Williams had a rough afternoon, shooting 3-of-10 from inside the arc. The positive for those who have J-Dub rostered is that he did not add to that issue by turning the ball over, as he did not commit any turnovers. Given where the Thunder are in the standings, ensuring their key players are healthy for the postseason is more important than putting up gaudy stat lines. Oklahoma City’s four-game Week 23 includes a back-to-back, so Williams managers in active leagues may only have him for three games.

The Lakers had an excellent defensive game plan for Sunday’s game, using a variety of looks to limit the Thunder to 99 points. They also successfully defended Gilgeous-Alexander without fouling, as he failed to attempt a free throw in a game for the first time this season. SGA still shot over 50 percent from the field and recorded solid point and assist numbers, so all wasn’t lost for those with the MVP favorite on their rosters. Oklahoma City plays four games during the final week of the regular season, starting with the Lakers on Tuesday.

Thompson finished Saturday’s defeat with his second double-double in five games and third of the season. Over the past two weeks, the second-year wing has been a sixth-round player in eight- and nine-cat formats. While Thompson may not be a star within the Pistons’ lineup, he’s a “connector,” which has ensured he provides solid fantasy value. For Thompson managers whose leagues run through Week 23, the Pistons play four games, and Monday’s matchup with the Kings will be excellent for streaming purposes.

Beef Stew returned to the court on Saturday after a two-game suspension, and he did so as a starter. Jalen Duren (leg) was ruled out shortly before tip-off, so Stewart was inserted into the starting lineup. And he had a productive night, filling the stat sheet in 34 minutes on the court. Duren’s absence also meant Paul Reed remained in the rotation, but he offered limited production in his 11 minutes on the court. Once Duren returns, Stewart will head back to the bench.

Cunningham returned to the Pistons’ lineup on Saturday after missing six games with a calf injury. While the shot was a bit off, he finished one steal shy of a complete stat line. Interestingly, Pistons coach JB Bickerstaff kept Dennis Schroder in the starting lineup, moving Malik Beasley to the bench instead. Schroder (10/2/4 with two three-pointers) was able to preserve some of his fantasy value, and there wasn’t much change for Beasley (11 points, three rebounds, one steal and three three-pointers), either. How long Schroder remains in the starting lineup depends on Tobias Harris, who did not play on Saturday due to a heel injury.

Gilgeous-Alexander’s 22 points were his lowest total since he scored 21 points against the Jazz on February 21. The 26-year-old’s typical level of play has reached heights that fantasy managers are miffed when he scores in the low-20s. Gilgeous-Alexander is still arguably the top player in fantasy. Schroder continues to start with Cade Cunningham (calf) out of the lineup. Unfortunately for fantasy managers, this hasn’t been the 31-year-old point guard’s very best stretch of play. Schroder started his third game in a row in the absence of Cade Cunningham (calf) Wednesday. The 31-year-old point guard didn’t have as good of a game this time around as he had just 15 points on 18 shots and seven assists after going for double-doubles in his previous two games. Hardaway Jr. went off for 23 points and five three-pointers as the Pistons lost by 16 to the Thunder. We’ve seen this movie before as the 33-year-old shooting guard is certainly capable of big games but tends not to sustain this level of production. He might have the opportunity if Tobias Harris, who left Wednesday’s game against the Thunder with an Achilles injury, misses more time.
