Trae Young will not play on Friday after spraining his right knee in Wednesday’s win over the Nets. Da Silva has reached double figures in four of Orlando’s first six games, with Thursday’s output being his best. The second-year wing is in a challenging spot to provide consistent fantasy value, as he backs up Franz Wagner, but he can be helpful in certain matchups. Da Silva played well against the Hornets, and Saturday’s game against the Wizards could be another spot where he offers sneaky deep-league value.

While Carter has grabbed at least eight rebounds in five of his six games played, the offensive production has been limited. Having scored between eight and 10 points in Orlando’s first five games, WCJ had his best night of the season against the Hornets. He established season-highs in points and three-pointers while shooting 66.7 percent from the field. However, while this was a solid effort, Carter’s production before Thursday suggests that this won’t become the norm. Especially with Paolo Banchero, Franz Wagner and Desmond Bane ahead of him in the pecking order. Carter remains a deep-league option only.

The Magic were without starting point guard Jalen Suggs on Thursday, as the game was the team’s second in as many nights. While Tyus Jones (five points, one steal and one three-pointer in 14 minutes) started the first game that Suggs missed, Black was tabbed to fill the void on Thursday, taking on the task of defending LaMelo Ball. While solid defensively, the third-year guard had his best offensive night of the season, scoring 20 points and shooting 3-of-6 from beyond the arc. Franz Wagner and Paolo Banchero handled most of the playmaking for the starters, but this did not negatively impact Black’s production. Suggs should be back for Saturday’s game against the Wizards, but the Magic had to be encouraged by what they saw from Black.

Banchero and the Magic ended their four-game losing streak on Thursday, with the star forward finishing one rebound and one assist shy of a triple-double. The lone negative for him was the foul shooting, with Paolo making just two of his six attempts on the night. Free-throw percentage and turnovers have lowered Banchero’s value in nine-cat formats, but fantasy managers shouldn’t be too concerned with the season being just over one week old.

Despite moving to the bench to make room in the starting lineup for Kristaps Porziņģis (14/6/7/2/1 with two three-pointers), Okongwu’s production has increased. Hawks head coach Quin Snyder said after Wednesday’s win over the Nets that Young doesn’t have an issue with the ACL in his right knee, but an MRI will determine the severity of his injury. Young was injured during the second quarter when a teammate fell into the outside of his right leg. While he tried to remain in the game, Young eventually headed to the locker room and did not return. After recording his first double-double of the season in Atlanta’s last game, Young was finally able to have the type of performance that made fantasy managers want to draft him early. Carter Jr. was one of four Magic starters to score in double figures on Thursday, mostly using efficiency inside the arc to find his scoring production. Yet, the veteran center made splashes in several other areas, as well. His most noteworthy contributions arguably came as a facilitator, notching a preseason-high in assists and leading Orlando’s starters in that category on Thursday. The three-point shot was a big part of Wagner’s production, which was good to see after the versatile forward shot under 30.0 percent from deep for a second consecutive season.
