Much to the delight of those in attendance or watching on TV, Robinson and Philadelphia’s Andre Drummond put on a shooting clinic. The latter handled the three-point shooting, but the Knicks’ center shot 7-of-8 from the foul line. Robinson entered Friday shooting 6-of-27 (22.2 percent) from the charity stripe. Between the free throws and points, with this being Robinson’s first 20-point game since February 2020, the 7-footer had a massive night. That said, he’s rostered in only seven percent of Yahoo! leagues for a reason. Be sure to keep the expectations in check, fantasy managers.

For the second time in his last three appearances, Bridges failed to record a steal or blocked shot on Friday. The good news for those who have him rostered is that the Knicks wing was productive in the offensive categories. Also, this is the first time that Bridges has scored 20 points or more in at least two consecutive games since New York’s final three games of October. The Knicks end Week 9 with a home game against the Heat on Sunday.

Towns finished Friday’s defeat with his 18th double-double of the season and third in his last five appearances. He’s dealt with some lower-body injuries recently, which may factor into the relative lack of double-doubles. Brunson was one of three Knicks to score at least 21 points on Friday, but his percentages may have been evidence of some fatigue. Of course, Philadelphia’s VJ Edgecombe deserves credit for his work on defense, but Brunson’s shooting 1-of-7 from three was not the norm for him. And he’ll have one more game to navigate during Week 9, with the Knicks hosting the Heat on Sunday.

Black has scored in double figures in five straight games, starting the last three as the Magic have been without Franz Wagner. With Jalen Suggs also out on Thursday, there was more room for Black to score, and he finished with his first 20-point game since December 1. While Black is ranked outside the top-150 in eight-cat formats over the past two weeks, the current state of Orlando’s rotation makes him worth the risk in some 12-team leagues. For the first time in over a month, Carter has reached double figures in three straight games. His performance against the Nuggets was his most productive of the season, with the Magic center recording his first 20-point game. Having last recorded a double-double on November 4, Banchero posted his first triple-double of the season on Thursday. He didn’t bring much to the table defensively, but the overall efficiency was good, with Banchero committing only two turnovers. Field-goal percentage has been the biggest issue for Banchero when it comes to fantasy value, making him a better option in points leagues than category leagues. That said, Saturday’s game against the Jazz is set up to be a good one for Banchero.

Kolek remained with the bench unit on Thursday, but the absences of Karl-Anthony Towns and Josh Hart meant that the Knicks were going to need more from their backup point guard. He answered the call, recording career-highs in points and assists while recording a complete stat line. Kolek can’t offer much value to fantasy managers when the Knicks are at full strength, but his emergence as a reliable option could prove huge for the team later this season. Jordan Clarkson also had a good night off the bench, adding 18 points (6-of-12 FGs, 1-of-1 FTs), three rebounds, one assist, one steal and five three-pointers.

While Karl-Anthony Towns, Josh Hart and Mitchell Robinson were held out of Thursday’s game, there was no doubt that Bridges was going to extend his games played streak. Brunson and the Knicks, who were without Karl-Anthony Towns, Josh Hart and Mitchell Robinson, were sluggish to begin Thursday’s game. Given Tuesday’s NBA Cup final, that was understandable. But the Knicks received key contributions from the bench, and in the end, it was Brunson who delivered the win. His three-pointer with 4.4 seconds remaining was the difference as New York extended its win streak to six games. Hopefully, Brunson will be available for Friday’s game against the 76ers, but league schedule-makers did not do their teams any favors by scheduling back-to-backs this soon out of the NBA Cup.

After a few rough outings, Bane came up big to help the Magic advance to the NBA Cup semifinals in Las Vegas. Bane joked after the game that he just lost $35,000 (courtesy of him throwing a ball at OG Anunoby), and that he’s “gotta go get it back somehow.” Orlando just lost Franz Wagner (ankle) to what is expected to be a multi-week absence. While Bane has shown on multiple occasions that he can still be as productive as he was in Memphis, it hasn’t happened consistently when this team is healthy.
