Hart returned from a one-game absence Friday against the Pistons only to suffer a sprained ankle in the 38-point drubbing at the hands of Detroit. The 30-year-old shooting guard is questionable for Sunday’s game against the Celtics and the Knicks could be severely short-handed with Karl-Anthony Towns (eye) and OG Anunoby (toe) also on the injury report.

Anunoby had a 20/8/4 line in Wednesday’s win over the Nuggets, but somewhere along the way he injured his toe. The 28-year-old small forward was initially probable for Friday’s game in Detroit, but was downgraded to questionable before being ruled out. The Knicks promptly lost by 38 points without him. Mohamed Diawara would likely start if Anunoby is ruled out again, but the game against the Celtics could also get out of hand if the Knicks are missing multiple starters again.

Avdija did not play in Friday’s win over the Grizzlies, but he did practice the day prior. If the Trail Blazers’ All-Star playmaker can return for Saturday’s rematch, he could slide into the spot that Shaedon Sharpe occupied. Sharpe is out after leaving Friday’s game with a sore left calf.

Henderson made his season debut on Friday and came off the bench to log 21 minutes and nearly notch a double-double. The long-awaited return came with plenty of ups and downs. Henderson shot poorly from beyond the arc but was aggressive and had enough shooting volume to score in double figures. And while he led the team in assists, he also totaled five turnovers. Henderson will need time to work off the rust, but coming out of his first game healthily is an encouraging sign.

Holiday was productive in his 25 minutes. He shot the ball well and made great use of the charity stripe en route to finishing as one of two Trail Blazers to score at least 20 points. Not to be forgotten, the veteran guard was one of Portland’s most impactful passers, and he’s likely to continue doing so in his current role. Holiday will have a chance to land another productive performance against the Grizzlies again on Saturday, should he be available on the second game of a back-to-back.

Grant got the start for the injured Deni Avdija (back) and didn’t disappoint. In 28 minutes, the veteran forward scored well both in and outside the arc, ultimately finishing as Portland’s leading scorer on the evening. Since his January return, he’s scored at least 15 points in six of his nine appearances. Grant doesn’t offer much value in other fantasy basketball categories. But for those fantasy managers in need of points and three-pointers, he’s a fine streaming option.

Hart was back in the Knicks’ lineup after sitting out Wednesday’s win over the Nuggets, and he may have aggravated the ankle injury that was the reason for his absence. The Knicks’ wing pulled up while dribbling down the court during the third quarter and would exit shortly thereafter. There was no announcement regarding his status for the rest of the night, but Hart never returned to the bench after going back to the locker room. New York ends its Week 16 in Boston on Sunday.

Brunson had a brutal night in Detroit. Finding room to get his shots proved extremely difficult with OG Anunoby and Karl-Anthony Towns unavailable, as the Pistons devoted even more of their defensive attention to the point guard. Brunson missed all eight of his three-point attempts and did not play at all during the fourth quarter. Fantasy managers will hope to get a better effort from Brunson on Sunday against the Celtics.

Alvarado will provide some extra depth in the backcourt for New York, meaning he’ll join Miles McBride, Tyler Kolek and Jordan Clarkson in the rotation. The Knicks have added to their backcourt, taking a chance on a 2022 first-round pick who will be a free agent in the summer. Terry could never carve out a consistent role for himself in Chicago, and he’s unlikely to find that in New York. It should be noted that Miles McBride has missed the last four games due to a left ankle injury, and there’s concern that he could be out for an extended period. The Suns began Tuesday’s game playing drop coverage, and Clingan was ready to make them pay. With the game just over two minutes old, the second-year center had already knocked down three three-pointers. Clingan would have his double-double by halftime, but the Suns made the proper defensive adjustments and kept him under wraps for most of the night after that early outburst.
