Murray is dealing with a sore back, hence his inclusion on the Kings’ injury report. If he’s unable to play, that may open the door for Malik Monk to return to the starting lineup. After enduring a two-game slump in which he scored 14 points on 6-of-23 shooting, Monk got untracked Friday night. Facing one of the worst defenses in the NBA, he shot over 50 percent from the field, and the 17 points were the most in a game for Malik since March 20, before he missed three games due to an illness. Friday’s version of Monk is what the Kings and fantasy managers will need on Sunday when Sacramento ends Week 22 with a game in Cleveland.

LaVine’s fantasy value has tailed off considerably over the past two weeks, as he’s ranked outside the top 200 in nine-cat formats. The combination of limited defensive production and 3.1 turnovers per game have done him no favors during this stretch. While LaVine did not record any steals or blocks on Friday, the stat line was one of his best. In addition to the double-double, he racked up seven assists without committing a turnover. Fantasy managers will hope for a similar effort on Sunday when the Kings visit Cleveland.

Sabonis recorded his 57th double-double of the season and fifth in as many games on Friday. During this five-game run, the Kings center has provided third-round value in eight-cat formats. While Sabonis remains a top-25 player in eight- and nine-cat formats for the season, he’s ranked outside the top-75 in both since the trade deadline. The addition of Zach LaVine and the Kings not replacing De’Aaron Fox with a “true” point guard have negatively impacted Sabonis’s fantasy value.

DeRozan and the Kings didn’t have to break much of a sweat to handle the Hornets on Friday, taking a 19-point lead into the half and never looking back. He’s scored at least 21 points in five straight appearances, averaging 24.8 per while shooting 50.6 percent from the field. DeRozan’s overall production has only been good for sixth-round value during this stretch, but that’s due primarily to his limited defensive output. The Kings end Week 22 with a game in Cleveland on Sunday.

Unfortunately, a combination of limited defensive production and poor foul shooting have made him a sixth-round player in eight-cat formats over the past two weeks. Usually fourth or fifth in the Kings’ offensive pecking order on most nights, Murray’s had to provide value in other areas. He finished Wednesday’s defeat with two steals and one blocked shot and has averaged 0.8 steals and 1.6 blocks over the past two weeks. That production is one of the reasons why he has offered top-25 value in nine-cat formats during this stretch. This was just DeMar’s fourth 30-point game since the All-Star break, but Sacramento has now lost six of their last seven games. They now hold a one-game lead over the Suns for the final play-in spot, but their next two games are against Washington and Charlotte, which should give them some breathing room. Regardless, DeRozan will continue to provide buckets with consistency.

Playing against his former team, Sabonis had a great matchup with Thomas Bryant starting in place of Myles Turner, who was sidelined with an illness. Sabonis took advantage of the matchup, but his team did not. Sacramento is now 1-4 since Sabonis returned, though he has grabbed at least 12 rebounds in each game. Unfortunately, he failed to record an assist despite playing 40 minutes. This was the fifth time in his career that he played at least 30 minutes and didn’t dish out at least one dime. He has really struggled since returning from an illness, and that continued in this game. He was able to somewhat make up for a terrible shooting performance with some rebound and assist production, but overall, it was another poor night as a reserve. Keon Ellis continues to start, and there is no reason to think that Monk will reclaim his starting role if he continues to play like this.

He was listed as a starter and even announced as one in the arena, but he ended up coming off the bench, with Keon Ellis remaining in the starting lineup. Ellis ended up playing 31 minutes to Monk’s 17 and contributing 10 points, three rebounds, two assists, six steals, one block and two triples. This game was all about buckets for LaVine, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing at this point. Outside of the two rebounds he grabbed, he didn’t contribute any non-points value for fantasy managers. However, he scored less than 20 points in each of Sacramento’s last four games, and he was incredibly efficient with his shot on Thursday. Sure, it would be nice if he did more than score, but he won’t put up goose eggs in nearly every other category like he did in this game often. He’ll look to keep the offense flowing during their upcoming six-game road trip against Eastern Conference teams, which starts in Orlando on Saturday.
