Ball last appeared in a game on February 28. Unlike the last two games, when the Bulls initially listed him as questionable, Lonzo is “out” on the injury report for Tuesday. With Coby White ruled out and Josh Giddey questionable, the Bulls could be severely shorthanded regarding on-ball playmakers. Talen Horton-Tucker is the player to watch, as he could figure prominently in the rotation if Giddey does not play.

With Coby White and Kevin Huerter already out, Chicago could be without four starters for Tuesday’s game. Vucevic’s potential absence would impact Zach Collins and Jalen Smith, as both would see their minutes increase. Giddey’s not playing would likely lead to more playing time for Talen Horton-Tucker, who would be worth streaming in deep leagues.

While White’s absence is due to rest, Huerter will not play on Tuesday because of a cervical strain. The absences open up two spaces within the Bulls’ starting lineup, with Patrick Williams, Dalen Terry and Talen Horton-Tucker among the potential replacements. However, in Williams’ case, he has yet to start alongside Matas Buzelis, so that’s unlikely.

Williams had a rough afternoon, shooting 3-of-10 from inside the arc. The positive for those who have J-Dub rostered is that he did not add to that issue by turning the ball over, as he did not commit any turnovers. Given where the Thunder are in the standings, ensuring their key players are healthy for the postseason is more important than putting up gaudy stat lines. Oklahoma City’s four-game Week 23 includes a back-to-back, so Williams managers in active leagues may only have him for three games.

The Lakers had an excellent defensive game plan for Sunday’s game, using a variety of looks to limit the Thunder to 99 points. They also successfully defended Gilgeous-Alexander without fouling, as he failed to attempt a free throw in a game for the first time this season. SGA still shot over 50 percent from the field and recorded solid point and assist numbers, so all wasn’t lost for those with the MVP favorite on their rosters. Oklahoma City plays four games during the final week of the regular season, starting with the Lakers on Tuesday.

From a fantasy standpoint, few backcourts have been as hot as Chicago’s tandem of Giddey and Coby White since the All-Star break. Finishing Sunday’s win two assists shy of a triple-double, Giddey has been a top-10 player in eight- and nine-cat formats since Chicago’s first post-break game on February 20. For those whose fantasy leagues run through Week 23, the Bulls play four games, starting with the Cavaliers on Tuesday.

White has been on an absolute tear since the All-Star break, averaging 26.1 points per game while shooting 50.2 percent from the field and 90.4 percent from the foul line. With his production across the board, White has offered top-25 value in eight- and nine-cat formats. The Bulls are locked into the play-in tournament, but the season’s final four games will be about improving their seeding. For White managers whose leagues will be active during Week 23, that should ensure them of a full slate for the Bulls’ guard.

Terry returned from a one-game absence with a calf injury on Friday, but that isn’t the ailment that has him on the injury report for this game. This is the second-straight game that Ball will initially be listed as questionable. Though he missed Friday’s game against Portland, there is certainly a chance that he is back to play against Charlotte. Gilgeous-Alexander’s 22 points were his lowest total since he scored 21 points against the Jazz on February 21. The 26-year-old’s typical level of play has reached heights that fantasy managers are miffed when he scores in the low-20s. Gilgeous-Alexander is still arguably the top player in fantasy. He’ll look to bounce back against the Lakers Sunday afternoon.

Williams continues to be an efficient scorer on a night-in and night-out basis. The 23-year-old small forward has made at least 50 percent of his field goal attempts in 10 of his last 11 games. Scoring-wise, few players have been as hot as White over the past month. He’s averaged 28.2 points per game on 51.1 percent shooting. While his defensive value is limited, Coby’s offensive ability has made him an excellent fantasy asset, especially in points leagues. Buzelis finished Friday’s victory with his first double-double, and the 12 rebounds were a season-high. The rookie forward has recently been an excellent fantasy asset, providing top-50 value in eight- and nine-cat formats. Buzelis’s season-long fantasy value hasn’t been great, but he has been a 10th-round player in eight- and nine-cat formats since the beginning of March. Before Friday, Vucevic had gone nearly two months since he last scored at least 30 points in a game. He ended that “dry spell” in a big way against the Trail Blazers, making some history in the process. The double-double was Vucevic’s 200th as a Bull, moving into a tie with Scottie Pippen for second on the franchise’s all-time list. Over the past two weeks, Vooch has provided top-20 value in nine-cat formats, which aligns with his season-long production. In recording his sixth triple-double of the season, Giddey established a new career-high with 19 rebounds. The move to Chicago has been excellent for his NBA career, and fantasy managers have reaped the rewards. Giddey has been a top-50 player in eight-cat formats, exceeding many expectations, even though his Yahoo! ADP (69) suggested that fantasy managers expected him to be better in 2024-25. And Josh could be in for a big finish to Week 22, as the Bulls visit the Hornets on Sunday.
