points, two rebounds, four assists and one three-pointer in 28 minutes.

After going off for 34 points in a valiant Game 5 performance on Wednesday, White could not find his groove on Friday. He shot 2-of-8 from beyond the arc and provided limited value as a playmaker in Boston’s season finale. After a surprisingly elite fantasy season in the Celtics’ run to the championship last season, White was a top-50 player in 2024-25. That aligned with his Yahoo! ADP (48), which may be a bit higher next season due to Jayson Tatum’s ruptured Achilles tendon.

After being unable to play during the second half of Game 5 due to having trouble breathing, Porzingis was used in a reserve role in Game 6. The Celtics forward/center could not provide much value in that role, and replacement Luke Kornet (5/5/1/0/1 in 21 minutes) also struggled on Friday. Most important for Porzingis this offseason is to address the illness that impacted him throughout the postseason. A healthy Porzingis can be an excellent fantasy asset, especially with Jayson Tatum (Achilles) likely missing most of the 2025-26 season.

While Horford shot the ball reasonably well in Game 6, the veteran center’s impact was muted as Boston lost by 38 points. Horford reached double figures in three of the series’ final four games, providing increased value with Kristaps Porzingis battling an unspecified illness. However, it wasn’t enough to give Boston a shot at winning the series, especially after losing Jayson Tatum to a ruptured Achilles tendon. Horford, who failed to crack the top-100 in fantasy value, will be a free agent this summer. How the front office views the roster after Tatum’s injury will be one of the major offseason storylines in the NBA.

As good as Brown was in Game 5, he could not drum up a similar performance in Friday’s series finale. He committed seven turnovers, and with Jayson Tatum (Achilles) out, the Celtics could not afford to sit Brown despite his foul trouble. As a result, he was disqualified with about three minutes remaining in the third quarter. From a fantasy standpoint, Brown’s 2024-25 production did not align with his Yahoo! ADP (40), as he was only a top-75 player in eight-cat formats. Depending on what the Celtics’ front office does this offseason, with Tatum likely to miss most of the 2025-26 season, Brown’s ADP will likely be inflated next fall.

Hart, who recorded a double-double in Game 1, finished Friday’s victory with his first triple-double of these playoffs. While the Celtics were willing to live with him taking shots throughout the series, the Knicks wing was not consistently impactful as a secondary playmaker. That wasn’t the case in Game 6, with Hart hitting double digits in assists and committing just two turnovers. Also, the triple-double was the first by a Knick in the postseason since Walt Frazier in 1972. Hart will likely encounter a similar defensive approach in the conference finals, where he’s given freedom to shoot, with the Knicks taking on the Pacers. Game 1 is on Wednesday.

After shooting 4-of-14 from the field in Wednesday’s Game 5 blowout defeat, Bridges needed to bounce back, as did many of his teammates. The Knicks wing got the job done in Game 6, shooting well over 50 percent from the field and recording a complete stat line. While there has been the occasional hiccup, Bridges has repeatedly reminded fans during this playoff run why the Knicks paid a high price to acquire him last summer. On Wednesday, the Knicks host the Pacers in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals.

Anunoby recorded a complete stat line in Friday’s series clincher, emblematic of his impact on both ends of the floor. The four “stocks” were the most he’s recorded in a game since Game 4, when the Knicks wing tallied four steals and one blocked shot. Offensively, Anunoby’s point total was his highest since Game 1, when he scored 29 in the Knicks’ comeback victory. Advancing to the Eastern Conference Finals for the first time since 2000, New York will host Indiana in Game 1 on Wednesday.

While Towns only shot 40 percent from the field in Game 6, the shot volume was of greater importance to the Knicks. His 20 attempts were the most for KAT in a game this series, which helped open things up for New York’s other expected scorers. Towns was one of six Knicks to reach double figures, with four scoring at least 21 points. Towns will be matched with another face-up center in Indiana’s Myles Turner in the Eastern Conference Finals, which begin on Wednesday. That matchup will significantly impact the outcome of the series.

Limited to 7-of-17 shooting in New York’s blowout loss to the Celtics in Game 5, Brunson was far more efficient in Friday’s series clincher. Jaylen Brown did not defend Brunson as often as on Wednesday, with the Celtics’ wing’s foul trouble likely being a factor. New York began to extend its lead late in the first quarter and put the game out of reach in the second, outscoring the Celtics by a 38-17 margin. Things didn’t start off well for Hart. He got hit right above his eye on an elbow from Luke Kornet, which resulted in a lot of blood on his face and uniform. He got cleaned up and was given a new jersey, and it didn’t impact his shot. It wasn’t enough for New York to wrap up the series, and they’ll head home for Game 6 on Friday. This was Hart’s highest-scoring performance of the postseason, and his most points in a game since before the All-Star break. It has been a hit-or-miss series for Anunoby. He had 29 points in Game 1 and 20 points in Game 4. He scored a total of 13 points in Games 2, 3 and 5. Which Anunoby shows up in Game 6 could be critical for New York’s chances of closing this series out at home. Of course, they’d much prefer to end things in New York than to have to travel back to Boston for Game 7. Simply put, Anunoby is going to have to be much better on Friday.

Karl-Anthony Towns found himself in foul trouble in the first half, which opened the door for Robinson to take on more minutes early in this game. Robinson has been effective, which is why the Celtics have turned to the Hack-a-Mitch method to try and get him out of the game. Well, it doesn’t work when he turns into Steve Nash. Brown is the other All-NBA player on the roster, and with Jayson Tatum (Achilles) done for the season, Boston needed to turn to Brown. He took advantage and was fantastic as both a scorer and a facilitator. Tatum had been Boston’s leader in assists in both the regular season and the playoffs, which is an underrated aspect of his game that the Celtics will miss. If Brown continues to dominate on offense like he did in this game Boston, will have a legitimate chance to win this series, even without Tatum.

Kristaps Porzingis got the starting nod in place of Jayson Tatum (Achilles), but Kornet replaced him to start the second half. Porzingis didn’t end up seeing the floor after the break, while Kornet played a significant role in helping Boston take over the game. Porzingis has struggled mightily during this series, and there were reports that he is having stamina issues. After the game, head coach Joe Mazzulla was asked about benching Porzingis and said, “He couldn’t breathe. He was available if absolutely necessary.” Porzingis only had one point, one rebound and one block in 12 minutes on Wednesday. It’s unclear if Kornet will start in Game 6 on Friday, but he has clearly at least earned more playing time.

In the wake of Jayson Tatum’s Achilles tear, Boston needed someone to step up on the offensive end. White filled the void with his highest-scoring performance of the postseason and his most points in a game since early March. White struggled in the first two games of this series but has made at least 50 percent of his shots in each of his last three games. He has been able to fill whatever role the Celtics have needed him to fill since he was traded to Boston, and he should continue to be a primary scoring option for them as they head to New York for Game 6.

Tatum was injured during the fourth quarter of Monday’s Game 4 loss to the Knicks, with his leg giving out as he attempted to corral a loose ball. The Celtics star could not put any weight on his leg while being helped to the locker room, and the worst fears have officially been realized. Not only will Tatum miss the remainder of this playoff series, which Boston trails 3-1, but he’ll likely miss most of the 2025-26 season. Tatum was playing a whale of a game before going down with what appeared to be a non-contact lower body injury in the final minutes. The 27-year-old small forward had given the Celtics everything they needed up to that point as he kept them in the game with his fifth career 40-point playoff performance. While specifics have yet to come out about Tatum’s injury, Celtics coach Joe Mazzulla told reporters that he’ll undergo an MRI on Tuesday. It’s safe to say it was a significant injury given Tatum’s anxious reaction and that he was carried off the floor by trainers before taking a wheelchair to the locker room. The Celtics are now down 3-1 in the series and with Tatum unlikely to make it back before a possible Game 7, a potential comeback has become that much more difficult.

14 of Bridges’ 23 points came in the second half of one of the biggest Knicks playoff wins in decades. The 28-year-old small forward was his usual active self on the defensive end with four steals and a block. Still, his offensive contributions were potentially even more important, especially with so many of his points coming in the second half and when Jalen Brunson took a rest at the start of the fourth quarter. While Hauser was listed as questionable for Game 4 with an ankle injury, he hasn’t seen any game action since leaving early in Game 1 of the series. Brunson bounced back from 17 points in Game 2 to put up 27 points in Game 3. The 28-year-old point guard’s best utility is his ability to score difficult points in the fourth quarter of close games. Brown didn’t have his best game with 19 points on 18 shots, but in a game where the Celtics needed his scoring they’ll take that even if he got there on volume rather than efficiency. One of the adjustments that was on the table for the Celtics entering Game 3 was to give Pritchard more minutes, which is exactly what they did. Kristaps Porzingis is clearly at less than 100 percent while dealing with an illness and only saw 19 minutes in Game 3 while Pritchard played 34 minutes, which is the most he’s played in any game this series. The Celtics adjusted by playing Pritchard more, but didn’t back down at the three-point line as they hoisted 40 shots from downtown. After an illness limited him to 13 first-half minutes in Boston’s series-opening defeat on Monday, Porzingis came off the bench in Game 2. Unfortunately, he could only give the Celtics 14 minutes. Following the game, Porzingis said his current problem may be related to the upper respiratory ailment that sidelined him for eight games late in the regular season. “Probably, probably,” Porzingis said. “I’ve had like ups and downs throughout until this point. Just now, had a big crash. Now, my energy, my everything, hasn’t been good, but who cares?
