Earlier Friday, it was announced that LaMelo Ball (wrist, ankle) is out for the rest of the season. Simpson will replace him in the starting lineup, and the two-way rookie is eligible for every game the rest of the way. He’ll likely retain the role for the foreseeable future, with Damion Baugh potentially getting a few opportunities when he’s active. Baugh is inactive for Friday’s game.

Caruso and Williams exited Thursday’s win over the Grizzlies prematurely, and these injuries have been an issue in the past. With Aaron Wiggins (Achilles) out, there would be more playing time available to Kenrich Williams and Isaiah Joe if Caruso and JayWill do not play. Joe offers a higher fantasy ceiling than Kenrich due to his three-point shooting.

Charania says the procedures will be minor, but Ball will not play again this season. With the Hornets eliminated from postseason contention and LaMelo having played through those issues, it’s unsurprising that he’ll be shut down. Damion Baugh and KJ Simpson will play more down the stretch, with Baugh offering greater potential for managers needing scoring at the point guard position.

Hartenstein has had at least 10 rebounds in six-straight games and has recorded a double-double in five of those games, including Thursday night against the Grizzlies. The 26-year-old center’s 18 points came on just nine field goal attempts as he was able to get to the foul line eight times and make all of his free throws. Hartenstein’s high scoring game overlapped with Chet Holmgren struggling with just four points of his own. Hartenstein even managed to play more minutes than Holmgren. While we can’t expect that to happen regularly, fantasy managers will take it. Hartenstein has still managed to provide good fantasy value since Holmgren returned to action after missing the beginning of the season.

Williams has now scored at least 20 points in eight of his last nine games played. The 23-year-old small forward was efficient on his 12 shots, including one made three-pointer, and made 7-of-8 free throws in his 29 minutes. Williams looked like himself in his first action since missing seven games with a strained right hip. Gilgeous-Alexander’s incredible season continued Thursday as he scored at least 20 points for the 66th game in a row. The 26-year-old point guard is in the middle of an MVP season. He missed both of his three-point attempts against the Grizzlies but was otherwise excellent as he poured in 37 points on 25 shots and dished out six assists. The only potential drawback for SGA’s fantasy managers would be if the Thunder elect to rest him down the stretch once they clinch the No. 1 seed in the West.

Williams, who has missed Oklahoma City’s last seven games with a strained right hip, remains questionable for Thursday’s game against the Grizzlies. While head coach Mark Daigneault did not settle on one specific replacement in the starting lineup while J-Dub was out, Kenrich Williams was the most recent fill-in, playing 28 minutes in Tuesday’s win over the Kings. While Williams has missed Oklahoma City’s last seven games, Wallace was held out of Tuesday’s win over the Kings. Who replaces J-Dub in the starting lineup has varied, with matchups factoring into Thunder head coach Mark Daigneault’s decision. The absences of Jalen Williams and Aaron Wiggins did not lead to Joe moving into the starting lineup, but his minutes did increase. He took advantage of the opportunity, hitting four three-pointers and recording solid assist and steals numbers. Alex Caruso also had a good night, finishing with 15 points, five rebounds, six assists, two blocks and two three-pointers in 23 minutes. Back in the Thunder lineup after a one-game absence, Holmgren recorded his ninth double-double of the season on Tuesday.
