Hart played 22 minutes before exiting Tuesday’s game with a left ankle injury, finishing with four points, seven rebounds, seven assists and one three-pointer. The Knicks held a 36-point lead when it was announced that Hart wouldn’t return, so there was no need to risk anything. The hope is that he’ll be able to play on Wednesday against the Nuggets. If Hart can’t go, Landry Shamet (14 points, one assist and four three-pointers in 21 minutes) is a candidate to move into the starting lineup.

Towns has recorded double-doubles in three straight and four of his last five appearances. The unfortunate aspect of Tuesday’s game for fantasy managers was that KAT played only 26 minutes, as the Knicks removed any doubt about the outcome earlier. Brunson made just one of his six three-point attempts on the night, but that’s the only complaint for fantasy managers. Over the past two weeks, he’s shot 42.6 percent from the field, which has lowered the Knicks’ point guard’s fantasy value. That said, the overall productivity remains excellent. Brunson and the Knicks play three more games in Week 16, starting with the Nuggets on Wednesday.

With Miles McBride missing the last three games with an ankle injury, the Knicks have called Shamet’s name more often. After totaling 14 points in his prior three games, the 6-foot-4 wing answered the call in a big way on Sunday. Shamet matched his season-high with six three-pointers, and the 23 points were the most in a game for him since dropping 36 in a November 14 win over the Heat. While he isn’t in a place where he has to be rostered in deep leagues, Shamet is capable of getting hot as he did on Sunday.

Brunson didn’t shoot the ball well, but he didn’t let that stop him from stepping up in other areas. The 13 assists were a season high, and he was also effective on the glass. Over the past two weeks, Brunson has shot 41.5 percent from the field. However, his value has not taken a significant hit, with the guard still offering top-50 per-game value. Hart isn’t relied on for his scoring prowess, but the Knicks’ forward has been on a roll recently. Including Sunday, he’s recorded three consecutive 20-point games for the first time this season. And Hart’s production against the Lakers was needed, as stars Jalen Brunson and Karl-Anthony Towns combined to score 23 points on 9-of-26 shooting. Raynaud moved into the starting lineup on Sunday due to Domantas Sabonis (back) not being available. The rookie center was solid, filling the stat sheet with a modest line. Given where the Kings are in the standings, Raynaud and fellow rookie Dylan Cardwell (five points, two rebounds and three blocks in 20 minutes) should not lack opportunities between now and the end of the regular season. And that may be the case even if the Kings don’t move Sabonis at the trade deadline.

DeRozan’s name has been mentioned in recent rumors as a player the Kings may look to move ahead of Thursday’s trade deadline. Sunday’s performance was a nice audition for the veteran wing, who rebounded nicely from a poor showing in Friday’s blowout loss to the Celtics. And if DeRozan remains in Sacramento past the deadline, how much will he play, especially with the Kings needing to get Nique Clifford (6/3/4/2) more opportunities and adding De’Andre Hunter to the mix via Saturday’s trade with the Cavaliers and Bulls? The Kings play three games in Week 16.

After totaling 34 points in his first two games back from injury, LaVine surpassed that number on Sunday. Given the matchup, with the Wizards having the youngest team in the NBA and also headed for the draft lottery, it’s unsurprising that he had a big night. However, with the trade deadline on the horizon, it’s worth questioning what LaVine’s future will be. The size of his contract may make it difficult for the Kings to find a trade partner, and if he doesn’t get moved, how much will he play after the deadline? Sacramento plays three games in Week 16, two of which are after Thursday’s trade deadline.

In a three-team trade with the Cavaliers and Bulls, the Kings bid farewell to Dennis Schröder, Keon Ellis and Dario Šarić while adding De’Andre Hunter. Saturday’s trade was a three-team affair, with the Bulls receiving Dario Sarić and two second-round picks. As for Hunter, a trade made last February that was meant to bolster the Cavaliers’ bench offered mixed results. After averaging 19.0 points per game in 37 appearances for the Hawks to begin the 2024-25 season, his scoring decreased by nearly five points in Cleveland. Schröder started on Thursday and had arguably his best game of the season with Russell Westbrook (foot) sidelined. He started again in this one, and, to put it mildly, the results were not as good. Schröder set a season high for scoring on Thursday, but follow it up by scoring four points for the second time in his last three games.
