With Clingan unavailable, the Trail Blazers began Sunday’s loss to the Thunder with a smaller lineup. Kris Murray joined the starters and played 35 minutes, with Robert Williams getting 19 minutes off the bench. If Toronto’s Jakob Poeltl is available for Tuesday’s matchup, that could be a spot where Williams receives the starting nod if Clingan can’t play. However, that isn’t guaranteed, and the Time Lord’s minutes are still being restricted due to his injury history.

With Donovan Clingan sidelined with an illness, Avdija practically filled in as the starting center. He fell one rebound shy of matching his career high for rebounds, but he was still able to record the fourth triple-double of his career. Avdija is enjoying a phenomenal breakout season and will continue to be an elite option in fantasy basketball, even if the lack of defensive stats and subpar shooting percentages have slightly limited him.

Love is still on a two-way contract for Portland, but he has been a source of offense off the bench in recent weeks. He has scored in double figures in four of his last seven appearances, though it hasn’t come efficiently in recent games. Murray got the starting nod with Donovan Clingan (illness) sidelined for this game. It was a smaller starting unit for Portland, and Murray wasn’t able to fill the void on the glass. However, he was able to score in double figures for just the third time this season. This was Murray’s second start of the season, and it was far more productive than the first. He won’t get the chance to start often, but he does have enough upside to make an impact in deeper league when he does.

Mitchell exited early from Friday’s game with a knee contusion, but that didn’t hold him out of this game. In fact, it didn’t do much to limit his production. Aside from Friday’s game, when he exited after just four minutes, Mitchell has scored in double figures in all but one game. Portland played this game without Donovan Clingan (illness), and they didn’t replace him with a traditional center. That made Holmgren the biggest player in either starting lineup, but he wasn’t able to truly dominate the glass. He led Oklahoma City in rebounding, and each team finished with exactly 49 boards, but this was an opportunity for Holmgren to have a big rebounding night. Still, he was able to turn in a full stat line. With Isaiah Hartenstein sidelined for at least a few games, Holmgren will need to control the glass.

Sharpe returned from a four-game absence, came off the bench and finished as Portland’s third-leading scorer on Wednesday. He failed to make an impact from beyond the arc but was efficient and productive on his two-point attempts. The fourth-year guard pulled down a handful of boards in his 22 minutes, as well, but didn’t have much impact elsewhere. On the heels of a 35-point outing against the Bucks, Grant failed to recapture his shooting touch on Wednesday. Having tweaked his left ankle during Friday’s win over the Warriors, Clingan’s availability for both games of Portland’s ensuing back-to-back was good news for the Trail Blazers and fantasy managers.
