Jovic pops up on the injury report after playing 22 minutes off the bench in Miami’s last game. He has been solid thus far, but if he were to miss this game, Simone Fontecchio, who has also gotten off to a strong start this season, would take on a larger role off the bench.

Powell was sidelined for Tuesday’s game against the Hornets, which allowed Pelle Larsson to start in his place. Larsson scored 17 points in 31 minutes and should be in line for another start. On a day with only four games, he has streaming appeal.

Adebayo finished Tuesday’s victory with a season-high point total, and he’s scored 19 points or more in three straight games. While there were no defensive stats in his most recent stat line, Charlotte’s porous defense allowed Bam to compensate for that on the offensive end. And the lack of defensive stats has weighed down his fantasy value through the season’s first week. Counting Tuesday, Adebayo has totaled two steals and no blocked shots. However, fantasy managers should not be too concerned given his track record.

With Norman Powell (groin) sidelined, Larsson was tabbed to make his first start of the season. He rewarded Erik Spoelstra’s faith with a solid effort against the Hornets, reaching double figures for the first time this season and finishing a blocked shot shy of a complete stat line. In fact, Larsson nearly doubled his point total after scoring nine points in Miami’s first three games. However, even if Powell misses more time, Larsson isn’t the best streaming option on a roster with Jaime Jaquez Jr. and Nikola Jović (10/6/2 with two three-pointers).

While Wiggins is shooting 50 percent from the field thus far, his fantasy value has languished due to a low free-throw percentage and limited production outside of points and rebounds. Those weren’t issues on Tuesday, as he recorded his first 20-point game of the season along with four defensive contributions. Wiggins’ role isn’t a problem for fantasy managers, as he will be in the starting lineup. However, the inconsistent production is, and that explains why he’s available in more than half of Yahoo! leagues.

Jaquez may not have been Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra’s choice to step in for the injured Norman Powell, but that did not prevent from from having an excellent night. And he’s gotten off to a good start this season, scoring at least 13 points in all four games (17 or more in three straight). Rostered in 28 percent of Yahoo! leagues, Jaquez is worth a look if Powell’s groin injury keeps him out for multiple games. Miami has games on Thursday and Sunday to end Week 2, the second of which (at LAL) is the first game of a back-to-back.

Powell began to experience soreness in his right groin during the pregame shootaround on Tuesday, prompting the Heat to add him to the injury report. His absence opens up a spot in the starting lineup, with Jaime Jaquez Jr. and Simone Fontecchio being potential replacements. While both have been productive to begin the season, Jaquez’s versatility may give him the edge.

The update to Fontecchio’s status bodes well for his availability against Charlotte. With Norman Powell (groin) banged up, Fontecchio could be in line for additional minutes. He’s averaging 13.7 points and 2.7 triples across the first three games of the 2025-26 campaign.

This is a new injury for Powell, and his inclusion on the injury report so close to tip off is concerning for his availability. If Powell is unable to take the court, Simone Fontecchio (calf) and Jaime Jaquez Jr. would presumably be in line for more playing time.

Banchero did his best to help Orlando mount a second-half comeback effort, but they were unable to come all the way back, slashing the deficit to two points with just over six minutes left before the 76ers pulled away for good. The 22-year-old burgeoning superstar scored 17 of his 32 points in the first half on 5-of-7 shooting to go along with six free throws. He wound up getting to the line six times in this one and was perfect from the stripe. He’s scored at least 24 points in three of Orlando’s first four contests to kick off the season.

Bane got off to a sluggish start but caught fire in the second half to finish with 24 points before fouling out with just over two minutes left in the game. The 27-year-old has struggled from three-point range in an extremely small sample size at the outset of his Orlando debut, but has still scored at least 14 points in all four contests. It feels like only a matter of time before he start to capitalize on the wide open looks Paolo Banchero and Franz Wagner’s playmaking should generate.

Adebayo struggled with his shot on Sunday but remained effective as a rebounder and recorded his second double-double of the season. And the three-point attempts have increased significantly when compared to last season. Adebayo has attempted 18 three-pointers thus far, with the average of six per game being more than double his 2024-25 mark (2.8). The accuracy hasn’t been there thus far, but Bam is attempting a transformation similar to the one Brook Lopez experienced earlier in his career. If Adebayo can develop into a consistent perimeter shooter, that would do wonders for him and the Heat.

Challenging to rely on in fantasy basketball last season, Jaquez has gotten off to a good start this season. He’s scored 17 points in consecutive games, which he accomplished once in the 2024-25 campaign. Consistent production will ensure Jaquez of rotation minutes, especially once Tyler Herro and Kasparas Jakučionis are healthy enough to play. The wing rotation is not as crowded now as it will be, and Jaquez has taken advantage through Miami’s first three games. He isn’t a must-roster player, especially with the Heat playing three games during Week 2, but Jaquez is worth watching.

Powell was fantastic on Sunday. He used his ability off the dribble to earn 12 free-throw attempts, which, combined with a solid performance from the field, led to him recording a season-high point total. With Tyler Herro (ankle) out, the Heat have relied on Powell more than they may have anticipated after acquiring him from the Clippers during the offseason. But, as evidenced by his play last season before injuring his hamstring in February, Powell can offer added value on the offensive end of the floor. Miami plays three games during Week 2, hosting Charlotte on Tuesday before heading west for four straight away from home.

After scoring 24 and 27 points while shooting over 50 percent in each of Orlando’s first two games, Wagner was quieter in their loss to Chicago. He missed his only three-point attempt after shooting 2-of-5 in each of his first two games of the season. This wasn’t a terrible game, but it wasn’t as productive as the first two were. He’ll look to bounce back in Philadelphia on Monday to kick off a four-game week.

It was another rough shooting night for Banchero, but he was able to score more than he did against the Hawks on Friday night. Through three games, Banchero is shooting just 34 percent from the floor and has a grand total of three assists. The shooting percentage has never been high, and he should correct it as the season progresses. However, the lack of playmaking early on is frustrating. Everyone was productive for the Heat in this dominant road win, and Jaquez was no exception. He recorded a double-double off the bench, which came after he had 13 points, six rebounds and two steals in the season opener. It has been a solid start to the year for Jaquez, which has been helpful for Miami with Tyler Herro (ankle) unavailable. The Grizzlies didn’t have any answers for Adebayo early in this game. He scored 18 points with four triples in the first quarter to help Miami jump out to a 19-point lead to end the first quarter and take a 39-point lead into halftime. Wagner has been on a tear to start the season. After scoring 24 points in the season opener, he added 27 more in this game while shooting about 50 percent from the floor in each game. Powell’s 28 points were a game-high against the Magic on Wednesday. Much like last year, when the 32-year-old shooting guard put up top scoring numbers filling in for Kawhi Leonard on the Clippers, Powell’s great night was ultimately made possible by Tyler Herro (ankle) missing the game. Bane, who was acquired in an offseason trade from the Grizzlies, fit right in during his Magic debut against the Heat on Wednesday. Carter Jr. was one of four Magic starters to score in double figures on Thursday, mostly using efficiency inside the arc to find his scoring production. Yet, the veteran center made splashes in several other areas, as well. His most noteworthy contributions arguably came as a facilitator, notching a preseason-high in assists and leading Orlando’s starters in that category on Thursday.
