Watson has been out since straining his hamstring during a February 4 loss to the Knicks. After Monday’s 3-on-3 session, there is hope that he’ll be available to play sometime this week. While games on Tuesday and Wednesday may not be in the cards for Watson, he may be available toward the end of Week 21. His return will affect the playing time of Spencer Jones and Julian Strawther, neither of whom has done enough to remain on the radar in most fantasy leagues.

On a day when Shai Gilgeous-Alexander missed 14 of his first 17 shot attempts, the Oklahoma City bench stepped up. Joe led three reserves in double figures with 20 points, and he was joined by Alex Caruso (17/2/1/3 with one three-pointer) and Jared McCain (15 points, one steal and five three-pointers) in lighting it up. Joe’s fantasy ceiling is limited, even with Jalen Williams out, but he’ll have his opportunities to contribute. And Sunday’s game was a reminder of what he’s capable of when the threes are falling.

While he failed to score in his 21 minutes on the floor, Hartenstein still provided value in multiple categories. Sunday’s game was his 16th of the season with at least ten rebounds, and fantasy managers also benefited from the assists and blocks. Oklahoma City’s three-game Week 21 includes a back-to-back, meaning that Hartenstein could be limited to two appearances.

There may have been some concern regarding Gilgeous-Alexander’s streak of 127 consecutive games with at least 20 points, as he started Sunday’s game shooting 3-of-17 from the field. However, the reigning MVP was able to get going late, extending his streak to a league record 128 games. Gilgeous-Alexander will look to extend his streak to 129 on Tuesday against the Magic.

With reigning MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander struggling for most of Sunday’s game, it was up to the Thunder’s “supporting cast” to pick up the slack. Holmgren led the way with 21 points as part of a complete stat line. Oklahoma City’s three-game Week 21 begins with a back-to-back, making it possible that fantasy managers can only count on Holmgren for two games. Since the All-Star break, the 7-foot-1 forward/center has been a second-round player in eight- and nine-cat formats.

Johnson, who has struggled for most of his first season in Denver, appears to be turning things around. He’s scored at least 15 points in three straight games, with the 18 points in Friday’s overtime loss being the most in a game for Johnson since hitting that number in a February 19 loss to the Clippers. For fantasy managers, now would be a great time for Johnson to provide consistent production, especially with the playoffs in Yahoo! default leagues beginning in Week 21.

Gordon shot 5-of-10 from beyond the arc on Saturday, coming through with much-needed production on a night when Jamal Murray (5/6/2 with one three-pointer) shot 1-of-14 from the field before fouling out. This was his second game of the season with at least five three-pointers, the first being Gordon’s 10 three-pointer explosion against the Warriors on October 23. The Nuggets play four games in Week 21, starting with the shorthanded 76ers on Tuesday.

Mitchell was solid in his 30 minutes of game action, finishing with fewer points than only Shai Gilgeous-Alexander on the Thunder en route to the two-point win. Efficient shooting was the key driver of Mitchell’s success on Thursday, but his ability to facilitate and make plays for others was another noteworthy takeaway. Whether he’s started or come off the bench, Mitchell has become a reliable wing option for the Thunder in his second NBA season. He’ll have a chance to find solid production again on Sunday against the Timberwolves.

Holmgren had a relatively pedestrian game on Thursday compared to some of his recent performances. The versatile center finished below his average in points, missed a double-double by one rebound, and didn’t record any blocked shots for a second straight game. Gilgeous-Alexander recorded a memorable outing in the Thunder’s close win over the Celtics on Thursday. The Nuggets did not have Aaron Gordon (hamstring) for Thursday’s game, resulting in Jones making his first start since February 4. Unsurprisingly, as he made 34 prior starts due to the Nuggets’ injury issues earlier this season, Jones was ready for the moment. Shooting 3-of-6 from beyond the arc, the second-year forward’s 19 points were the most in a game for him since dropping 28 on the Mavericks on December 1. The “Blue Arrow” was at his best when the Nuggets needed him most, scoring 16 points in the third quarter on 6-of-8 shooting from the field. Hardaway had one of his most productive nights of the season on Monday. The eight triples represented a new season-high, and his 28 points were the most in a game for him since dropping 30 in a January 29 win over the Nets. Denver having two days off after Friday’s loss to the Knicks worked in the team’s favor, as Murray did not miss any games after exiting that contest before halftime. While he was able to play 37 minutes on Monday, the Nuggets guard missed all four of his three-point attempts on the night. However, Murray made just under half of his two-point attempts, and category league managers will be pleased with the rebounds and assists. As a general rule, JayWill should be considered as a streaming option on nights when Chet Holmgren or Isaiah Hartenstein don’t play. On nights when both are out, Williams is a must-roster player.
