The Knicks were 19-0 when leading entering the fourth quarter entering play Wednesday. New York couldn’t hold a nine-point lead against the Spurs, losing 134-132. The Knicks return home Friday for the first game of a back-to-back against the Hawks.

Tyson continues to be a strong option for Cleveland, and with De’Andre Hunter sidelined with an illness for this game, he was able to lead the Cavs in bench scoring. He was joined by Sam Merrill (16 points) in making a large impact for Cleveland as a reserve. Mobley’s first few games since returning from a calf injury have been rough, but this one was strong. He had his first double-double since his return in his second game back in the starting lineup and was one of three Cavs to record a double-double in this game. Mobley also matched his season high for blocks in the win. It has been a subpar stretch for Cleveland, but if Mobley continues to play like this, they’ll rise back up the standings.

Brunson finished with his fifth double-double of the season and first since December 2. And, as usual, “Captain Clutch” came up big for the Knicks down the stretch. After a first quarter in which he missed all four of his shot attempts, Anunoby flipped a switch in the second. He shot 5-of-7 from the field, with all five makes occurring in the restricted area, and scored 16 points in the period. While the overall field-goal percentage wasn’t good, Anunoby’s overall stat line was one that many fantasy managers will take. With Josh Hart unavailable due to a sprained ankle, Diawara made his second consecutive start on Monday. And the rookie took full advantage of the opportunity, hitting four three-pointers and scoring 16 points in the first half. Anunoby may not have shot the ball as well as he’s capable of, but he came up with some huge plays in crunch time to salvage the victory. After rebounding a Jalen Brunson miss and making two free throws with 29.6 seconds remaining to give New York a one-point lead, his steal of a Trae Young pass on the ensuing possession led to two more free throws. Counting Saturday’s performance, Brunson has scored at least 34 points in three straight games. The Hawks struggled to find an answer for the Knicks’ point guard, but they aren’t the first time (or the last) to have that happen. For the first time in over a month, Towns has recorded a double-double in three straight games. Mobley only played 20 minutes on Saturday, a byproduct of the Cavaliers getting run out of the gym. However, he did start the second half, replacing Dean Wade (6/3/1/1 with two three-pointers in 18 minutes). Whether that means Mobley will be back in the lineup to begin Week 11 in San Antonio remains to be seen, and there’s also the minutes restriction to consider. Cleveland’s starting backcourt struggled on Saturday, as Mitchell struggled with his shot and Darius Garland (12 points, one assist and two three-pointers) only recorded one assist. Tyson’s performance in Houston may have been the lone bright spot for the Cavaliers, who only made the final score somewhat respectable due to both teams’ reserves playing most of the fourth quarter. The second-year wing recorded his fourth double-double of the season, with the 15 rebounds being a career-high. With Sam Merrill (13/3/3/1 with three three-pointers) back, Tyson appears to be locked into a reserve role. However, his production has made it challenging for fantasy managers to move on from him. Since returning to the bench in favor of Sam Merrill, Tyson’s productivity has actually increased. Following an 18-point effort on Tuesday, he tallied another 16 on Thursday to go along with six rebounds and two three-pointers. Tyson’s fantasy ceiling has decreased somewhat with the move to the bench, but he’s still worth holding onto in deep leagues until Max Strus is healthy enough to play. As much as Christmas Day games focus on name-brand stars, the Knicks’ bench was the difference in Thursday’s victory. Clarkson and Tyler Kolek spearheaded an 18-0 second-quarter run that erased a terrible start, and both made key plays during the second half to complete the rally. Clarkson’s 25 points are a season-high, and he’s reached double figures in four of his last five games. Brusnon and the Knicks got off to a brutally slow start on Christmas Day, making just two of their first 15 shot attempts.
