Wembanyama left Wednesday’s win over the Knicks during the second half with a left knee hyperextension. While there was no structural damage, the Spurs’ center did not travel for Friday’s game. Luke Kornet was Wembanyama’s replacement in the past, with Kelly Olynyk picking up rotation minutes off the bench. That should remain the case against the Pacers.

Joe was one of several Thunder players to find success on the offensive end on Wednesday. He, along with six other OKC players, scored in double figures, and he did so in less than 20 minutes off the bench. The sharp-shooting guard did all of his work from beyond the arc and was quiet in all other categories. He doesn’t have much value as a fantasy option, but remains a reliable piece in the Thunder’s nightly rotation.

In a December full of near-double-doubles, Holmgren was able to collect his second game of at least 10 points and 10 rebounds on Wednesday — he needed just 25 minutes to achieve the feat. Yet, what the former Gonzaga Bulldog did defensively was perhaps even more impressive, tallying eight stocks and setting a new season-high in blocked shots in the process. A blowout win prevented him from doing more damage, but he still finished with a productive night from a fantasy basketball standpoint.

The reigning MVP was limited to 29 minutes of game action, given the wide margin on the scoreboard, but still found a way to register another efficient 30-point outing. He logged his usual production from the charity stripe and did the bulk of his work inside the arc. Gilgeous-Alexander also tied a season-high in steals along the way to help the Thunder secure a third straight win. He finishes 2025 having averaged 30.0 points or better in each of the first three months of the season.

Exhale. While a slight hyperextension in the knee doesn’t sound good, the meat of Charania’s reporting here is that Wembanyama avoided a major injury. That bodes well for the rest of the season, though it’s unclear if Wembanyama will have to miss a game or two later this week. Fox bounced back after scoring only 14 points in the loss to the Cavaliers Monday to drop 25 points in the win over the Knicks Wednesday. The 28-year-old point guard once again struggled from behind the three-point line. Over the last two games combined, Fox is 2-of-14 from behind the three-point line. A 38 percent three-point shooter this year, he’ll look to add some threes to his otherwise excellent stat line against the Pacers Friday.

Champagnie dropped a career-high 36 points in this one. The 24-year-old small forward’s 11 three-pointers are the second-most anyone has had in a game this year, trailing only Stephen Curry with 12, and a Spurs franchise record. On a night when the Spurs trailed by nine entering the fourth quarter and lost Victor Wembanyama to injury not even two minutes into the fourth quarter, Champagnie kept the Spurs afloat and led the late comeback. With Devin Vassell (adductor) set to miss a few games, Champagnie is rewarding managers that chose to stream him.

If there’s one aspect of Castle’s game where he hasn’t made significant progress, it’s from beyond the arc. The second-year guard entered Saturday shooting 29.8 percent from deep, and that number will drop following a 1-of-8 effort against the Jazz. The 32 points were the most he’s scored in a game since November 10, when the phenom dropped 38 in a win over the Bulls.
