Clingan has not been a consistent double-figure scorer, so the double-doubles have been few and far between. He recorded his second of the season on Sunday, finishing a steal shy of a complete stat line. This was also the second game in which Clingan made multiple three-pointers and the first since Portland’s opener. In time, that could become a weapon for the 7-foot-2 center, but his strengths right now are rebounds and blocked shots.

With Jrue Holiday out due to injury, Grant made his first start of the season on Sunday. Unfortunately, while the points and three-pointers were good, the veteran forward did not offer much in the other categories. Grant did not record any defensive stats and was only responsible for two assists. That’s been the story of his time in Portland, and why Grant still isn’t a top-100 player despite increasing his scoring average by nearly 4 points per game from last season.

Avdija finished Sunday’s overtime defeat with everything but a steal, once again providing fantasy managers with excellent value. Jrue Holiday not playing due to injury meant the ball was in Deni’s hands more as a playmaker, which may have factored into his committing four turnovers. However, he was also responsible for a team-high seven assists. For the season, Avdija is providing top-25 value in eight-cat formats, well above his Yahoo! ADP of 51.

After getting off to a terribly slow start to the season, Sharpe has upped the production recently. He’s scored 31 points or more in three of his last four appearances, with Sunday’s being the best of the bunch. The Magic were without Jalen Suggs (groin) for Sunday’s game, leading to Black making his third start of the season. The third-year guard finished two points shy of his previous high and recorded a complete stat line. Bane’s game-winning three-pointer against Portland on November 10 may have provided the spark he needed after starting the season slowly. Bane finished Sunday’s overtime loss with a complete stat line, and he’s attempted 38 shots in the two games Orlando has played without Paolo Banchero (groin). Wagner has totaled 54 points in the two games the Magic have played since losing Paolo Banchero to a strained groin, shooting 15-of-38 from the field. While shooting efficiency has taken a hit, the raw numbers help compensate. Turnovers aside, Suggs had a productive night against Brooklyn, but what is most encouraging is the minutes. He logged 28 minutes and has played at least 25 minutes in each of his last three games. Considering he had been limited to roughly 20 minutes prior to that, he’s clearly getting closer to being at full strength. Bane entered this game having scored exactly 22 points in three of his last four games, and while he wasn’t able to match that mark again, he was still able to have a solid night. What is even more encouraging is that he continues to play big minutes and get plenty of shots. His 18 shots matched his second-most attempts in a game this season, and his 40 minutes were a season-best. Wagner was excellent last season when Paolo Banchero was unavailable, and that continued on Friday, with Banchero sidelined with a groin injury. In his own words after the game on Friday, Banchero said that he believed he avoided a serious injury, and the MRI results would back that up. While a groin strain is not great news, it’s far better than there being any sort of tear. The Magic can afford to hold Banchero out against the lowly Nets and then he will “be evaluated daily moving forward.” That means he could return on Sunday against the Rockets or, more likely, sometime next week. There just was a pain there. (Trainers) said if it was torn or anything, I wouldn’t be able to do anything.
